Christmas File Folder Gift Card Holder

Created this Christmas card as a File Folder style card using my WeR Memory Envelope Punch Board in which I recently learned how to make a file folder style card with.

Made this a gift card holder. See Santa's eye on the gift card peeking over the top.

Used Kraft cardstock for both parts of card one in which is a Kraft pattern w/ music design. Stamped a Whimsical Design sentiment. Used Tim Holtz Stacked Words Christmas die in which I paper pieced the colors of green & red. Added a gem to the dot above the letter 'j' in 'joy' word.

Writing File Folder Card - Cuttin & Stampin DT Ch Writing

Today is my first post other than the blog hop for Cuttin' & Stampin' as a Design Team Orange Team member.

This is my first time making a file folder card and I made it a gift card holder as well.

I found a video by Patty Bennett to learn how to make. 

The provided papers & a piece of pink fabric with a music design are by Maggie Holmes. The provided stamp set is by Paper Smooches 'Just a Note.'

Most if not some of you know I'm fond of calligraphy so I had to incorporate that into the vintage theme.

Can you spot how I used the pink fabric as the pencil eraser? I stamped the pencil onto the wood paper & pink fabric and paper pieced it together to make the pencil look like it was sharpened wood and the fabric texture gave it a cool eraser look. Distressed the pencil with Tim Holtz paper distresser to give it a worn look.

Used a Martha Stewart punch that reminded me of wax seals that were used on envelopes. Does anyone else remember wax seals?

Distressed the edges of the paper with TH Distress Ink.

Inside file folder card a gift card is placed.
