Evelyn in Paris

Hi Peeps,

Well what a day I've had with this puppy.  Whilst my daughter sat in her bedroom, right next door to the bathroom, and her door was open, Ollie helped himself to the toilet roll and ripped it to shreds on the landing floor.  Apparently she didn't see or hear him.  Then whilst my Son was sitting in the lounge my sister popped an envelope through the door with some money in it and when I first came down the stairs I thought the trail of toilet paper had also gone down the stairs, but nope, he'd eaten the Queen's head on the £20 note!!! The silver bit is still in it and the serial no. so hopefully I cellotape what I have and well the missing inch is in his tummy.  Teenages huh, aren't they just great, too much trouble for them to look after him for 5 minutes. Grrrrrr.

I've just got back from puppy training where he has heeled perfectly and learned a new skill of turning left without a problem and looked like butter wouldn't melt. Good little Ollie, What do you think?

OK little rant over, onto my card. Well the challenge at Make It Colourful this fortnight is "Autumn Colours".  I must admit when the great Zoe showed us the Paris elements they scared the hell out of me but if you look at recent hop where THREE companies came together namely, Make It Crafty, Whimsy Stamps and Little Miss Muffet the inspiration those girls gave us was A-mazing!

I have used one of the scenes that Zoe pre made available HERE and added the Penny Farthing and Evelyn from the Paris Collection at Little Miss Muffet HERE. I really enjoyed colouring this scene, hope you like it.

I added the shadows in on the Penny Farthing after seeing Jane's absolutely fabulous scene.  Jane is an artist and her attention to detail is second to none, well worth a visit.

Valentine Masquerade

Hi Peeps,

Do you ever start crafting and 3 hours later you haven't actually achieved anything?  Well this is me this week, suffering from Crafters Block.  I have had no inspiration at all and with a long list of to do's I really need my brain to function.  I can also do with a cleaner but I guess that isn't going to happen either, lol. It has taken me a couple of days to come up with my card for today and I have kept inside very plain for me.

I have used the image Valentine Masquerade by Jasmine Becket-Griffith available right HERE. I have  coloured her using my copics and then I added some mist using a sponge and a white brilliance ink pad.

Sorry, definitely picture heavy......

I made a gatefold card using the gorgeous Marianne Design Creatables Anja Edge LR0202

Papers are Melissa Frances and Basic Grey

The leaf die used with the floral arrangement in the right hand corner is also a Marianne Design Creatables Decorative Elegance LR0157

Flowers are a combination of WOC and Marianne Design.

The punch used on the edge is a Martha Stewart punch and the red ribbon is from my stash.

A Basket of Poppies

Hi Peeps,

Today's card is a little different from my normal choice of cute images and is my DT card for the Copic Marker Eurpope Blog.  If you've not been over in a while you really should check out the inspiration.  A diverse team with so many different styles so always something different to see. And... did you know we have a challenge going on.  It's an easy one, "doodling".  Just include some doodling on your creation and there's also a tutorial on this.  You can check it all out HERE.

O.K. onto my card.  I chose my paper first which is by Magnolia and is a vintage red.  When placed next to my copic chart matched perfectly to the "R80" range. My image is  floral display of Poppies from Tiffany Doodles.

I have coloured some of the poppies using R85, R83, R81 and then coloured some using R89, R85, R83.  By just replacing one copic (R81 for R89) creates a darker shade and gives a contrast in the colours as you can see.

For the leaves I have used YG67, YG63, G20.

The basket placed at the bottom of the floral poppies was cut using the

Marianne D Craftables - Flower Basket (CR1208)

I gave the poppies some dimension by adding foam tape so they stand out from the basket.

I really hope you have enjoyed seeing something different from me today and I appreciate any comments you may leave.

Distressed at Crafts and Me

Hiya Peeps,

Well I'm frustrated.  I wrote this post last night, did all the links and it didn't go live, in fact when I checked it didn't exist, grrrrrrrrr. Been another long night, I did venture to the gym straight from work, so well done me. I then walked from the gym to Sainsburys which is only about a 7 minutes walk, to get some coke but they had buy one get one free, so I ended up with 4 lots of 8 cans and a couple of other bits.  It was at the point of leaving the shop that I wished I had driven, lol.  So an hour's session and two dead weights followed by my gym bag over my shoulder and handbag, ummmmmmmm, definitely punishment.  Then I had to pop by my Mum's who is misbehaving for the Carers and whilst there I get a call from my Daughter who was scrapping with my Son over Chips!  Seriously, is this my life, lol.........

Well what I should of posted yesterday is my DT card for Crafts and Me and it was my turn to chose the theme and I have gone with "Distressing".  So however you interpret be it inking edges, tearing paper, adding paint etc. etc. you get the gist.

I have used one of Crafts and Me new images which will be released any day, as soon as Teresa gets her internet working, lol.  She is called "Emerald Fairy".

And from another angle.

And another .......

Hope you'll hop on over and join us Rubber Girls!

Spring Colours at Make It Colourful

Hi Peeps,

I'm so exhausted from coughing that this is a short and sweet post until I get home from work.  I did give in after 17 days of being ill and visited the Doctors yesterday, mainly because Sunday night I was coughing until 4 in the morning and then OH's alarm goes off at 5:15 so its disturbed sleep knowing it's me next.  Long and short of it is I have some strong medicine and have to take it for a few days and if no improvement, off I pop back again.

