All Sentimental @ Moving Along with the Times

Hi guys,

I am currently in Tenerife with limited internet access, but I will hopefully be able to enter some challenges with this card when I get back. Our new challenge at MAWTT, chosen by Wendy, is to have the sentiment as the focal point of your card. Can you even have a creation that is all sentiment and no image?

So my sentiment does have a couple of brids on it, but they are part of the sentiment :) This is from Tattered Lace, and the card base I got in a bag of die-cuts from a charity shop, but I thought it was perfect. I can then add a personalised name to the patch on the snowglobe stand.

Furry Christmas

I have finally got round to making a Christmas card. I have been meaning to start making some for a while, but keep getting distracted by birthday making instead lol. But here is my House Mouse Christmas card:

I printed the image from my CD-Rom and then die-cut using X-cut scalloped circles die. I already had the pine branches in my die-cut stash so I used these behind the sentiment to frame the image. The sentiment was from the CD-Rom also. I took some musical grid patterned paper (from another collection on the same CDRom) and printed this in a yellow ochre (it is difficult to see it in this photo but it does create a musical grid behind the image) before die-cutting with M&C stitched squares die.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
WinterWonderland - Anything Christmas Goes
Addicted to CAS #153 Grid
AYLI - Birthday or Christmas - I do love creating for Christmas as I love feeling festive
AHSC #304

 CASology #332 Furbaby
Simon Says Wednesday - No stamps allowed

BINGO @ Aud Sentiments

I went for the full house for our new challenge over at Aud Sentiments, where we are sponsored by All Dressed Up.
Here is the BINGO board to follow:
And here is my creation:

I ebossed a frame onto a 6x6 square card blank and highlighted the embossed areas with cosmic shimmer paste. I die-cut a stitched frame into some feather patterned paper in purples (one of my favourite colours). I coloured the image with promarkers and then fussy cut it before adding to come out of the square frame. I added a purple ribbon 3D bow and a foiled hunkydory sentiment to finish.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
craftycalendar - Add texture and ribbon
SOS #389 Make your mark
PFP #481 Colour it
CRAFT #502 Fantasy

Thanks for taking the time to look at my creations,

No patterned paper @ I Love Promarkers

Well it is time for a new challenge over at I Love Promarkers, and we have the gorgeous IKEsART digis  sponsoring us for this one. The theme for this fortnight is - no patterned paper.

I coloured the image with Promarker pens, and I kept the sentiment on the image too. I then die-cut a heart frame out of red glitter card. I slotted the dragon just behind the frame and then added a black glitter flower in the bottom corner.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
PFP #481 Colour it
SOS #389 Make your mark
The Male Room #105 No Design Paper
dragonflydreams - include a heart
cardmania #113 love is in the air

Shabby Birthday Wishes

So a new challenge started over at MAWTT on Thursday. I do like to try and play along with Team B's themes too, that way I can bring your attention to the challenge also, however this theme is not one of my strong points. So I have attempted, and this is what I did:

The image was a pre-coloured digital image from my House Mouse CD-Rom. Anybody that knows me would think this image is just perfect :D.

I simply cut the image around the printed border. I used a pale yellow card blank and stamped a patchwork square all over, using pretty colour rainbow ink, to give a shabby background - or I think it is anyway. I then stamped the flower from the same stamp set (free with a magazine) using black ink, and coloured them using watercolour pencils. I fussy cut the flowers, layered the image onto the card base, and then added a flower to each of the corners using glue dots.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Cute Card Thursday #569 Wings
Allsorts #507 Kitchen
Sweet Stampin' - Love Your Pet
Addicted to stamps #171 Anything but a square

I am hoping to get the base sorted for my patio this weekend, and the rubble put into the bottom ready for tamping down. Then I might actually be able to get onto my drive properly too. Only problem is I am on clay soil and so it needs to be dry to dig without getting mud stuck everywhere - and it has just started to drizzle!! Grrr.

Here is a picture of where I am at at the moment:
As you can see there is a lot of hardcore to get rid of and on the right hand side (just off the camera shot) is still some cement that I am trying to chip away at. It is taking a little bit of hard work lol. I think I may need a new spade by the time I am finished!

Anyway enjoy your weekend, whatever you are doing,

Irresistible Love

Hi guys,

So as I said last week I used the wrong images for my DT card for Creative Moments. So here is the card I should have made - and I am using it as a reminder that our challenge is still open for another week, and the optional twist for this one is Love.

I layered the images from Decosse Dynamite Doodles on the computer before printing. The sentiment came in several colour ways so I played around and chose the one that I thought looked best on the green heart background. I then die-cut the panel using M&C nesting stitched squares. Finally I made the card base using the largest of the dies and some Spring Boutique cardstock in a lovely pastel shade (I won this from a craft magazine competition - I think it was papercraft essentials).

