STOP call the police, my nanny came to work....:-)

OK this is what happens when you're at home with triplet babies and you don't use your mind the way you'd normally would. What's normal these days? Anyhow, after putting the kids down for their first nap this morning, I came out to the front room and Redford and Molly were barking up a storm. I looked out the window and saw part of a black car parked in our driveway so I went outside. I didn't see anyone and the car was locked. I asked the neighbor kid across the street if he saw anyone get out of the car and he said "no". Then I saw his mom and asked her the same. She said "no, and that I should probably call the cops since it could be a stolen car or no with drugs in it". Me- not thinking AT ALL, followed her advice so I called the police non emergency number. They were gonna dispatch a cop to the house. Alejandra, our nanny, who was vaccuming at this time, I guess thought it was wierd I was talking to the neighbor and looking at HER car. YES it was her car...which I didn't think to ask her. She rides the bus every day since she's worked for us and it didn't dawned on me to ask her. She came outside holding the car keys because I guess she thought something was wrong with her car. Anyways, had to call the cops back to cancel the request....Man, what raising triplet babies does to your mind! It makes you not think anymore, or remember or do anything sane!
On a better note, Skyler finally "talked" into the microphone toy we have. Hudson is seriously teething, his two uppers are coming in. And Tobin's just getting bigger.

More family visits (07.25)

Matthew, my mom, and Rebecca came by Saturday to hang out with the kids so I could go to Michael's, Dan try to finish up with the bathroom and run a real estate errand. My mom and Matthew stayed for 7 hours and got to see them for their two awake times. Rebecca stayed for about 3 hours. I went to Michael's to try to get some picture frames for those huge pics, but they were too expensive, so we're waiting for when we get those coupons in the mail. Pics to come from Matthew.

Mommy & Daddy's outing to Cirque du Soleil---kids update

Thanks to Julie for these pics...there were so many to choose from.
All three of them hanging out. Tobin, Skyler, and Hudson.

Skyler, she was sitting on this push toy last night and cruising on it around the living room.

Skyler- gotta love that smile!!! Looks like she's standing on her own. I guess this is before we left since Dan's in the picture. I was out running an errand. I went to my old old work and had my former co-worker print out pics of the kids really big size 24"x 36" so I can get those framed for the big empty wall we have at the front of the house.

Hudson clapping!

Val holding Hudson.

Julie and her friend, Val who's visiting from Florida are coming by today to help Alejandra so Dan and I could go to Cirque du Soleil show "Saltimbanco". We did make it home for the dinner feeding, but they had started early.
Some little updates on the kids: let's see, Hudson was the first one to clap his hands and now everyone can do it on cue too. Hudson has also been able to pick up his own food. He still needs some more work, but we are surely getting there! They all are beginning to "play" with one another. Yesterday, Hudson was chasing Skyler in the play area, by chase I made crawl after her. It was the funniest thing to watch! They were giggling up a storm! Skyler crawled into Dan's arms to get away from him. Then later she plopped her body right onto him and they all started laughing! After dinner Tobin and Hudson were again chasing crawling around the arches we have in the living room. That was also hilarious to watch! Skyler's latest thing is to swreick with her loud pitch noise. It sounds like a mermaid! They are all walking with the push toys and sometimes they can stand on their own for a few seconds before plopping down. I have to admit, it is getting a little easier (on some days)...I love them so much!!!

Grandmas helping---kids new toys

My mom's still coming over to bring my Vietnamese food. I don't know what I would do about my constant craving if it were not for her. It seems now that I'm older I crave it more often, don't know what it is! She comes back atleast once a week to play with the kids. This time she brought a dish which is basically steamed rice flour with minced pork and mushrooms. You eat that with fish sauce, a taste you have to acquire. Luckily Dan loves it. I gave the kids that for lunch a few times and they also loved it as well. I told my mom and she's gonna bring them different dishes to try next time.
Grandam Gail, Dan's mom came by a couple of hours this weekend and watched the kids so we could put the finishing touches to our bathroom/closet renovation. I was able to put sticky vinyl tile in the closet and move our clothes back in. Dan got to seal the tub surround, hang bathroom accessories and hang these shoe organizers I bought from Ikea. Yea it's mainly for my shoes! Hopefully he can seal the floors this weekend and I can test the jacuzzi tub! :-)
Grandma Gail and Grandpa Bob brought the kids these new push/ride on toys.
Hudson's with one of them and the walker (we already have this). Skyler and Tobin's in the back pushing the other ones.

swimming at Marie's (07.17.09)

I took the kids over Marie's house to swim on Fri. and Alejandra came as well. It was nice to have the extra hand since Marie's busy with her kids too. I didn't get any pics of them in the water but these are pics before we got in the water. Tobin was hungry when we got in the pool so I fed him his bottle in his float. He sucked it all down. Then Hudson and Skyler saw him and wanted their bottles too. They both sucked theirs down too. They all drank a total of 9 oz each for lunch in addition to their food. They usually only drink 4-6 oz at lunch time, but I guess the heat made them extra thirsty! That was the life, floating in the pool while someone serves you a cold one! Man wouldn't that be nice?

Hudson, Tobin and Skyler in their swimsuits.

trimmed bangs (07.16.09)

I finally did it...I trimmed their bangs. It was getting too long and poking them in their eyes. After dinner on Thurs, I trimmed everyone's bangs. It's not straight at all, but it looks straight if you part it to one side. Oh well, that's as good as it gets!

