my DH is the greatest!!! (09.26.09)

Here's some pix I finally downloaded from my hotel stay. I guess I should have taken the bed pic before I messed it up! :-)

Dan has got to be the most wonderful man I know!!! I love him so much!!! He is such an awesome dad and husband! For my birthday on Saturday, he surprised me by booking a room at Hotel Granduca for some relaxing and pampering "alone" time. Alone time??? what's time, haven't had it in a loooooong and was truly missing it! After we put the kids down for the second nap, I headed over there. The first thing I did was take a nice long $ss bubble bath and nice long $ss shower! I didn't have to worry about rushing to get out for anybody or anything, just taking me sweet ole time!!! I even cranked the radio up! I even brought a nice bottle of red wine to enjoy. Jill came by and we had a few glasses before heading out to dinner at Chammp's. That hotel is really gorgeous! The bed is the most comfortiest, softest sheets I've ever laid on!

Dan's family came over to help him with the kids. Julie stayed and help him put the kids down. Dan walked the doggies and headed to the hotel to meet me afterwards. Julie spent the night making sure everyone was OK. This was the first time I left the kids alone at night and did not put them down. It felt really wierd, I mean it was totally nice to get out but I really missed them! Dan left early in the morning to be home before the kids woke up and feed them their breakfast w/Julie. I didn't come home til about 11 bringing back some breakfast from Frank's diner. Thanks Julie for helping Dan, staying w/the kids and giving me some "alone" time!

visit to Dr. Thaller (09.24.09)

The kids went for their second set of shots from their 1 year checkup. They were to get 4 shots including the second flu shot, but they were out of the baby flu vaccine. That's too bad b/c I hate taking them their! There were so many sick kiddos there, hope mine kids didn't pick anything up! We'll have to go back once they have it, in about a 1-2 week.

playdate w/Jennifer's twin babies (09.22.09)

Jennifer and I became friends after sharing similar IVF experiences. She was my nurse at Dr. Hickman's office. She came over for a playdate w/her twins Samuel and Madeline, they are 9 months old. After all the they went through, she is now also pregnant w/a baby boy due January. We had a lot of catching up to do in such a short amount of time! For those of you out there w/o little ones, when you have playdates, the most "adult" time you get is prolly a good hour or so before it's time to go...b/c someone's crying, hungry, etc.
Overall everyone had a good time. It was funny that Skyler hung out w/Sam and Tobin w/Maddie. Hudson was pretty much w/Jennifer and I listening to our conversation. Once again I didn't take any pictures. :(

songs I sing to the kids

There's no pics today, just some thoughts I like to put down before I forget them. Every since they were born and came home, I've been so happy and blessed to finally have the family I've always wanted. I've been singing this song I made up, I guess kinda silly, but it's how I start the day with them:
Today is beautiful (day of the week) morning
all of my babies are healthy
Today is a beautiful (day of the week) morning
all of my babies are happy
I would do this 3 times of course for each one of them. It's kinda corny but in a way it's my hope and prayers that keeps these guys from being severly sick (at least I like to think that). I've been reading all of these other blogs and websites about mommies gearing up for the upcoming cold/flu season and am somewhat nervous about my kids being sick especially with the Swine flu going around. So...PLEASE don't come over if you are sick or have sick symptoms and wash your hands with soap before touching them!!! I know they look very healthy and are very healthy, and that's the way I'd like for them to be! Taking care of triplets is hard enough but when you throw in them being sick, it's just very tiredsome!
Other songs I sing to the kids:
wheels on the bus
zippa di do da zippa di a
you are my sunshine
this old man
5 monkeys

No more AM bottles!!!---more walking update

This morning was our attempt to get rid of the AM bottles and so far so good. When they woke up about 7:45, we immediately feed them breakfast of eggs, pancakes, and whole milk. Then we had a snack for them at 10 with bananas and cereal. They get so excited for the bananas! They had about 10 oz of milk each kid, total 30 oz. and by the time they were done with breakfast and the snack, they had about 6 oz. left total. Not bad, considering the pedi said they would probably only drink 2-6 oz. a day w/whole milk. I'm so glad they didn't miss their bottles at all. We picked today to wean them from the AM bottles since today's Dan's off Friday, that way I could have help in the morning and we have 3 days to get them into this new routine. YEA, I'm so happy it's working out! Will attempt to wean the PM bottles at a later date. I love this, we'll save so much more $ with not having to buy as much formula! Way to go Cote kids!!!
Walking news---Hudson is officially on par with his siblings. He's been taking about the same amount of steps as everyone. They look so funny walking, the boys like to put their arms up, smile/laugh, and walk at the same time, as if they know what they're doing and they like it. Skyler likes to either hold a toy or have things in her mouth. The funniest is when she has these (6) tiny colored teddy bears we have (to help them tell colors) in her mouth and hands and walk.

another triplet playdate, Marie's kiddos (09.16.09)

Marie, another triplet mommy I met through SCT came over on Wednesday for a playdate. She brought her mom, Doris and her kids: Ava, Chloe, and Trevor for some playin' time with my kiddos. Skyler did not know what to make of this, she cried in the beginning when her daughters came in the play room, I guess she was used to being the only "baby girl" around, but quickly over came it. They all had a blast! Alejandra and I put the kids down for their nap at 4 while Marie gave her kids their snacks. That was nice to have company and more "adult" conversation. We were having too much fun, I forgot to take pictures.

