Vintage

Hi Everyone,

I have something a little different for you today.  You know how much I love the  Make It Crafty chipboard but seriously have you seen the new chipboard Frames??? Let me tell you they are wicked.  I have used a circular frame, fits together really quickly and then the fun bit begins.  This is what I created.

I coated the chipboard first in Gesso, it's a bit thicker than acrylic paint.  The chipboard bird, birdcage and flowers have all been painted in gesso and once dried I applied some Tim Holtz Picket Fence to give it that crackle vintage feel.  This was also applied to the edges of my image and the pearls, and wherever else I fancied.  Isn't that birdie cage just beautiful.

And here's a close up of some of the make it crafty flowers.

Do you remember the Heart Dies from Marianne Designs, bet you do, a few of me blamed me for your purchases.  Well naughty me I've used it again.  This time I have nested the small one on top of the larger one.  The little charm is also a new release from Marianne Design.

And to save you scrolling back to the top, here's the whole vintage frame.

Marianne Design Bird Charm
Flowers from WOC
Cheesecloth
Tim Holtz Picket Fence Crackle paint
Melissa Frances Shabby Chic Corner
White Gesso
Paper is by Pion

Anything Goes at Crafts and Me

Hi Peeps,

Busy week this week, parent's evening last night and tonight I'm chauffering to a football match..... hurry up and pass your driving test son, although have you seen the price of car insurance for young lads today, OMG, quotes in the region of £5,000.  Cheapest is about £3,000 for third party on the lowest insurance group possible.  Seriously, this is just encouraging youngsters not to bother getting any.  Ark at me, now I feel old sound like my mother, lol.

My card today is my DT card for Crafts and Me and the challenge this fortnight is "Anything Goes".  Real easy.  I have used Hampton Art's Kitty in Basket available HERE.

And can you see my little heart, it's one of the Marianne Design Dies and I must admit when I first saw the die it wasn't for me but I really, really like it now, and I'll be using again real soon....

Ingredients:-
Image Kitty in Basket by Hampton Arts
Marianne Design Rose
Marianne Design Linen Rope
Flat backed pearls
Magnolia Doohickey

All in Blue

Hi Everyone,

I have been dying for ages to colour up a Saturated Canary image by the fabulous Krista Smith and what a beauty this one is. So I took the opportunity to combine my DT card for Copic Marker Europe and Make It Crafty together.  I remember a long time ago, when I was a Simply Sassy Girl, writing on Krista's blog that I'd love to see more images with long flowing hair, and this little lady certainly fits the bill.  She came in the E-Book from Make It Crafty which the awesome Zoe has put together to show you how to achieve those defined strands of hair, definitely worth Copic enthusiasts investing in and a must have for practicing hair, and to be honest the best advice I can give anyone who is new to copics is, practice, practice and practice.

And here's my finished card.

I also have a new camera, yayyyyyy.  I'm still practicing with that too, so any tips will be greatly welcomed.

Ingredients:-
Image by Saturated Canary available in an E-Book from Make It Crafty

Hi again Peeps,

I know I can be compared to the buses today, none for a couple of days and then two come at once, lol.  I would of posted this yesterday but I wasn't happy with the quality of the photos so waited until today.  But I'm sure you'll agree she was worth posting.

This is Elisabeth J from Make It Crafty and the theme at Make It Colourful for this fortnightly challenge is "using your Reds".  I have coloured her using my copics R35, R37, R39, R89 and my black prisma pencil for additional shading.

Add Grass at Make It Colourful

Hi Peeps,

Yayy its Friday, my favourite day of the week and in particualr today as we are around friends for dinner tonight.

Today we have a new challenge at Make It Colourful which is to add grass.  I also posted my card on the Copic Marker Europe blog and also in case you didn't know, we now have challenges on the Copic Marker Europe blog where you could win 3 copic sketch markers, so definitely worth having a go.

I have these gorgeous papers by Prima and as usual I have matched my paper to my copic marker chart in order to find the colours that match the papers the best.  I have chosen many colours as I stamped this image with the intention of practicing with all these colours, but as I experimented I liked how it turned out so decided to use it for my card.

The image is one of the new fairies from Make it Crafty called Elven Samenah. My only regret is that I didn't make the digi image bigger but I had spent so much time playing with my copics adding the different colours that it was too late to do another image. I have also kept my design simpler to my usual style as the papers were so pretty that I didn't want to cover them up.

