Happy I Do Day Card

The new to me embossing folder makes

such a simple and elegant card !

Silver metallic ink, glitter card stock, glitter "glue",

satin ribbon and dimensionals finish off the embossed base.

We saw record setting temps of -28 below wind,chills yesterday,

still very cold out there today. 

In just a couple of days we'll be seeing 60 degree temps.

Spring fever will be hitting. Crazy ! 

Gorgeous 3D Botanical Embossing Folder

I recently received a $10 electronic "debit card" reward to spend. I thought I could use it as a partial payment towards a new chair mat for my craft room, but the online store would't accept it for partial payment. So what could I find for $10 online that I could actually use and it wouldn't cost just as much to ship ? Amazon to the rescue! I found this stunning embossing folder for $7.99 and it was shipped free with their Prime feature! I've never heard of these folders before, sometimes online shopping and "suggested items for you" works well ;)

These are much thicker than regular embossing folders,

so you will need to adjust your embossing machine "sandwich". 

Here is the first thing I made with it,

a simple sympathy card

I used old paints I had on hand to create it,

brushing on the teal glaze then lightly

rubbing on the gold with my finger.

I started with black card stock.

NOTE: I think the moisture from the paints

made the embossing relax a bit,

it doesn't seem to be as bold now. 

The white test piece had silver rubbed onto it:

Embossed Love Card

This is a stepped up version of the card I shared yesterday.

I even embossed velvet ribbon with an embossing folder !

The image on this card has been heat embossed.

I discovered that it loses the detail of the image doing that, though.

Simple Love card

This was a quick card to make:

-emboss background with an embossing folder

-layer onto slightly larger card base

-stamp and cut out heart image

-add white highlights with a gel pen

-adhere to card

-hot glue on roses made from ribbon

I think I'll make a fancier version of this card

to put back for a wedding card......

A Little Something Baby Card

All supplies used are oldies from Stampin' Up!

Cute Giraffe Baby Card

More scraps being put to use for another baby card.

This one is mail friendly - and not pink! 

I used a tag that wasn't die cut properly,

adding a scalloped edge to the bottom

where it should have had rounded corners like the top. 

The yellow scallop is glitter paper, but it doesn't show in the photo.

Sweet Pink Baby Card

Awwww,  I like how this card turned out using up more scraps

and an old button from my sewing stash. 

The little bear button was somewhat scary looking, 

but I used a Sharpie marker to add 

eyes and a nose to improve it. 

It has hand stitched through the knot of the polka dot organdy bow.

The new mommy could take if off of the card

and use it somehow, to make a hair bow for example.

Blush Baby Footprints Card

A third baby shower card I made recently.

This one is more time intensive than the two previously shared.

All supplies used were from Stampin' Up!

except the sentiment inside which I

created on my computer and printed out.

The pink color looks a bit odd because it is

actually some old Blush Blossom I have.

Going Gray was also used.

Yes, that is real stitching on the front panel.

Pink Elephant Baby Card

This is the second card I made for an upcoming baby shower.

Another pretty simple one and using up some scraps.

I chose to use an elephant (DD Noah stamp set)
on this card because the crib

bedding has elephants on it.

Simple Rubber Ducky Card

We have a baby shower coming up,

so I whipped up a few cards for my Mom to choose from.

This is the first one, a fairly simple one.

The image and inks are from Stampin' Up!

I made a simple cloud mask to sponge 

light blue ink over the create the sky.

A google eye was added for fun.

Calendar

I found this calendar at a church fundraiser yard sale last year.

I thought it was a neat idea.

It is dated from 2008.

January and February

(until the 29th) will work this year,

but nothing beyond that since 2008 was a leap year. 

 I'll use it in my craft room for a couple of months.

then dismantle it to repurpose the parts.

I could print out new calendar pages.......

It is two pieces of 12 x 12 chipboard covered with

decorative papers and embellishments.

The calendar is printed on 8 1/2 x 11 card stock. 

I added the photograph under the clear acetate at the top.

Although I have less design team duties,

 I am still working on crafty things almost daily.

I've been busy working on digital (4 completed)
