Stampin' Up! cards

I used some versamark & emboss powders on this card to make some patterned paper as I had no SU DPs I am very pleased with the result the stamp set used is 'simply said' I am blown away by the stamp pads the unusual way in which they 'flip flop' open is marvelous as you can use the lid as a pallet and the ink pads are of a good size too! I am very taken with them. Inks used: More Mustard, Old Olive, Ruby Red & Chocolate Chip. I used an aqua pen to colour in the stamped images. The card stock is More Mustard, Old Olive, and very Vanilla & Ribbon Chocolate Chip. It was so nice to do a project where I didn't have to rummage around for matching inks & ribbon to go with the card and each other.
So as I said in an earlier post, I got my kit through and I have started to make some cards (I need some of the lovely SU papers) and May is a good time to top up with some as it's buy 3 get one free, I'm having a work shop on 7th May and looking forward to putting an order in after that, so I'm being very patient lol (not like me at all) well If I can save some money and get free yummy scrummy papers then I can wait lol. Stamps used : Oval all, Card stock Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Really rust & Pumpkin pie. Ribbon Chocolate Chip and a skura pen to pattern around the edges ink was Brilliance shows up very well here very impressed. I know I sell SU but I wouldn't sell something I didn't totally believe in as a good product. I am only giving this product good feed back as I would any other I use and am happy with.

I love these stamps you should have a look in the catalogue Page 62. I love these stamps 'Gods Blessings' they fit every occasion wedding, sympathy, Christmas, Birthday, new born, the list goes on, a really really good buy I am so glad I got these. You can make a focus of them as I have here or use them as the verse in side. So versatile I just had to have them. Stamps used: 'Gods Blessings' & 'Oval all' CS Old Olive, Chocolate Chip & Very vanilla. Ribbon Chocolate chip. Inks Old Olive & Ruby Red all SU. I hope you like them please leave a comment I value your imput and I can visit you blogs too. Love Dawn xx

You must be aware of the wonderful draw Max’s Craft Creations is doing, a very novel way of giving candy away. She has been giving candy away every day since Easter and what wonderful stuff there has been. Me, I haven't won anything like this before so I was amazed when I went back and saw my name I checked several times .... well I thought I must be reading it wrong, there must be some mistake lol

And just look at this yummy stuff. So many brads and lovely yummy flowers, what can I say??? So a lovely parcel to wait for this week. I am really chuffed to win something and something so good too! Max says she is going to do an advent calender at Christmas. If it's any thing like the Easter one it will be truly worth entering. Max also has a fab blog too, she has some lovely inspiration and is very creative. I'm glad I found the blog, and she is a lovely person. Thank you again Max Love Dawn xx

Some little boy cards for you I have used basic grey cupcake DP here (hint this can be won in my free stash give away) the stamps are Sugar nellie and Woodwear and setiment stamps are WOJ and hobby craft thought I would show you the insides too.
On the second card I tried a new technique, you can't see it that well in the photo but what I did was use (thick) emboss powder on it (a couple of layers (three should do it) then put it in the freezer for about 10 min. when you bring it out it looks a bit curled (don`t worry) you then flex the card and it cracks ( the emboss Powder) and it`s a really nice effect you can put some distress ink (as I have here) so the cracks show up more. It was enjoyable to do and another way of adding texture give it a go and let me know how you go I would be interested to see your creations.

Please leave a comment and let me know if you have tried this technique or used these papers I would love to have a look.

