Sitting here in our room in Jeju, South Korea typing this while LW sleeps. I wanted to camp online for NMDs but I am guessing there are so many people using bots, it's almost impossible for me to get a pair tonight (T-T) I had Beng, Elv and Ash to help me camp too but still no match for bots. Anyway, I have been getting used to such disappointments when buying sneakers so I guess I have come to terms to it. Hmm.

Latest update: In Korea for a month with LW. This is a place we have become pretty comfortable with and a place we kept coming back to. Grad trip of some sort for both of us. I have read and heard my fair share of people who are against grad trips and spending on this before you earn but honestly, for me, I know I'll regret if I do not do this for myself. Each to his own!

We had our first full day here in Jeju today. Some middle aged man seated behind us at lunch remarked to his friends in Korean that we were probably tourists from China. LW turned around and replied them in Korean that we are not from China (with a slightly unamused face) and the man looked surprised that we could understand him. It is not like we do not see ourselves as Chinese but rather, Singaporean Chinese. The man DID say "jung-gook-saram" which means "person from China" when directly translated. He asked where we were from, how come our Korean is "so good" and "thanked us" for learning his language... Hahahaha! It was pretty weird but funny at the same time. It is not the first time somebody said we were Chinese. I guess they forgot that there are also Chinese people who are not citizens of China.

Driving around Jeju is a lil bit bit mind boggling in the city area but otherwise, really nice put of it along the coastal drives and long expressways. Drivers are also quite patient/tolerant with each other AND THEY ACTUALLY GIVE WAY TO YOU.

My laptop is running low on battery (I purposely left my charger in Seoul with my other luggage) so Imma end here~

Clear liquor and clouded eyes.

My best friends gonna be mad if they knew this but it was never my intention to do it in the first place. Now that I think of it, it's really quite stupid of me to do so... But if money can buy you clarity in life then I guess, maybe it's quite worth it?

I should stay away from "being too nice/generous" and keep my cards at home.

"It's okay to be angry and never let go
It only gets harder the more that you know
When you get lonely if no one's around
You know that I'll catch you when you're falling down
We came together but you left alone
And I know how it feels to walk out on your own
Maybe someday I will see you again
And you'll look me in my eyes and call me your friend"

Sigh.

First post of the year.
written on Monday, February 29, 2016 @ 2/29/2016 01:56:00 am ✈

Just realised that it's 29th Feb today. That makes this post kinda special in a way?

Not sure if anybody reads this blog anymore but that was never (really) my intention in the beginning when I started writing anyway. Somebody (I think Elly or LW) once told me that if that's the case, I can always lock up this blog or get private LiveJournal (LiveJournal was kinda "in" when we were in secondary school) but I guess I just wanna stick to one online journal. Besides, I cannot really be bothered to lock up my blog because whenever somebody (read: I am stalking that person) locks up their blog(s), I feel a lil more sad inside. Like, WHYYYYYY?! I HAVE BEEN READING YOUR BLOG ROUTINELY, DON'T DO THIS TO MEEEEEEE~ (T-T)

So yeah, I am also being considerate to those people who still read this brain-vomit of mine.

My first post of every year is usually dedicated to looking back at the year that just went and write something for the year ahead. I do not have much to write in my blog nowadays - 50% because I don't think I write as well as I did in the past, 25% cause I am lazy/forgot to write and 25% i-dont-even-know-why-but-maybe-cause-no-time-but-thats-just-an-excuse. Maybe this year would be different. I don't know. I would do, like, a quick summary of 2015 though, because I like to read back on my old posts and think about the thoughts I had back when I wrote the post so here goes. Chronologically.

1. Avenged Sevenfold 2015
My third time seeing the band. Crazy af. Got the setlist that Matt threw into the crowd. Was gonna go for the gig alone but I found my primary school schoolmates there so that's was cool. We hung out and re-connected.