Sarah Wyckoff's visit (09.13.09)

Sarah, one of my good friends came to visit us last Sunday. Boy, I guess we had a pretty busy week. She couldn't make their bday party and had some presents for them. She brought them board books, their favorite!!! It was really nice catching up with her. She's been in a lot of local movies so you may see her on the big screen one day!

She's entertaining Skyler while Daddy's holding Tobin.

kiddos outing to their First Bday party (09.12.09)

Kids went to James 1st bday party last Saturday. James is Jill's baby. They did really well there playing so much that we lost track of time and didn't leave until 4:30. They did get to nap in the car ride home so that was good. They got to eat vanilla ice cream, Skyler liked it the most, the boys not so much...maybe b/c it's too cold, don't know. Dan's doesn't like ice cream either b/c it's too cold, hmm, interesting. It was fine until it was pinata time. Jill had the pinata inside the house and she has hardwood floors so when the candy/toys fell, it was so loud that Hudson cried! Then the others cried too, also b/c we were 40 minutes behind on their nap, that's when it's time to leave!

Tobin playing.
Here he is standing, showing off his tshirt. The boys are wearing the "wee devil" tshirts Matt got for them last year from one of his trips.
Daddy taking Skyler to "the moon".

Skyler
Hudson and Tobin playing. They loved this cube toy that has a bunch of knobs and stuff.

More of Hudson and Tobin playing.
Hudson was making himself comfortable, right underneath their coffee table.

It was the cutest thing...Hudson rolling around giggling w/Jill's 5 yr. old nephew Chase.

Mike Viteri's visit (09.11.09)

Mike, one of Dan's good friends came by to visit last Friday and brought us some yummy VN food. Dan and I got to somewhat eat dinner together and engaged in "adult" conversation. Janice, Mike's wife was not feeling well so she did not join us. Of course, Skyler was the only one we could get a picture of him with.

walking and waving update

They all have made more steps since I last posted. Tobin and Skyler are doing the most, about 10-14 steps while Hudson is up to about 4-5. They all look like drunken babies when they do this, it's so hilarious and entertaining!!! Not only are they walking, they like to carry toys with them. Dan was able to capture some video on our camcorder (it'll be a loooong time before I can add it to this blog).
Also everyone can wave their hand. Skyler and Hudson does it with one hand while Tobin uses both. Pretty cute!!!

Tanika's visit (09.09.09)

Tanika's been coming over bringing me lunch and also so I can have some "adult" conversation. Crystal started school so she has some free time now. This is Tobin as I was trying to take a pic of her.

She's holding Skyler while Hudson's climbing over her legs.

Daddy---feeding mess---Skyler's skeeter bite

I sneaked out from the office and caught this pic of the kids hanging out w/Daddy! It was too cute w/Tobin laying like Dan's doing!

Feeding has definitely been messy, I don't know how many boxes of wipes we go through a month now! Costco sure loves getting our bizness! Tobin and Skyler are usually the messiest, but this time, Tobin definitely won! I think they were eating a chicken/veggie meat ball. Look at Tobin, he's got food all over his shirt. Skyler likes to rub her hair with the food especially when it's meat or yogurt! Of course!!!

We went on our daily walk last Wed and Skyler was bitten by a mosquito on her nose. The next day it swelled up w/pus and got all big. I called the pedi and he said to give here Benadryl. It finally cleard up by Monday.
Hudson's the cleaniest, he hardly even gets his seat dirty.

swim @ Marie's (09.04.09)

We went swimming at Marie's last Friday. Afterwards we hung outside in the backyard and the kids chowed down on some pizza for the first time! They all shared a slice of supreme and cheese pizza (of course they were cut up into tiny pieces). They ate the green peppers and mushrooms too! Matthew was helping me with the dinner feeding so Dan could go eat dinner himself. Hudson's the one in the hooded robe.

guide to meeting a multiple family as written by Christa

I stumbled across another mulitple mom's blog and totally agree with a posting she had. I'd like to share that with everyone since I couldn't have said it better myself.

new ride---new toys---updates (milk, food, steps)

We finally have been able to go on our family walks...if it's not too hot! HA!!! We took the Runabout for a spin this past couple of days and the kids really enjoy it. I think they like this better than the Triple Decker since they have more leg room. We also rotate them too so a different kid gets the front view.
Skyler, Tobin and Hudson with Dan, Molly, Redford and some of the neighborhood kids.

Upclose shot.

The kids love their new toy that my mom gave them. The ball pit is a hit! I think that's Skyler and Hudson. They love all of their bday toys, they prolly don't know what to make of all of them.

This is hilarious, Dan captured these shots b/c Skyler was pushing Hudson around.

After the pedi's visit last week, we started giving them whole milk. They're now not drinking their noon bottle, we gave them whole milk instead and they just kinda forgot about their bottle. The morning and night bottles are a little harder to wean off of, but I'll wait to see when they're ready. Since they're not doing a noon bottle, I've moved their lunch to 1:15/1:30 so it's evenly spread out between the meals.
I've also made a shrimp/veggie concoction and Tobin and Skyler loved it! Hudson not so much. I wonder if it's the fishy smell, but last week I introduced them to tuna and everyone liked it. Who knows!!! Grapes- I officially don't have to peel their grapes anymore, they don't mind eating the skins so all I have to do is quarter them or sixed them (I don't know if that's a word).
We also are introducing them to the toothbrush, they brush their teeth in the morning after breakfast and then again at bedtime.
Steps---Everyone has been taking baby steps about 2-3 steps, but Tobin has taken the most. Let's this weekend he did 5, then Monday 6, and this morning 7. He gets so excited too when he does it!
WOW, a lot of changes for turning One!!!
