Embellished Ad

At a retreat last winter & handed my gal friends each their own Cosmo Cricket ad. I copied it from a magazine because it was too cute to be true!  The fine print is what really made me giggle.

I know it's old, a few years maybe even.

However, it just struck me as a fun to embellish ad.

So, here is how mine turned out...

I used Unity's Imagine It stamp to make some fun leaves.
Then I dug out every matching flower, paper & punch I could find in my stash.
Now I have a fun little page to put on my inspiration cork board!

Comment on blog posts there & maybe win a prize.

CC45

Ippity's Chick Challenge 45 has a great sketch for inspiration.
I had to think about it for a while, since the shape is a bit hard to use.
It ended up serving as a frame for the Unity stamp "Dream Big" butterflies.

I think this paper is Echo Park's So Happy Together.
The sentiment is off Unity's Fabulous Girl Itty Bitty.

Spooky Bat Cave

With fall upon us & soon Halloween, these photos from last year seemed fitting.  We live near an old rock quarry with sheer cliffs & even small caves.  My oldest boy & I took a hike to the spooky bat cave.  The large gate was placed on to keep folks out for safety & to protect the bats from people with tennis rackets.  Seems sad, but to some people killing bats is fun.

The majority of the products used are Authentique.  Last years Glowing Thrill is the orange background.  Diffused is the larger strip shown.  The Unity stamps work great on the layout.  They are the corners, bats & "spooky".  I cut the title on my Cricut using the CTMH Arte Philosophy on Aunthentique"s Journey Itinerary paper.

I masked a circle & sponged around it.  I added some Smash tape to as photo corners & a long strip on the right side.

I'm linking up to Authentique's Color Challenge on their blog.  Head over there to see some other fun layouts & cards.  You can join in the fun to win prizes!  The color storyboard provided is great inspiration.

Pink-n-blue

I found this ribbon at my local craft store & had to buy it in every color.

The card is so basic, but I did take time to emboss & punch the edge.

Birthday Train

I gave my Cricut machine a workout making this banner for my 4 year's birthday!  He just loves trains & my big door in the dining room is a good place to hang a banner!

The project was easy, with layering roof & wheels.  A hole punch was used to weave the thin ribbon through.  I cut the letters to add on using my sticker maker.  That was a life saver!

Fun With Friends

Just wanted to share a fun photo of my sister, cousin, friend & I at our favorite scrapbook retreat!  There is a fun contest going on over at the Authentique blog about mustaches.  I think they are silly & fun.  I've even sold several mustaches on a stick in my craft booth.  They were hot items right before prom in the spring!

In the photograph, I'm the one with a goatee!  We laughed so hard at my cousin wearing the "walrus" mustache.  The paper mustaches were simply cute twice then sandwiched in between them was the skewer sticks with a hot glue gun securing it shut.

American Birthday

I know the holiday is long gone, but a little red white & blue can still be fun on cards!  I made a few using Bobunny paper scraps.  These would be great for anyone in the military or an all American kid!

The Happy Birthday stamps are CTMH & I just love that the acrylics can be curved onto the block!  The gems on the little white stars are hard to see.  How great is that weathered looking sunburst?!

Using Brass

I'm playing along with Vintaj Brass Company's challenge: Asian Lanterns

Using the Cricut, I made Pagoda cartridge paper lanterns.  Then using brass chain, I formed delicate tassels on this special page.  My sister & son share a birthday, being only a day apart.  The asian symbol for "celebrate" fit on a brass blank & some silk ribbon streams from the charm.

Voting for this page runs from September 3-7th.  Head over to Vintaj & vote for #3 , the only scrapbooking entry!  Thanks folks.
