Baby Girl Onesie Card

Simplified version of a onesie card I've made in the past.

The bottom half is a piece of vellum
that I ran through an embossing folder.

Back To Craftin'

Three and a half weeks after surgery, I made it to the craft dungeon to whip up these cards from scraps.
I am unable to fully use many of my crafty goodies (such as pulling open the heavy rubber stamp drawers or card stock drawers, even lifting the Big Shot up off of the rack high above the table to use) for a few more weeks yet, so I had to make do with what I could easily handle.

This was part of a card kit from Stampin' Up!

The stamped strip is soooooo old ! 

It was actually part of a step by step display

I set up many years ago to show how to make

a simple bookmark. 

The stamp set is a really old two step set by Stampin' Up!,

the name is Fanciful Flowers I think.

The tiny die cut butterflies are a couple of leftovers

from another project. I have a small pile of them,

some of which were used on the cards I'm sharing today.

They are from a die from Stampin' Up! that cut and embossed

several butterflies at one time. I used the largest of the butterflies

on other projects, these tiny die cut butterflies have accumulated and

needed to be put to use.

This one really needed a colored layer, But I wasn't about to

pull open the heavy card stock drawer to cut a piece since I

had no small scraps on my table top. 

In hindsight, I should have used a large black chisel point Sharpie marker 

along the edges like I do quite often. 

This started as a piece of an 8.5" x 11" piece of card stock

that was stamped all over. I made several of them then

glued informational printouts to them. After they were no 

longer needed, I ripped the information off and kept the stamped

card stock pieces, trimming them to fit various projects as needed. 

This was a piece of scrap paper I had been

"stamping off" onto for another project. 

It hadn't been thrown away yet and didn't look too bad,

so I decided to make into a quick, simple note card.

The leaf stem is from Wonderful you,

retired from Stampin' Up!

I also made a simple baby onesie card I'll be sharing in a couple more days. 

I have yet to make a nice card for moms birthday next week.........

Galls On Oak Leaves Scrapbook Page

This is the last of my prescheduled posts from the past three weeks

as I've been recovering from surgery. 

I hope to get back to "work" in my craft dungeon soon !

This photo was taken at crest during the record setting flood of 2008. What is normally a field in front of our house became a 6+ foot deep lake that we went SeaDooin' in !  Luckily this past year the spring flooding crested at not quite a foot of water in the field. We were worried it would be another record setter though as many towns along the rivers to the north of us saw damage from historic floods.

U2360 Scrapbook Page

Another super easy double page layout for my Photo Of The Week scrapbook.
WOW, what a concert experience !!!!!

At the time I attended this concert, I did not have a camera that could take a panorama shot. I took 3 photos as close together as I could then used Photoshop Elements to weld them together. Although not perfect, it did make for an okay final panorama photo.

There are no photo labs locally that print Panorama size prints and they can be pricey online, especially when you need to add shipping costs, too. I decided to use Photoshop Elements to insert the photo into two 8x10 size canvases, breaking the photo into two. I then bought two prints on sale for 40% off at our local Walgreens store that when put together in the album will make a panorama print !  NOTE: although I thought I had the wording spaced out well enough on the two prints, they came back chopped off differently than I intended. They are close enough to go ahead and use them.


Textured Basic Black card stock from Stampin' Up! for the base.

Whisper White and Red card stocks cut with my Cricut Create and Don Juan cartridge.

I really wanted to sponge inks on the bottoms of the numbers and letters to create a gradient effect like the bands tour logo, but it was just too splotchy looking for my liking. Perhaps it they were glossy card stocks and I could have used a brayer it would have looked better.

I need to find the logo pin or sticker I have around here somewhere so I can attach it to the page to the left of the U2 die cut.

"Magic" Greeting Card

What a lovely surprise in the mail over the weekend -

this hand made, cheery Magic Card !!!

I've never made one of these types of cards myself, 

they've always intrigued me though.

The paper is handmade by daubing on inks

it looks like.

I recognize the stamp image as being an old one 

from Stampin' Up!

It was in the set Nice and Easy Notes I'm pretty sure.

SUPPLIES/HOW TO:

Decorative background paper, an old Die Cuts With A View stack.

White lightweight "cardstock" that was in the scrapbook I bought.

I made a double score line along the top and bottom edges

(isn't visible in the photos).

Pale Plum card stock (Stampin' Up!) under the photograph.

Vellum die cut flowers were part of an assemble it yourself kit I found

at a yard sale a few years ago. 

Thin strips of Gable Green (Stampin' Up!) card stock for the stems.

I had some polka dotted light green ribbon that would have been really 

cute to use, but it was too wide for my liking :(

Paper punched bumble bee with googlie eyes I made myself.

This is the one photo, out of the 42 I submitted,

that was chosen as the Photo Of The Week

for our local newspaper !!!!!!

I have the newspaper clipping to be mounted

on another scrapbook page, a simple one.

Texturz plate used on the Real Red piece.

Distressed the edges of the black under the photo.

Scallop edge border punch and corner punch.

Rhinestones . Probably overkill for this basic page,

but they reminded me of the water drops

on the cannas that I captured in the photo.

Taking A Break

For anyone that may follow my blog, I wanted to let you know that I will be having surgery today so until I am recuperated enough to make it down to my craft dungeon, I won't be able to make anything new to share. I thought about dragging some supplies upstairs to work on projects, but I know that I couldn't possibly bring everything I'd want up, there would always be something else I needed ;)

That is going to be the most difficult part about this for me, not being able to walk down the 15 steep stairs to stand and work at my table (or lift things, etc) for a while :(  I'll take this time to redo a photo album or two. I have several pocket albums I want to reorganize before I start putting all of the other photos that have been in boxes for years into albums. Plus there are hundreds more digital photos to sort through to decide which to print not to mention the hundreds and hundreds of photos I've had printed this year that need to be put into the albums I purchased recently............ I also have a large stack of documents that I could scan and a photo disc to start working on that I plan on giving the relatives this Christmas.  I have more than enough things I could do while being banished from my basement craft dungeon these next couple of weeks !

I have scheduled several scrapbook page posts to be published over the next three weeks, one every three days.
