Sublime Stitching, Embroidery

Look what arrived in my mailbox today from Sublime stitching!!

I can't wait to get busy embroidering Christmas Gifts. I am feeling extra pleased with myself that I finished my Christmas Cards months ago!! I'm patting myself on the back for being pro-active!!

I completed knitting a scarf the other night. I need to remind myself on how to cast off and add a little embellishments to make it extra pretty! Once I get myself in order I'll take a pic to share! I just LOVE fall!!

Camping Scene hand towel, Embroidery

This is my latest embroidery piece. I made it as a gift for a friend of mine who has a camper (hey Monica!). I found the patterns at a cool online shop called sublime stitching .com!! The patterns are iron on - my first piece using the iron on technique. It was very simple to apply.

I love embroidering on the large flour sack hand towels. The needle slips right through the fabric (also found on line)! As soon as I saw this camper pattern I KNEW I HAD to get it for Monica! She has it hanging in her camper on her stove handle. I wish I had taken a picture of it's home. Hershners carries these perfect flour cloth hand towels!

Anyways, I'm very proud of this towel! Using the iron on transfer patterns made it very easy to make sure the pattern came out even and perfect! All the lines were where they were intended to be! LOL...I'm learning as I embroider :) Maybe my tracing abilities are not as good as I would like them to be.= iron on patters=A+ in my book!

Decorating Hats

Some of my tea friends and I decided to decorate our own special hats for special tea occasions. The hardest part was finding the perfect hat to decorate! Ultimately I decided to hot glue fabric flowers on the crown of my hat, at the base are faux pearls and a pink lady bug ribbon (that doesn't show up). Also, around the brim of the hat I hot glued lady bugs- which again, doesn't show up in the picture. I hope to glue a lot more lady bugs around the brim and I will hopefully take a better picture of the hat to share what it looks like. In the pic you can see the pearls and pink lady bug ribbon I ended up using on my hat.

Our craft hostess (shout out Tracey) offered a table full of items for inspiration and use on our hats!

More Cricut Cuts

More fun with my cricut~! Unfortunately, previously I really only used my cricut for scrapbook pages. I've never taken the opportunity to utilize it for decorations. These are pretty basic but still a lot of fun to make.

Inside these party favor bags were vintage style candy zots, cow tails, lolipop sticks, etc.) And, because two had the same initials I put a crown to indicate which one belonged to the guest of honor. And, in hindsight I wish I had stamped the paper bags for added character. Aw-well, I'll save that for next time!

Party Favors, Goody Bags

Guest of Honor "Crown" Bag

I've seen others make things similar to this bucket. It is pretty straight forward. Except I'd like to share that I didn't have anything to cover the sytro-foam so I just used some fibers from my stash instead. Also, the bucket is re purposed from an even cuter disney bucket my sister made several years ago.

Happy Birthday Bucket
Cricut Cuts
I haven't been very busy making cards or Scrapbooking. Embroidery and cricut cuts have been taking up all my time. Recently I hosted a birthday celebration so I pulled out my cricut and got busy! Inspired by several different friends party banners I attempted to make one myself. Thanks Monica for letting me borrow your "storybook cricut cartridge". I've been watching ebay hoping to one for myself! No luck yet, but I'm on the hunt!

A close up

I found the crystals and beads at hobby lobby in their jewelry section. I just adore how they add that special little touch. Also, each letter has a smear of pearly stickles and is outlined by glitter pen. I'm not sure the picture really picks up how the banner shimmers.

I think more banners are in my future. It was a lot of fun to make. However, it took much longer than I expected. The final outcome was worth all the effort.Maybe my next one will be easier to do?!