2. 22nd Birthday
Was not planning anything, although courtesy of D and Pat, got guest listed for me and a couple of friends at F Club. That evening, however, turned out to be pretty crazy because the P13/P14 people threw a birthday surprise for Cephas and I. Our birthdays are two days apart. And then more people come down, we had helluva time clearing the menu at Chupitos. Somebody threw my birthday card and birthday present away in the trash and I only realised it after 3 hours. I remember Roch, Shukee and I turning the bin out at the bridge. That was where some of them were drinking earlier and someone must have thrown my present away, thinking that it was trash. Thankfully, we found the card and the present, hehehe! It was a really pretty Pandora charm :3 I was out of my head by 4am but I did make it home and even showered before I got into bed. The only thing I don't remember is walking from the club to the taxi stand. That's all.

3. Vietnam
With probably the best people I know from uni. Jamie, Syakirah, Rochester, Aaron, Billy, Clifford. So one evening while having dinner in school (cause we were all studying in school err day err night in the days leading up to the finals), Jamie just asked if I'd like to go to Vietnam, because Roch and her were just talking about going away to somewhere for a few days after exams. The trip turned out to be one of my fav memory of uni life. Well, of course it had to happen with my fav people from school! ;)

4. BIGBANG "MADE" TOUR SINGAPORE
I mean, what else can I say, right? HOLY SHIT!
Ticketing war drove us mad that morning when tickets went on sale. I even attempted to try get the tickets from the post office at gardens but thankfully, LW managed to get them even thought the website was trippin'. The organisation implemented some kind of new queueing system so there was no overnight queueing (aka sleeping outside the stadium) like LW and I did 3 years back. Don't think we would have queued overnight again if there was no queuing system implemented but then again, we do get a lil crazy sometimes and egg each other on to do stupid things so... -shurgs-

5. ARES

Video above was from FOC2. We won Best Cheer for FOC1 and... That's all we won but I think the process that we went through together is more than winning anything. We came in peace, chill-ed the fuck out (Qaiser said because he is Malay and he's our clan leader so we all just rilek one corner sua), just enjoyed each other's company and focused on building sustainable friendship. That, to me, was more than enough and more than I can ever asked for.
This camp also marked the end of my adventures in SRC, where I have found quite a number of good friends. In fact, almost 95% of the people I know in uni, I knew them because of SRC. So joining SRC was probably the best decision I made in uni. And I mean, THE BEST. Ares was a nice icing topping on top to end things.

6. Sydney
Jamie: Do you wanna come over to Sydney? (She was there for a month-ish to visit her grandparents)
Me: That's it. I am booking tickets next week.
-
And I off I went. For exactly a week.
Stayed over at Jamie's grandparents' place with her and they are absolute darlings. I don't have my grandparents with me anymore and I grew up mostly without them around so it was lovely to get to hang out with Jamie's grandparents. Got to meet up with SQ and Dawn too when I was there. Great time, good vibes, even better company.
Jamie and I were trying to get some Yeezys online that night it dropped, but as expected, we did not get any. We had a pair in the cart but we could not check out so that sucked. Went to bed after that. Did not bother trying on other websites anymore. Hurrrrrr.

7. ZoukOut 2015
With my uni friends again. I do most of my drinking with my uni friends. Hmm.
WE GOT REKT.
That's all I can say.
Also, we survived till sunrise on day 2!
(P.S. Something memorable and hilarious happened when Derry and I were meandering through the crowd. I think both of us gonna remember that for life. HAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!)

8. Taiwan
Ended 2015 and started 2016 in Taipei!
From an initial group of 7, in the end only Kim, Ryan and I made the trip. Gerard was already heading there so he's not counted. His mum is Taiwanese so he goes back there annually. We had our countdown on a flyover where the Taipei 101 was visible. We were too lazy to go squeeze with the crowd that'll be around 101 and town!
That was my first visit to Taipei and I must say that I really like the place a lot. The people there are also extremely hospitable and friendly :3 It is probably my 2nd favourite place to visit after Seoul (Ya know what they mean by "Seoul has got my soul")

So there. Ready to take on 2016 but will leave my thoughts for another post because Imma go to bed early for a full day of revision later.