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
dragonflydreams - include a heart
simplycreatetoo #146 use hearts
CCM #227 Love, love, love
TIOT - Romance
TheMaleRoom #104 Love your man
Simon Says Monday - Typography
craftingbydesign - love is in the air

Mortal cupcakes

Hi guys,

I have another new card to share with you after my weekend away at the glamourous Butlins, for their Bootleg Ball live music weekend. I got back and realised I needed to mae a crad with the new limited runs image as I hadn't made it as yet - oops. But here it is:
I used Distress inks in Evergreen Bough, Crushed Sapphire and Clouded Lilac to make the background (blending with a blending tool. I coloured the image using watercolour pencils and then fussy cut before using 3D foam pads to layer onto the card base. I stamped the sentiment using a patchwork free stamp set, and then added blue diamantes to finish.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
MTTC #390 Men only
intaas #51 make your own background
notjustcards - Anything Goes
ikesworld #117 B for Blue

And I also have an audio book review for you - I had to listen to it after going to see it at the pictures. It is Mortal Engines (book 1).

So after watching the film I decided I needed to listen to the book. It starts off very similar to the film, from the viewpoint of Tom, a historian apprentice in the library, however in the book the boy is much younger than he is portrayed in the film, and the reasoning behind why he ends up chasing Hester is different too. This could just be to make it easier to create a film friendly scene however and doesn’t change the story at all. As you work through the story it remains very similar to the film, with a couple of extra bits, that fill out the story but are not necessarily required. However, once Hester and Tom are taken by the scavengers to be sold into slavery the story changes completely. Shrike is not in a top security prison, but is instead being held in London so that they can learn how to make new undead warriors. Miss Fang does not spend as much time with the two of them, as they leave her at Airhaven and continue their journey separately, although they do end up with her airship after going to the shield wall with her later on in the story. The book is definitely written from the view of a younger person, and there is more adventure and action, which is easier to explain in a book than on film. However, the biggest change is Valentine and Chrome who swap places in the film. I can see no reason for this, other than to make it easier for the audience to be glad he dies. Also, the film has a much happier ending than the book, but the book is more realistic and less fantastic. I really enjoyed both the book and the film as separate entities.

Use a die-cut or punch @ I Love Promarkers

Ooops I completely forgot to schedule my DT post for today!!

Our new challenge has started over at I Love Promarkers, and this time we want you to use either die-cuts or punches on your creation - or a combination of both if you are feeling really creative :D.
We are sponsored by the fabulous Bugaboo Stamps for this challenge, who are offering 2 digi images to the lucky winner, and I have used Scene It Celebration Critters for my card.

I used a 6x6" base card and die-cut some thik blue shiney card using M&C stitched square nesting ides from The Works. I also used the next size down to cut the image. The image was obviously coloured with Promarkers.

Promarkers used - Cool Grey 1, Cool Grey 3, Icr Grey 3, Warm Grey 4, Honeycomb, Sndstone, Daffodil Bloom, Primrose, Marigold, Budding Rose, Lavender, Plum Preserve, Indigo Blue and Royal Blue.

To finish I simply added a few peel-offs - I was going to add a punched balloon, but I can't find my punch so that didn't happen - maybe it wasn't mine lol.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Catch the bug - Anything Goes
PFP #479 Flora/Fauna
ATSM #327 Make your mark
613 Avenue Create #218 Use a critter

Sketchy Donuts

So I have once again used my Huse Mouse images from my CD-Rom to create a birthday card - this time based around a sketch!

I used a pastel patterned backing paper on a pale blue card, with glitter border peel-offs across the centre. I layered the image over this and added a peel-off sentiment and corners too. Finally I added various coloured pearls.

The sketch I used is from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.
I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:
613 Avenue Create #218 Use a critter
CCM #226 Add some texture (glitter peel-off ribbons)

I thought you might also like to see some photos of the goslings from summer :) They were ever so friendly :D

And I also thought I would share my nail varnish with you all - it actually wasn't as hard to do as it looks!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog.

Biker Birthday

I have my step-dads birthday coming up before long (and I still have lots of these darned heavily patterned card blanks to use up) so I decided to see if I could mke something to combine the two haha. Here is what I came up with:
I took one of the card blanks in yellow and added a motorbike topper onto this, with a black matted layer. I die-cut some flowers from patterned paper that I had in my stash, using a die I got free with a magazine. Finally I added a birthday sentiment.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Die-cuttin' Divas #405 Anything Goes
CRAFT - Anything Goes
SimonSaysWednesday - Anything Goes

I also thought I should share with you a photo of Simba during the summer :)
