Brock and Football

I know most of you are probably tired of hearing about our sporting events, but they are a big part of our life and unify us as a family. We are able to be great missionaries with our "sports" families and I personally have had wonderful conversations with mothers of teammates who are not members. It also gives my kids the opportunity to be a great example of what we stand for and what we believe.

Brock's team will be heading to the playoffs...we are not sure about Ryan's yet, but this Saturday will be the last regular season game. I just wanted to post some fun football pictures of Brock in recognition of him and his great football season. Brock is #13:

Proud Mom

The last couple of weeks I have been very happy and proud of the accomplishments of my children. I have taken time to ponder on the positive and not so much the negative and I have felt very blessed with the children that have been given to me and how very special they are and that they have been blessed with so many gifts. Both of my teenagers received their mid-term grades and have straight A's and I couldn't be prouder. All of the boys have been successful in their sports and Cassidy is such a great helper and support to our family. Kaelyn is such a "clever" little girl who is growing up way to fast.

Austin had the opportunity to give a talk at church this past Sunday and he did such a wonderful job...He is growing up too fast. A girl in our ward was having her mission farewell and he was really nervous about speaking because he knew there would be "extra people" there. He doesn't enjoy speaking in front of people. His talk was on "Recognizing the Spirit". After his talk a man that was attending because of the farewell came up to him and told him what a wonderful job he did and that he would like to get part of his talk to share with his ward. Come to find out he is the Bishop of his ward. I just thought I would share with you the part of Austin's talk that this Bishop wanted:

Some Signs of True Promptings of the Spirit
  • The promptings do not violate any gospel principles, such as free agency of another.
  • The promptings are in harmony with the teachings of the scriptures and of the prophets.
  • The promptings are in harmony with the order of the Church.
  • The promptings bring peace to the soul.
  • The promptings do not raise doubts and questions.
  • The promptings may be contrary to our desires when we have asked for the wrong things.

The spirit could be felt so strong during his talk and there was such a peace.

4 Touchdowns!!!

Ryan had an incredible game this past Saturday..we were so proud of him. He is #81 and he rushed 140 yards with 4 touchdowns! His team beat Roy 33-0. He is such a fast little devil and we are not sure why he is so fast except that he was to run away from his older brothers constantly. His team was so excited because the last two games they hadn't scored. Check out our slide show for his winning moment!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROCK!

Today Brock turns 13. He is an official teenager. We now have 2 teens in the house...watch out. Actually, having teenagers can be fun...at least when they are not being moody.

Brock-- we want you to know that we love having you as part of our family. You are a great big brother to Kaelyn and a great example to all those Deacons.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY...WE LOVE YOU VERY MUCH...ENJOY YOUR DAY!
