I hope you all had a sunny & pleasant weekend.

Staying home, home, home for us. That was good.

I suppose the boys needed/wanted to stay home, like when they were during their summer vacations. School day rhythm is just not the same, that's for sure. We're soon going to get used to it, but for the moment being, we try to get new habits.
Speaking of habits, we've recently changed a bit our food habits, and have been eating fruits & veggies (the boys too !) like crazy. Man is frugivore, anyway. And there are still peaches, cantaloupes, plums and tomatoes, so we try to make the most of them before it's not the season anymore. Grape is already ripen here & so deliciously juicy & sweet. Soon apples, pears & butternuts. Can't wait !
I'll probably bake apple/prune/rolled oats muffins tomorrow. Can't wait neither.

I've been feeling very crafty these days & I couldn't be happier. After such a long period of summer craft lethargy, I'm so happy to be inspired & motivated !
On Friday morning I sewed a tote that U needed for school. No pattern, no sophistication, it was simple, and he was so super happy that I took time (most morning indeed) to make it for him specially. I can tell you it motivated me to make more things for my loved ones !!

In the same spirit, I had flannel napkins making on my To-Do list for a long time now, and I've finally started tackle this one. I finished the first set of 4 napkins (white with yellow flowers), and have started a second set. I had bought flannel in Paris before moving, enough to make 5 sets of 4 napkins. These are the first ones ...I'll be super sincere with you (like I always am, anyway) and must say that I used to hate flannel. My mom had flannel sheets, and for a long time I thought flannel was only for "old people". (yep, that was sure the opinion of a teen, I agree ! LOL) I think I have changed my mind, specially after living two years around Paris, I had bought flannel sheets, those I previously hated ! The irony !
I'm planning to buy flannel on Etsy (because there are so many lovely prints, and I think I also saw organic flannel) and make pillow cases for the boys & us. So, yeah, you can call me "grandma" now, for enjoying flannel, ah ah !

OK, time to go.
I wish you all a fabulous start of the new week !

  1. you and i must be on a similar schedule - and it seems that we live in very similar climates. i just washed off a bunch of grapes to snack on while i make some salsa. and i too have been feeling much craftier these days - i find that the slightly cooler weather is quite invigorating. gone are the overly hot lethargic days of summer! bring on the flannel.

  5. I love that you can just "whip" up a fabulous bag, now with all your craft space set up and organised so beautifully. It must feel so satisfing to be able to do the task from begining to end so quickly and efficiently. It does look super, thrilled for you to be able to enjoy handing Umberto this "tote of love". I wish I had a craft space. All my bits and peices are scattered about my tiny home :o(
Love the beautiful yellow fabric you've used for the napkins, just beautiful.
