Last weekend was a busy one for us! Dan came home Friday and we got to spend some quality family time together. Saturday, our handyman started tiling the kitchen floors and it was so loud that the kids were uneasy about all the noise. They would turn towards us and make noises everytime they heard a loud noise, so we had to get them out of the house. Since the SCT picnic was canceled due to rain, we went shopping!
Since we have so much shopping to do for our trip, one of them furniture, we loaded them in the car to go shopping. We need to buy us and the kids bedroom furniture since there are more selection over here and they are shipping everything for us, might as well!
We took the kids to Rooms to Go first and they did OK, considering Tobin was a little cranky. He's been like this for the past month, just clingy cranky. I think it's just a phase he's going through, not teething b/c he just finished w/all that. We saw kids furniture that we really like and will get for them. Not that I'm rushing them to get out of cribs, I'd prefer them to stay in cribs for as long as they can, but we have to be prepared should they decide not to be in cribs anymore when we're in Saudi (ie: climbing out of crib). I'm gonna bypass the toddler beds and go straight to twin beds and we'll prolly get the bedrails in the beginning. The sticker shock of buying all three bedroom furniture is a little overwhelming! I didn't have their snack cups w/me but had snacks in our bag and that kept them happy.
Of course we got lots of comments. I just grined and moved on, but I really should be my sarcastic self.
"are those triplets"- maybe
"oh wow, did you make that (referring to the stroller)"- yes w/all our free time
"what lovely girls you have"- thanks but they are hippy boys and a girl
"wow never seen this before"- really I see it all the time
So anyways, it was getting close to their lunch and we needed to go somewhere else besides home to let the kids eat and stretch their legs, we called Julie b/c she was so close. Luckily she was awake so we picked up Arby's for everyone and headed ove there. Kids munched on Arby's roast beef sandwiches, popcorn chicken and applesauce...ordered 3 kids meals, too cute!!!
We drove them around for their nap and then went to RoomStore when they woke up. After a long day of shopping we came home and Dan's parents and Matt came by for a visit.
Us @ the Roomstore (Hudson, Tobin and Skyler). BTW this is the bedroom furniture we decided on for us. We're gonna get the kids theirs at Rooms to Go.

They love the stairs!

Next to loving the stairs, they couldn't get enough of playing w/the faucet. (Tobin, Hudson & Skyler)

The next day, we took them to Gallery Furniture in the morning and they really loved watching the monkeys and birds. We even saw "Mattress Mac" and he said it's the first time he's seen triplets there, he had seen quints before. I remembered the snack cups and it made everything A LOT smoother! Ricky, our handyman was over finishing up the kitchen floors, he didn't want us to go too long w/o being able to use the stove. I'm so glad he finished the floors that day!
When they went down for their nap, Julie came by to babies sit so Dan and I can go to Star Furniture, Bel Furniture and re-visit Rooms to Go so we could make a final decision on all the furniture. Can't wait to buy everything, too bad all these nice furniture won't be in this lovely house of ours! I guess we'll make the Saudi home "home" to us.