Chit Chat

Hello to all my followers and thank you for joining me, I hope you will keep popping back, and that my blog is interesting to read. The weather has been great here in the NW of the UK for a few days. I have had my spring cleaning head on lol and the house smells lovely and I have bought fresh flowers (I usually have fresh flowers in my bedroom all the time as I spend a lot of time in there on the comp) But now there in the kitchen and living room too! I love fresh flowers.
How much washing? the amount of washing two teenagers can make in just a week! is astonishing don't you think? one minuet your telling them to change 'cos they smell the next, they go the other way and wear three or four sets of clothes a day! above is a photo taken at Christmas (the tree in the back kinda gives it away) lol And with them is our lovely dog Dita (a Japanese Akita) she was a rescue. More about her in another post!
They are back at school/collage now, thank heavens and my fridge is taking a well earned rest. lol How much does your shopping bill go up when yours are off school? Mine eat so much (although my 15yr old Matthew on the right above) is bigger than me and I'm not small at 5'10 lol the collage student :-) Shawn (on the left (obviously lol) will be seventeen next Monday Oh how they grow. And these photos are six month old, I'm sure they have grown again, I can rarely get them together for photos, I love the top one but this is my fav as it's an action shot (they can be so funny) So really with them two and lovely Hubby it's like living with three men always hungry and for ever leaving a mess where ever they go ( I have to exclude hubby from the mess thing lol he tidys up after all of us lol) He is one I wouldn't swap for all the tea in china. He is the best. he's another one who doesn't like his picture taken lol but there is one on here of him asleep with our grandson James (give you a hint It's in March archive) and it's such a lovely photo I scrapped it and put it on here! well enough chit chat for now but will put some more posts on and get some ready for the hospital later. (that's a whole other story lol). Please leave a comment, Love Dawn xx

Sugar Bowl ch8

I liked this sketch so much I have used it for another challenge! It's a really good one they are so clever at the Sugar bowl. This stamp is lovely isn't it? so cute and reminds me of child hood so much! I thought the papers from basic grey were fantastic for children's cards (especially boys) as you can so often have flowers on everything. That why I went for circles layers (like a flower). And I'm giving some away in the Candy stash give away so you could have your very own! I have used them more than once this week!

Items used: Sugar Nellie Stamp 'where's mine' Basic Grey papers 'cupcake' sentiment is from stash! as is the brad and inks (think they're called papertake or something like that, there very good) I bought them on e-bay over a year ago I got loads for about £8 was a bargin and they are really good and they have lasted too! which is a bonus lol hope you like, please leave a comment and don't forget to enter my stash give away! Love Dawn

WOJ ch26

I love these challenges Whiff of Joy (WOJ) is a colour challenge B&W with a splash of colour! (you also have to use a WOJ stamp! And I have to say these sentiments I bought I use on all sorts, such a good buy (getting my moneys worth from these I can tell you) lol so as you can see mine is red. I'll put some more posts up later today I was busy yesterday so I'll share a few of the many I made.I have started doing the inside too! (well have for since started blogging) an I have to say I enjoy it so much I feel the card is better for the receiver as it's more finished! Yummy Muffins

I saw Monica had made a yummy cake yesterday, she is SO talented. Any way with that in mind when I went shopping today I saw some lovely edable things to put on a cake (and the pots they came in would be very useful afterwards for putting crafty goodies in) Yes I'm an addict lol. Where was I.... waffling again. What with Monica's cake and the lovely cake sweeties I thought I would make some muffins (I'm not in Monica's class by a long way) but I know they will be all gone this evening (any time I cook my boys eat it lol) I hope you like my cooking craft spot, please leave a comment, lol Love Dawn xx

Cupcake 34/Sketch Sat 45

These divine papers arrived yesterday K&Co Journey papers, talk about LUSH! and I wanted to enter these two challenge blogs Sketch Saturday lovely sketch I will use again & again & Cupcake Challenge you had to use folds (at least two) well I haven't really folded paper on cards or scrap books come to think of it, so this while not out of my comfort zone completely, made me do something I hadn't done before and this is the result. I had to do two challenges, well they are pretty super challenges are they not? lol what with the papers and the designers as inspiration how could I go wrong?

I don't even know any one who is 21 yet but I had to use the key and well, you understand what it's like to be an addict don't you? lol I'm getting very creative I couldn't find a flower to match so I made one out of ribbon (I think this is because one of the previous challenges you had to make your own flower). You can see why challenges are good to enter, they give you good ideas that you can use in other projects too! better stop waffling.....

