MOVIE REVIEWS

It's been a while since I've done a review, and I've seen a few movies this summer! Lets see...

Star Trek: This was such a good movie! All the actors/ actresses were amazing, the plot thrilling and it was just a fun show to watch and enjoy! I'm not as familiar with Kerk's tale as I am with Picard (TNG), or Ben Sisko (DS9) or Voyager, but I got excited when I saw the characters I know, and had fun watching it come to be what it was all about! I really want to see it again!

Night at the Museum 2: I loved it!! They kept the great actors from the first movie, and added more great actors/ actresses to the cast! It was fun to watch them bring more history to life, and add more humor to it as well! The only thing that I could wish for, was to show a little reaction the next morning :), but this movie was one of my favorites this summer!

Up!: Was such a cute movie! I was not sure if I wanted to see it, but ended up really liking it! Of course the dog army made it even more enjoyable! (yes it is Dug... dang it!) Many fun quotes, most of them are used when I'm distracted! There were so many fun things about it, that made it overall a great movie!

Ice Age 3: It was so funny! It lived up to the name of Ice Age! It was so cute watching the mommy mimicking, and the stages of some courtships from fighting to falling in love, to getting bored and moving on to something else! They had so many habits that people get into, and don't know how to live without. It was a fun ride, with much laughter and smiles!

The Proposal: This movie was good. Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds are two great leads in this comedy! Overall there were many hilarious parts, and for me many embarrassing parts! This was one of those movies were I got embarrassed for the actors, and half the movie I was covering my eyes and cringing! There were two parts that I did not like at all, and wished that the producers had left them out. One was a Stripper scene (the mother and grandmother took out Margaret Tate (Bullock) for a baccalaureate party...) and a Bathroom Scene... where they showed more of Bullock than I ever wanted to see! Other than those two parts I did not mind the movie at all.. not sure if I want to see it again, but that's just me!

Transformers 2: This was a good action movie, but there was not much story behind the action. As a friend pointed out to me: that they tried to make it too serious, and did not let Shia do his thing, which was a disapointment. The action and visual effects were amazing, I just wish there was a story behind the actions. There was also too much sexual inuendos for my tastes as well.

Harry Potter 6: This was a great addition to the Harry Potter saga! Of couse I can't compair the movie with the book, but they did a great job of making this movie! I laughed so many times in this movie! Part of what made it enjoyable was the fact they humanized the characters. Instead of just reading it, they made it come alive, with the tension of the hidden feelings, and they created in Dumbledore curiosity, that made him connect with the young, and then made the audience laugh! Of course I cried at the end, and forgot tissues :(. I enjoyed every minute of it, and had many good laughs, and cries during the journey!

Work

So there are many dangers at working at a Movie Theater. Of course there are the disgusting jobs to do (like the grease trap where all the waste goes that we put down the sink) or the scars one gets from sweeping (stupid metal ended broom), but the most common danger to most girls is the kernels flying out of the kettle! Hot kernels against bare skin is not a pleasant sensation- IT HURTS! And I was lucky enough before this that I did not have any such scars... until now...

UP THE CANYON!!

So my roommate Tana and I had wanted to go up the canyon for a while now... and we finally had the time tonight to do so!! We sent out a feed yesterday to see how many people would want to come up with us. Quite a few people actually showed up, and we had such a great time! Tana and I went up the canyon earlier to try to find this site that she knew of, but was not quite sure how to get there... well it took about an hour and a half for us to find the site- with lots of backtracking. But while up the canyon we saw some gorgeous sites, and i wish i brought my camera with me on that trip! So we all met around 7, waited for one friend, and "kidnapped" another away from his RA duties and spent the night cooking dinner (we made Tin Foil Dinners!) and roasting Marshmallows, Starbursts, and Now and Laters!! and chatted until around 11:30 pm! It was a blast! I got to go star gazing (and wished I had Dad there to tell stories!), and talking about fears about what most of us will be facing within the year, and just catching up! Hopefully we can do this again soon, and with more people!!!
