Delusions of Spring!

Spring is still far off here in Colorado (we get more snow in March than any other month), but I can pretend! Even though we still have snow on the ground from weeks ago, I wanted to create a tablescape with my favorite spring color--purple!

When I couldn't find what I wanted for this tablescape, I had to get creative. You'll see!

I wasn't planning on using anything under these purple chargers, but I wanted more contrast. I wound up buying these natural placemats at Pier One and painting them white.

I found the container for my centerpiece on clearance at Ross. I already had the silk flowers and knew they would be perfect. I wanted a soft, romantic look. What do you think?

I made the napkin rings from picks I bought at Michael's.

The taupe plates and bowls came from Ross and the floral Laura Ashley bowls (my inspiration) were purchased from Goodwill.

I wanted my stemware to look spring-like, too. I purchased these wine glasses from Dollar Tree and painted the little blossoms on them in white and purple.

It's full spring ahead as far as I'm concerned! I hope wherever you are, there are signs of spring to celebrate!

Farewell to Winter!

This is the third and last installment of my "think warm and end the winter doldrums" series of tablescapes! Next week, I don't care if we have a blizzard, I am doing something more spring-like!

Join me now as the morning sunlight
danced across my table!

I got the rooster plates and bowls years ago at Ross.
I found the large square plates, which still had the
Pottery Barn price tag of $12 per plate, at my local
Goodwill store for $12 for all four plates!

The chargers were on clearance at Z Gallerie.

I did add a little bit of spring with
these pretty white blossoms!

I tied the napkins from World Market
 with some simple raffia.

These glasses are from Dollar Tree.

I love all the different shades of brown in these chargers.

I've been tablescaping now for six months, and enjoy it more and more each week. I'm so glad I listened to my sister and decided to join her. Thank you for letting me come into your home!
