MDS Hop - Home Decor

Hi there!!  It's time for the MDS Hop and this month it's all about Home Decor!!

I love to see all of the creative things others do with MDS - so this should be a fun month!! I chose to make some wall decor for my son's room.

If you're not into the lacrosse scene then you might not know that "lax" is short for lacrosse.  A friend of mine posted a picture on Facebook last year with something similar to what I did, but without the images.  I've been wanting to recreate it myself - and our Game Day & Lacrosse downloads are perfect!!

All I did was create my own images in MDS.  First, I created my project with the custom size I needed to fit the letters.  I used Sahara Sand as the background color for the first two letters (they look like different shades in this picture but they're the same).  I added a stamp from the Game Day Photobook Template to give it a little extra color and grunge look.

For the last three letters I selected a custom blue color and added stamps from the Game Day Lacrosse download.  After I printed out the paper, I traced the letters onto the paper, cut them out with an exacto knife, and mod-podged the paper onto the wooden letters.  I sanded the edges a bit before adding a coat of Mod Podge to the top. I love how the "lax" stands out.  The project didn't turn out perfectly, but my son is going to love it!!

The most difficult part was getting the stickers off of the letters.  Seriously... a man must've been the one to apply stickers to the front of wooden letters?!  But, come to find out, my Stampin' Up! Bone Folder (#102300) and Adhesive Remover (#103684) worked like a charm to help get all of the residue off!  LOL!  I also realized after I finished that there weren't any hooks or holes on the back for hanging... so, I had to prop it up on my fireplace for photos -- sorry!!

Make sure and follow along with the rest of the Blog Hop so you can see the home decor the other designers created!  :)

Also, did you know that we have an MDS Hop Pinterest Board?  You can check it out HERE!!  :)  We'll be back in a couple of weeks with more MDS inspiration!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Monogram Framable with MDS

Today I want to share this cute home decor project I made using MDS.  This was so quick and fun to make!  I designed the project in MDS, printed it out, cut it to 8x8, added some bling, and put it in a frame....  And now I have a cute monogram piece that matches my craft room perfectly!

This project was inspired by one of the Creative Crew Challenges this month.  The challenge was to use the project on pg. 120 of the Stampin' Up! catalog as our inspiration.  I didn't have any of those stamps or papers yet so MDS to the rescue!!  I'm really happy with my project and think these would make cute personalized gifts!!

Valentine's Decor for SCIC #63!

Wow, I cannot believe it's February already!!  Sometimes I wish we could slow down time as it goes by so quickly lately.  But, a new month means a new challenge over at Stampin' Celebration - so that's always fun!  Here is this month's inspiration photo:

These photos definitely made me think of Valentine's day!  Here is what I created:

It was kind of difficult to get a good photo of this without a glare, but hopefully you get the idea.  I wanted to make an insert for my seasonal shadow box that I like to put out.  And the colors and frame in the inspiration photos were perfect for this!

I even used some of our silver glimmer paper!  As you can see, I used tons of different products for this project!!  Too much to list - but let me know if you have any questions about anything!!

We hope you'll join us this month on the Stampin' Celebration Blog Hop!  The other Design Team members have some amazing projects to share so make sure and follow along!

Pinterest-Inspired Photo Banner Frame

Today I want to share with you a project we did last month for our "Ladies Craft Night" and my neighborhood activities center.  My awesome downline Stacey, helped me come up with this project (she did most of it) and helped teach the class.  Actually, we had such a big turnout her daughter came and helped us as well!  :)  Here's what we made:

I just love this project!  You can just clip the photos on there so you can swap them out year after year.  The neutral colors really go with any decor and it uses so many fun Stampin' Up! products!

Everyone had a great time!  Here are some photos..... I hope this doesn't take forever to load on your computer!  (I always worry about that!)

Thanks to everyone that came and those that ordered kits 2 go!  This class was a lot of work but lots of fun!

This project used lots of Big Shot goodies.  If you don't have this incredible machine..... you can get it HERE.  Remember, if you spend $150 or more, you earn hostess benefits (at least $25 in free product)!

Don't forget about the Valentine's Promotions going on right now!

Valentine's Printable Home Decor

Hi!  I made this cute Valentine's Home Decor project a couple of weeks ago and am finally getting around to showing it!!

This was super easy and super cheap!!  All you need is our $1.95 Be Mine Digital Download and an inexpensive frame!  I used My Digital Software (which you can get a 30-day FREE trial of here) -- but our downloads can be used in other programs as well.

The original download looks like this:
I used My Digital Studio to change the gray to black and make the pink a little brighter.  I'm really happy with how it turned out.  And, if you use My Digital Studio, this $1.95 download gives you a 8.5 x 11 framable download PLUS each word/image can be used as an individual stamp!  That's 33 stamp brush images that you can use in whatever project you're creating - and you can change the size and color as you wish!

My Digital Studio is AMAZING!  So easy to make scrapbook pages, cards, Valentine's goodies, party favors, etc.!  Get your free 30-day trial of My Digital Studio Express here. No strings attached!!  Use it for 30 days and if you like it then you can purchase the Express (downloadable) version for $39.95 or the regular (DVD) version (with more content) for $79.95.  If you don't like it, then your trial version ends after 30 days and that's it!  :)

I'll be offering free Intro to My Digital Studio classes to help you learn some tips and techniques of this awesome program!  Check out my event calendar or contact me for details/questions.

Now, go do something creative!!
