Glittery Snowflake Ornament Card

What a glittery fun mess I made creating this card !

The front layered snowflake  piece is actually a removable ornament.

I'm not so sure I like having a craft room
upstairs by my bedroom now after the mess I made ;)
It was nice keeping glitter and such more or less contained
to the old basement craft room before !

Card details:
Lightly textured red card stock, unknown,
was run through a polka dots Texturz plate (SU!).
I ran Diamond Stickles along the edges,
but it didn't look right so I sprinkled on silver glitter.
Unfortunately the thin line of Stickles was drying quickly
so the silver glitter didn't adhere very well.

Snowflake die, glitter paper, sentiment stamp and Real Red ink,
Stampin' Up!

Circle Spellbinders dies.

Cuttlebug paper medallion die.

White card stock, light weight red paper.

Banner was hand cut and edged with Diamond Stickles.

Thin silver elastic cord scrap from my stash, unknown.
I die cut another snowflake from very thin cardboard
and glued it the the back of the glittery die cut snowflake,
sandwiching the ends of the silver cord between.

The cardinal in snow covered trees image is
actually a photograph that I took.

The finished card size is 5"x 5".

Thanks for looking =)

Thinking of You Fall Card

This lovely rubber stamp image was a gift
from a long time "pen pal".
It is #80251 When Autumn Comes
from Stamps Happen, Inc.

I stamped it twice,
once on the card front and
the second time on a scrap of card stock.

The base image on the card was colored
to resemble summer with green trees.
The trimmed second image was colored with
fall colors and mounted to the base
on a piece of cardboard cut to fit.

Thanks for looking =)

Using up some decorative papers and tags I made for another project several years ago to make a couple of Thanksgiving cards.

The top card has faux stitching.

The bottom card has real stitching and rumpled organdy ribbon created by lightly heating with a heat gun.

Thanksgiving Pumpkin Cards

A couple of cards I made with two really old
pieces I made that were originally on a
tissue box I recovered.
I had made a seasonal themed tissue box
for a contest many years ago.
It was dismantled after a year or so.
I kept the bits and pieces knowing that
one day I would put them to a new use ;)

The pumpkins are free hand cut
and details are with chalks.
The plaid background was stamped with a
kaleidacolor ink pad on the tag
and Versamark on the card base.

This is the old tissue box cover

Old Fashioned Christmas Card

I've not played with the 52 Christmas Card Challenge for a while and was in need of a few more Christmas cards, so I used the current theme for this card: Old Fashioned Christmas.

The name of the old stamp set from Stampin' Up! that I used happens to be the same as the challenge!

The image was stamped on water color paper and water colored with ink from my ink pads using an aqua painter / water brush pen. The edges of the paper were washed with two shades of light brown ink.

Decorative background paper from an old Die Cuts With A View stack.

Actual sewing around the edges of the decorative paper and distressed edges on the Espresso card stock mats.

Paper doily from my stash, bought at a discount store many years ago.

Paper punch button and bakers twine.

Gifted Glove Fall Card

Another fun old rubber stamp image
from Stampin' Up!
that I colored in with inks
and a water brush pen.

Bountiful Basket Card

Another Thanksgiving card I made this year
using an old stamp image from Stampin' Up!
I've always liked coloring in my old detailed stamp images.
My form of coloring books for adults that are so popular now !

Closeup to show the faux stitching,
created by piercing the card stock
then connecting the dots with a marker.

(the color is really off in this photo.......)
Closeup to show the "gingham"
embossed background I made by using
a stripes embossing folder.
Emboss it one way, flip it around a quarter turn
and emboss a second time to create the plaid look.

Embossed Copper Pumpkin Card

I finally used this piece of copper
that I stamped and embossed years ago !

Stamp with Stazon ink,
run a stylus along the lines
then color with permanent markers.

Mulberry paper from eons ago was layered
behind the copper piece.

I ran a stylus on a scoring board to make the
ëmbossed lines near the edge of the card front.

Image from Stampin'  Up! (retired).

I've not played in the challenge at Cards in Envy for a while,
so
I'm entering this card in the current Cards In Envy Pumpkins challenge.

Thank You, Veterans

Thank you, today and everyday,
for the sacrifices you make
to keep our country safe.

The Best on Earth:
A Veteran's Day Tribute

If someone has done military service,
They earn the title "veteran," and more;
They earn our deep respect and admiration;
That they are special no one can ignore.

They sacrificed the comforts we enjoy;
The list is long of all the things they gave.
Our veterans are extraordinary people;
They’re loyal, dedicated, true and brave.

When terror and invasion were real threats,
They showed us they could handle any storm.
We owe our freedoms and our very lives
To our veterans, who served in uniform.

Our veterans should be celebrities;
They’re exceptional; no other group compares.
We’re grateful for the many things they’ve done;
They’re always in our hearts and in our prayers.

We owe our veterans support and friendship;
Let no one ever question what they’re worth.
These men and women served us and our country,
Our veterans--the very best on earth.

Gown and Tux Shaped Wedding Card

Normally when I've been invited to a wedding, I made a special card to reflect the colors or theme of the wedding. I didn't know what either would be for a wedding I recently attended, but suspected it may be a sort of country theme. The invites were a simple cream card in a kraft envelope. I was going to use that as a starting point for my card and had several ideas. In the end I decided to make this gown and tux card since I have always wanted to make one after seeing the idea several years ago.

The pattern I used was found here, but there are many other versions to be found online.

Since the invite was cream and kraft, I made the gate fold card base kraft with a cream insert to write on. I made my card slightly taller than a regular A2 size to hide a check I was giving the happy couple.

The insert is a very old die cut item that was in my stash.
It came in a grab bag of items long ago. I think it was meant
to be folded in half as a gift card or place card for a table ?
I liked the elegant corners so used it as a base
to stamp a sentiment on (oldie from Stampin' Up!).

After I cut the dress pieces out,
I ran them through an embossing folder.

The trim on the waist of the dress is
some really, really old plastic
crafty stuff I came across at a yard sale
many years ago. It was on a roll like ribbon.
I should have made the waist on the dress a bit
wider than what was on the pattern to fit the plastic trim.

I added teeny, tiny paper punch buttons
and a hand cut collar to the original tux pattern.
A little bit of doodling with a marker, too,
for extra detail.

This was a fun card to make.

Thanks for looking =)

Although the idea is not original, I'm entering my card in the following challenges "just because":
