ICRCOCT16 - Anything Goes + Mood Board

Hey Everyone!

We have a new challenge over at the INDIAN CRAFT ROOM!  This one is brought to you by our DT Akshma!

Here is our challenge...

I made a Diwali card for this challenge.  Diyas, multiple colors, mandalas, and golden sparkle!

Here is my DT inspiration for this challenge...

I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks for the background and the Swirl design embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  I went over the embossed design with Perfect Pearls Powder to give it golden shine.  I used a circle punch for the diya's (candles) that I cut in half, and used a leaves punch to get the flame....teeny tiny leaf!

Here's a short video...hope you can see the shine!

Hope you'll join us for this current challenge over at the INDIAN CRAFT ROOM!

Thanks for stopping by!

ICR Septorial - "Scratch N Sniff Technique"

Hi Everyone!

We are doing something a bit different this month over at the INDIAN CRAFT ROOM!   Your 4 DTs...me included, are bringing you a new tutorial each week.  We had DT Ash bring you "A Lil More of Stamps" and Bhavana with "Emboss Resist and Ink Smooshing."

It's my turn this week, and I have a simple tutorial that will leave your cards fabulously scented!

This is a technique that I saw almost 5 years ago!  It's a simple one that brings so much life into your cards and crafts.  I hope you love it as much as I do :)

Here is my card using the final flavor embossed image

This to me is the simplest version, but there are many other ways to use this technique.

For instance, you can use colored pigment inks instead of VersaMark, and stamp the image right onto the paper (no marker would be needed).  End with heat embossing the powder mixture over it.

You can also use an image, stamp with color, and then either carefully stamp over the image using VersaMark, or use your VersaMarker Pen to color image in.  End with heat embossing the powder mixture over it.

Go ALL OUT with the different flavors....I will have to try making a chocolate scented cake/cupcake!

I hope you enjoyed my Septorial!  Don't miss our 4th and last Septorial tutorial by Shraddha.  She has something fantastic in store for you!

Thanks for stopping by!

ICRCMON01 - SHAKER CARD + 3 PATTERNED PAPERS

Hey Everyone!

We have a new challenge over at the INDIAN CRAFT ROOM!  This one is brought to you by our DT Bhavana!

Here is our challenge...

We had the opportunity to work with sequins from The Crazy Crafter - Crafting Supplies Store.  I received the round and flower shaped cup sequins.

The sequins were vibrant in color and shine.  I used all of the beautiful colors for my first card.  For the second card, I picked out only the blue.

Here are my two cards to this month's challenge...

I used the heart shaker from Stampin' Up, and various DPs.

I used various DPs and  a shaker that I have been hoarding for almost 9 years!  I added some blue sequins to match the card colors.  The bunny stamp is from "Your Next Stamp" and was colored with zig brush markers and wink of stella brush markers.

Hope you'll join us for this current challenge over at the INDIAN CRAFT ROOM!

ICRSS04 - April Story Scrappers!

Hi Everyone!

We have a Scrapbook Challenge Series going on at the Indian Craft Room.

We bring you a new storyboard/layout to follow each month, and ask you to make 1 layout per month.  We are now on month 4!  If you would like to join in, it's not too late!  The series runs through December, so you have plenty of time to create your layouts and catch up with us!

 MONTH OF APRIL
Storyboard by DT Ash

Here is my layout...

I loved Ash's storyboard, as I was able to use it to share details of my baby shower.  The theme of the shower was "April Showers Bring May Flowers," as our baby girl was due in May.  The 3 larger pics are of my family and friends, a diaper cake and framed poster for guests to sign off on, and the invite I made for the baby shower!  The three smaller pics are of one of the centerpieces, our delicious cake, and our favors. I used the circle stitched for all of the circles on the page, and zig markers to color over the "bless" wood word.

I used the clouds die from Paper Smooches for the 3-D effect over the invite.  The "WITH LOVE" is from the napkin rings we placed at each table setting.

I couldn't have asked for a more perfect shower.  Everything from the first thoughts of the shower to the details in the food menu were perfect.  I have to thank my family and friends!  I had the shower closer to my 8th month, so they were the ones that not only helped to come up with ideas, but brought those ideas to life!

There are lots of details still to be shared, so will have to do another layout or two in order to get all of the pics in.

I used a particular 12x12 double sided designer paper that I need to find.  It has flowers on one side and raindrops on the other. I unfortunately only bought one sheet, so will be one the hunt to get a another few sheets.

YAY!  I'm so excited to finally see my pregnancy scrapbook come together.  Thankful to be part of the Indian Craft Room challenge, as it's encouraging me to get these layouts done!