I experimented with the wings adding oranges, yellow and greens.

I added in the grass by holding my pens upright and flicking in different directions and using different shades of the greens and the Yellow Greens.

Here's the copics that I used:-

I hope i've inspired you and look forward to reading your comments.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:-
Bloggers - Wings and Things
Fairytale - Something New
Craftuscrazy - Options but I have gone for anything new
My Mum's craft shop - Girls

Re-colour an image at Make It Colourful

Hi Peeps,

Just a reminder that over at Make It Colourful the challenge is to recolour an image that you did earlier in the year.  There's still plenty of time to enter, another two weeks, and as its a colouring challenge you can just enter your coloured image rather than a whole card, how easy is that.

So o.k., here's the card I made earlier in the year............................

And here's my image re-coloured... ummmmm not alot different except I now draw clouds in and tried to make a transluscent balloon so you can still see some cloud behind it, something I wouldn't have done before.

Ingredients:-
Tilda with balloon by Magnolia
Medium - Copics
Lace and butterfly charm from stash
Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Flowers by wild orchid crafts
Martha Stewart branch punch (available from Bunny Zoe on request)

I would like to wish you all a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year and thank you for all the comments that you have left me in 2011, I appreciate each and everyone.

I will be celebrating my 2 year anniversary in January and will have some lovely candy up for grabs, well hopefully two lots, so keep your eyes peeled.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:-
CES - Party
Hiding in my craftroom - Freestyle
Secret Crafter - Anything Goes
Totally Gorjuss - Happy
Wee Memories - Anything Goes

White at Make It Colourful

Oh my goodness I've just realised I hadn't posted my DT card for Make It Colourful on my blog.  I was organised and loaded it into the Make It Crafty gallery but have forgotten my own blog.  The theme is to colour white and you have until Thursday evening to get your challenge card entered..... you still have time...

I have used elements from the Festive collection at Make It Crafty and combined with this gorgeous Tilda.

Light Source From a Lantern

Hi Peeps,

Well I did have my card ready last week but because of the grim winter weather I couldn't get a decent photo so I waited until the weekend, but was so busy that I didn't get round to posting it.  This is my DT card for Make It Colourful with the theme of "light source from a lantern" .  I have used Magnolia images which I actually purchased last year and never got round to inking, think were all guilty of this,  and complimented the card with snowflake chipboard pieces and a swirly corner, both available from Make It Crafty. I embossed them with silver embossing powder and they really come out looking very metallic.

I used my favourite Poinsetta Die from Marianne Designs and cut it out using some flock paper and it embossed lovely, so it has a lovely soft texture.

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:-

My Time to Craft - Two of something (two stamps)
Oldie but a goodie - Let it snow
Shopping our stash - Use a stamp you haven't inked before
Pile it on just- Traditional Christmas
Just Magnolia - Black, grey, red & white (I have used all these colours in my colouring)
Stamptacular - Punch it

Colour Texture at Make It Colourful

Hi Peeps,

It's Friday and although it is the start of the weekend I am looking after a supplier from overseas, so the start to my weekend is a little delayed and will probably commence after I drop them back at their hotel sometime late tonight, grrrrrr.

Today at Make It Colourful the challenge is to create texture using your colouring medium.  I have again selected some of the new Winter Objects from Make It Crafty, I so love these elements to create gorgeous scenes for all those winter and Christmas cards.  I Used two of the tree's and the bench and paired up with my mini magnolia.

The picture isn't brilliant as it was late last night and my craft light did it's best, but it just ain't good enough.  I promise I will re-take but as I am entertaining an overseas's supplier I'm sad to say it may be Saturday morning before I get the opportunity. (REVISED - new picture below)

Ingredients:-

Winter Objects by Make It Crafty
Mini Magnolia Tilda
Magnolia Snowflake (forgot I had this)
Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing Folder

Large Snowflake from Asda
Embossed glittered Vellum Paper

I coloured with snow using copics of course and then when I had finished the colouring I used the Copic Opaque White with a very small paint brush and added the snow falling.

The wooden ornament Crystals with embossed with an irredescent embossing powder so they twinkle in the light.

Aren't they just the sweetest and with the additional elements makes for a beautiful scene don't you think.