And the items used : hold your breath there's a few lol the wonderful K&Co 'key', & 'design papers', from journey range (so yummy and lots of other matching things, which I bought oopps!) Papermania brads, Dove craft 'charm brad', Making Memories letters, American craft 'numbers (from the thickers range which I coloured to match)' and finally the ribbon that was all ready in my over flowing stash... I so need a bigger room (notice I will not suggest buying less stash) lol. As always I'd love to hear your comments and why not become a follower and never miss a post! Love Dawn xx

Easter Cards /Stampin chic challenge 2

Hi again, I'm getting really excited only a couple of weeks (there abouts) until my web site goes live. I'm meeting with the designer on Thurs. to go over all the things he has done so far. SO EXCITED!!

Any way CARDS I love doing this I really love getting an order and them trusting me to create something wonderful that they will love, (the sentiments have to be put on yet but as this is an order I thought I would leave them off for the blog.)This is also and entry for Stampinchic All to do with hand made flowers well there is some on the card above (love this stamp set I have to say) so it's the top card that is the entry details of what was used below.

Never mind, Any way, I am getting much more confident with taking the photos for the cards now, thought I may need a new fancy camera turns out I just need to get to grips with the manual of the camera I have lol, it's a Samsung L830 and cost about £60-£80 not breaking a hole in the bank. The ones recommended by scrapbookers are SLR Olympus DD50 (I think don't quote me) they are £500+ I'm not a serious photographer although I would like to get better maybe in the future I will.

Items Used: well the Easter bunny card PP are DCWV spring stack and the bunny and daffodils I have had over a year bought off e-bay (forgot I had them to be honest) but I think perfect for this card. Rub on's MM Card stock Core'dinations gems from stash. The top card is made with free papers from a magazine (never throw anything away) normally I wouldn't use papers from mags but these were of such a good quality (not the awful shiny stuff) the paper was of a good weight and double sided bought Spring last year, the daffodils dicuts are from Tesco, stamped flowers Claire Curd (papermania) coloured with whispers watercolour pens.

I love Easter it's my favorite time of year (religious wise) better than Christmas! it's Spring the Sky's are turning blue the birds are all frisky lol and the grass is growing all that new growth and hope given and the saviours atonement for us all that we may yet live with our Heavenly Father again, if we but repent and come un to him. I really love Easter and all that it represents. It's not all about bunny's and eggs (although if I don't get a chocy egg I will be very disappointed) lol as usual if you would like to become a follower so you never miss a posting, click on follower down the left hand side, and please feel free to leave comments I love seeing what you have written all you feed back is welcome. Love Dawn xx

50s cards/ A spoon full of sugar ch 46

This card works well with a challenge too A soon full of sugar I had done lasts weeks challenge but looks like I missed it. I love the DT egs I hope they like this. There is such a cute story behind this I thought I would share it with you. My cousin has her own butty shop yummy stuff there I can tell you. any way a Gent came in and was chatting as you do, and he said "I was looking for a card for my Ex-Wife and I can't find one any where". well good ol' Chezie says her cousin makes cards I'm sure she can come up with something for you so he gives his order specifics it has to have 65, happy birthday, to my Ex-wife, and she is into the 50s. Here is the cute story, aah they got divorced years ago and lost contact for ages they get on with their life's in the mean time she re-marries and he gets a lady friend quite by accident they get in touch again (don't know how) and now they go out as a foursome aah they have lots of the same interests no jealousy etc. all get on really well hence sending her a card I thought that was lovely.
Back to the cards, I didn't want to make just one card thought it would be nice to offer a choice. the top one is the example I will show (she may not like Elvis) so I made matching sentiments for all the other cards and put them in the packet this way he can choose and I can make it up for him while I'm there and not use five cards (well it is a specific card) and then the others can be sold when ever, the 50's is going to be big this year (that's my tip) (very fashion conscious lol not) I bought some vintage 50s dresses I love the old tea dress style and I see the 50s style is making a subtle come back in Tescos so I won't have to pay vintage prices either YAY!
I really like this one such movement in the vintage photo, I really like it (this is the one I think he will choose) I will let you know which card he went for next week end (if I remember? I will honest Guides Honor)

This is just clip art off the computer I'm not that keen on this but I have to make for all taste when its a special order and let them choose (all part of the service) lol choice is key
My dad had a juke box for years (old pub style you can see the records going one etc,) He got rid of it eventually but we all loved playing the old 45s when we went to his house me & Michael(hubby) more than the kids lol
