Pumpkin patch (10.24.09)

This was a spur of the moment outing. Dan came home from working (on a Saturday); he's been busy w/all of these job fairs and he noticed a nearby local church had pumpkins out. So we took them there and they had a blast. There was no one there so we had the place to ourselves. They really enjoyed being outside. It was time to leave when Hudson & Tobin kept heading for the street. YIKES!!! The ladies there were kind enough to let these guys roam around and do what ever they wanted. We gave them a donation at the end for their kindness.

Skyler and I got to spend some one on one time Sunday morning. I took her to Kroger to get a few things. I left her in her carseat since I don't have one of those cart cover thing yet, so she was reclined and when she came in the store, you could tell she was excited and not sure what this place was. She heard all the different people talking and the different smells. She liked all those feet kisses I was giving her! And she loved sampling the pastries they had! I'm gonna try to do this every Sunday after breakfast and take each kid out to the store. Daddy was home having fun w/his boys!

more backyard fun

Since the weather's been nice, we finally opened up some of their outdoor bday presents. We've opened up the pool that my mom gave them and the sand/water table that Julie & Rebecca gave them. We haven't had a chance to let them play w/the table yet.

Dan switched out the regular swing seats and glider for the infant seats. Here's all three swinging! Hudson finally decided he wanted to swing that day.

zoo outing (10.18.09)

Last Sunday, we took the kids to the Houston zoo for the first time. They enjoyed being out of the house, I don't think they knew they were at the zoo. :-) We went after their AM nap and had a picnic outside of the zoo once we got there. We found a nice shaded area and had sandwiches. Their was another family who had a triplet stroller too next to us, but the more we looked at them, they had twins and a little older kid. At one point, they got tired of being in the stroller so we let them loose and they were lovin' it! That was our first taste of chasing after kids in a public place! They were all over the place (in a good way). Dan and I received A LOT of comments and we heard A LOT of whispers. One lady even said "you go girl" when she saw me pushing the stroller by myself.

This is an Okapi, it's part of the giraffe family but has the zebra markings, pretty cool! We've never seen this guy before.

schedule

I'm putting this schedule down as a record for my memory book. This is what they've been doing since they turned one.

8ish= wake up and breakfast (sometimes I'm a little late in getting them out)

9-10= play time

10= snack

10-11=play time

11-1= nap

1ish= playtime

2= lunch (after lunch, they watch Baby Einstein DVDs, then more play time)

4-5=nap

5= family walk weather permitting or hanging out w/Daddy

6=dinner

7=play time and have their only bottle

7:45= start bedtime rountine (diaper changes, wipe them down, change clothes, finish bottle, and brush teeth)

8:30= we leave their room, all are sleeping!!!

We are still only do baths twice a week, Wednesday and Saturday, but it does change to accomodate whatever we have going on.

more backyard fun @ the neighbors (10.17.09)

Rick and Jackie, our neighbors who have two little ones invited us over to play in their moonwalk on Saturday. They were at church but their nanny was there to let us in. We did this before the kids afternoon nap. Thanks to Julie for these pix since I didn't bring my camera.

backyard fun w/family! (10/17.09)

The kids had a chance to try it out the playset. We also had both families over on Saturday.