My card for you today is for the theme at Make It Colourful of "Spring Colours". I've gone with the lilac colours and have used the Australia Outback by Make It Crafty and paired the background up the Australian Tilda, perfect!

I will be back later to add the ingredients. In the mean time there's lots of inspiration from the DT on the Make it Crafty Gallery.

Don't forget my CANDY HERE.

Celebrations BunnyZoe

Hiya Peeps,

Hope everyone had a great weekend, it was nice to see some follower's faces at Stamperama yesterday and to meet my fellow DT Jane.  Am sooo excited as Jane, waving hi, has asked me over to come over to play for a day, yayyyyyyy, can't wait to see Jane's pink studio.

It's BunnyZoe challenge time again, gosh doesn't it come round quick, and this month the theme chosen by Moi is, "Celebrations".  So a nice easy one for you, and to show you how easy it is my celebration is........... Just Because....................

I have used the image ChangeaBelles - Every Belle by Belles and Whistles availabe at BunnyZoe.

And for the first time for I have paper pieced.  I have used the Prima 6 x 6 Pixie Glen paper pad. and stamped the image onto two different sheets of patterned paper, one for the apron and another for the skirt and then used my copics/prisma pencils to add a little depth.

Friday, 10 February 2012

Hiya Peeps,

I'm back again with a sneak preview of what is being unveiled by Crafts and Me this Sunday at Stamperama Stevenage.  The image is called  Scarlet Sofa  by Jasmine Beckett-Griffiths and will be available to purchase from Crafts and Me online after the show depending on stock.

I have to admit my mojo was missing when I made this card.  I have decided that I must of had flu, correction, still have flu. I have been unwell for two weeks now and have been struggling to talk without coughing for most of this week. With the snow falling from the sky I won't be venturing out of my house and will be praying for the rain to come on Saturday and clear it all away so I can drive to Stamperama on Sunday.

Futuristic Willow

Hi Peeps,

I'm still full of cold with and now with a cough, which is doing my head in.  Hopefully I'll be able to breath and sleep easy by the time the weekend gets here.  This mornings card is a DT card for Tickled Pink and this is also my last DT card for TP.  I have completed my DT term and with the many changes going on, the main one being that Kellie has decided to go digital only, which I completely understand, but as you know I am primarily a rubber girl, so I have decided to have some more time to play, well that's the plan anyway.

So without further ado, this is Lil Futuristic Willow ready for action.

Don't forget to hop on over to Tickled Pink to check the rest of the DT out.

Just Roll With It

Hi Everyone,

Brrrr, it's certainly a bit chilly with lots of white snow everywhere, the first snow that little pup Ollie has seen and he's loving it, so much so that he is constantly at the back door wanting to go out and run round and round in the crisp white snow, lol.  Sooooo, on went the boots, hat and gloves and me and Hubby took him for a 45 minute walk where he thoroughly enjoyed himself and eventually went to sleep when we got home, bless.

I have tried my luck with pencils once again on Kraftstock, just love the look and rather a more cleaner look card style, well actually probably the most clean and simple style card that I do.  I do try now and then to be different. I was going to turn her into a valentine card but decided that I needed some pink girly time as I have done so much red recently.

I have used Kraftin Kimmi's  "Roxy" and right now she's on sale, just click HERE

Red Riding Hood

Hi Everyone,

I've still been a bit poorly with little sleep or inspiration.  I didn't venture into yesterday today and thought I'd be able to catch up on my sleep.  When I leave for work in the morning at 07:30 I usually pop Ollie the pup in my daughters bedroom and he usually falls back to sleep on top of the bed, so I thought this morning I would get up and bring him into my bedroom. Wrong! As soon as I brought him upstairs the door bell rang, driver collecting a parcel which set him off.  I returned with coffee and at 08:00 doorbell goes again, parcel for daughter.  You'd think I was the only one living at my house, daughter still in bed and son just about to leave and i'm the only one who can open the door!  Just settled again when Ollie found some socks on the floor and scarpered under my bed.  I managed to retrieve them and hide them under hubby's side of the bed.  He seemed to settle and I finally got under my covers set to get at least another 30 minutes sleep, right.......nope. He had sneakily pulled back the covers on OH's side and found the hidden socks and was munching again.  I decided this wasn't going to work and came downstairs, let him out in the garden for him to do his bicon buzz. Then I thought a shower might make me feel better but someone, daughter grrrrrrrr, had switched the hot water onto off instead of timed, it really wasn't my day...............

Rant over.  I have a new card for you which I did for the Copic Marker Europe blog and also my DT card for the Crafts and Me Challenge which is bright colours and I figured "Red" was bright, right. Have you seen the new artist at Crafts and Me????? Her name is Zindy Nielsen and she has the most amazing life images.  I have used Red Riding Hood and coloured the image in black and white with only her hood in red.  I'm loving this colour combination at the moment.

I would normally match my papers to my copic chart to pick out the colours I am going to use but as I have used mainly black cardstock and white papers, it didn't matter which colour markers I chose to work with, but I was looking for a strong red, so went for R35, R37, R39, R89 and C7 for the darker shaded areas.

I have used most of the Cool Greys. I coloured her dress using C3, C1, C00

The tress in the background have also been coloured with the same combination.

I have used C1, C00 on her face with only a touch of C3 for the shading areas.  I didn't want her face to look dirty. For the trees in the foreground I have used C5, C3, C1, COO and for her hair I have used C7, C5, C3.  By using different combinations of the greys I have tried to make the image contrast rather than appearing flat by using one combinatiion everywhere.  Hopefully you can see this.
