I'm a little late in getting their First Bday party posted, but I spent most of last week recouping (from going non stop in preparation for their party) and also opening up their presents. Boy the packaging are so hard! I don't know why there are so many twisty thingys and tape on the toys.
Theme: Old MacDonald
Place: Cote Ranch (our home)
Time: 1- 3:30
A lot of family and friends came to the party, it was nice they took the time out to celebrate our kids first bday party. There were a total of 52 guests, 10 of them were kids. I had the blog put into a binder so people could see how much they grew during the year since we did not get many friend visitors throughout this first year. I think people were afraid they would be bothersome to us or that we needed our family time. In anycase, I'm glad they were able to make it to the party.
Many thanks to these wonderful people for helping us out with the party:
-my mom & brother, Matthew for coming over at 8 to watch the kids so Dan and I could do the finishing touches.
-my mom for washing, chopping, and putting out all the fruits/veggies and the rest of the food.
-Debbie for not only getting the pinata and goodies for it, but also bringing the bags so the kids would have a place for their goods.
-Dan's parents for bringing ice and storing one of the sandwich platter and drinks in their fridge.
-Dan's parents, Carol, and Charlotte/Mike for picking up the balloons and hanging them up throughout the house.
-Liz and Bryan for letting us borrow the kid chairs.
-Russell Ross for photographing the event.
-Julie for also photograping the event and letting us borrow her folding chairs.
-Ted for videographing the event.
-my mom & Carol for making sure the food/drinks were replinshed during the party.
-my mom, Carol and Charlotte for cleaning the floors after the kids made a mess with their bday cakes.
-my mom & Patrick for washing the dishes and putting things away at the end of the night.
-Patrick for sweeping and mopping my floors the next day.
After their party, I was worried the kids would not nap b/c it was their first time eating cake and I didn't know how the sugar would affect. They slept like a log prolly from all the excitement!

I'm feeding Hudson his cake. He didn't reallly care for it, unlike his siblings.

Tobin chowing down on his.

We sung "Happy Birthday" to all the kids for the big cake and then individually for each kid for their own cake. Hudson was fine until this point, he got a little frightened by all the noise and people. My poor baby!

Skyler w/her cake.

Each of the kids cakes.

The cakes were from Moeller's Bakery. They wanted to charge me $40 for drawing the barn on there. I don't think so. I did it that morning- took me less than 5 minutes.

The foodies!

The loot! Not shown is the 2 big boxes from Dan's parents/aunts/uncles who all chipped in for a big Step 2 playset that has is slide, swings, climbing toy.

More of the loot. That's why it took me all last week to open the presents and I'm still not done. Thank you everyone for your generosity.