Tanika and Crystal's visit (07.15.09)

Tanika brought Crystal over for a playdate on Wed. It's been a long time since she last saw them; I think she came to visit them when they were a couple of months old. Here she is with Tobin and Hudson (Hudson's in brown).

Skyler really enjoyed having another girl to play with. Crystal and her got along just fine. Crystal is also our god daugther and she's turing 4 on the 21st. Sorry my camera really sux.

biggest playgroup ever I think

We went to the biggest playgroup ever, I think...Astrid, another SCT mom hosted this one today. There were a total of 8 moms, 24 kids from age 7 months-2 years. It was really fun, I think the kids had a great time. Tobin didn't know what to make of it at first, he hung onto to me for a good while before feeling at ease. Hudson just took off and enjoyed himself. Skyler and Tobin on and off were clinging onto me, but everyone enjoyed themselves. They liked all the different toys and being around so many kids.

mommy's day out (07.11.09)

Julie came over on Saturday to help Dan so I could go out with my girls and have lunch and a pedi. I have not seen Michele and Jill since Christmas and we have not been doing our GNO (Girls Night Out) lately since we're all busy with family life! We had lunch at D'amico's in the Village and our pedi at Isle Pedi. Pics to come from Jill.

general update on the kiddos

This is what we've been doing after their dinner is to let them roam in the living room. Hudson pushing two high chairs. Go baby go!!! You can kinda see Tobin and Skyler pushing the walker.

Finger foods!!! Skyler with a mouthful of food! She likes to stuff her mouth, maybe she's afraid if she doesn't eat it all at once, her bros would eat them. We're using the Baby Bjorn bibs now as it helps a lot with not getting the food on the floor. Redford and Molly aren't too happy about that! :-)

Let's see where to begin...everyone is doing really well. I can't believe their first birthday is coming up. I'm planning it and hopefuly it'll turn out as I want it to be for them, not that they would know anything, but I want for there to be really good memories for them when they're older. The theme is "Old MacDonald". That's another one of their favorite nursery rhyme besides "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". I'd thought about doing Twinkle, but that's their naptime song and it's a party so I didn't want to confuse them. I just can't believe I'm a mommy to triplets and that (thank goodness) everyone is in good health. That's all I can ask for!
Action wise...Everyone is crawling fast, sitting and standing up on their own, pulling themselves up and climbing on anything they can get their feet on. Tobin and Skyler are climbers, they've been climbing on all the toys and hanging over the play area gate. Skyler likes to roll back and forth on the couch too. They all like to be around the jumperoos and activity center and play with them standing on the outside instead of being in them. Hudson is not so much a climber, he's into pushing things. We ordered Thai food last week and it came in a box and the kids loves playing with it. Hudson's been pushing it around, everyone banging their hands on it. Today I put Skyler in the box and Hudson pushed her for a little bit. What a strong baby I have!

Talking....Hudson is the most talkative, he's said " baba, mama, dada". Tobin is also saying those same words and lately Skyler's been saying "naaahh naaah". They look like they're talking to each other when they're playing too!

Food/feeding...we've been practicing finger foods as the pedi asked us to at their 9 months checkup. So far Tobin and Skyler can feed themselves, although they have totally different technique. Skyler uses her pointer finger and delicately picks up the food where as Tobin grabs a big chunk and shoves it in his mouth by his palm. Skyler will hord all the food in her mouth and sometimes you have to pick it out because her mouth is so full she can't even chew. Tobin has been spitting out veggie finger food, but he'll still eat it pureed. It's so funny to watch them. Feeding time can be quite entertaining! Also funny is they like to "talk" to each other when they're eating too. They will sit there and all of sudden start laughing, sometimes it's all three like they're in their own world! We're still working with Hudson with finger food. He can pick it up just putting it in his mouth is the hard part. He's prolly thinking why should he do anything when Mommy's there helping him. It's alright, he'll master it one day. I start off their meal with some kind of finger food, then something that needs a spoon and then fresh fruits for them to pick up. They've have eaten the following:

breakfast: eggs, pancakes, tofu w/crushed up Cheerios, cereal, yogurt, Cheerios, fruits

veggies: green beans, sweet peas, eggplant, mushrooms, brocalli, cauliflower, corn, sweet potato, carrots, squash, spinach, celery, snap peas, edame

fruits: raspberries, apples, blueberries, strawberries, grapes, peaches, nectarines, bananas, prunes, pears, mangos, blackberries, pineapple

meats/protein: beef, chicken, turkey, pork, salmon, cheese, pasta, Vietnamese ham (pork roll)

I think there's more, but that's all I can remember now. If you know me, I hate to cook, but I find myself cooking for Dan and I when I have time so I can give the kids some of our food. I made spaghetti with turkey sausages the other night and gave that to the kids and they loved it!

We really do have such wonderful kids, I can't believe they've been sleeping through all the noises from the renovation especially since our bathroom backs up to their room. Napping has been really well, maybe we should have more chaos around the house and do more projects! :-)

The kids and I have had a busy week...first it was the playdate, visit to Daddy's work and then the Children's Museum. I know this blog is out of order, but oh well. I can only blog when I remember and lately it's not much!

I finally took them to Dan's work on Thursday. Everyone did really well in the car ride and there. His co-workers have been dying to see them...so I figured since it's summer and hopefully no one is sick, now will be better otherwise we would be in lock down again once RSV season starts and they won't meet them til next Summer.

We pretty much paraded them to everyone's office with Angela's help, one of his co-worker. We even let them crawl around on the floor a bit and they were having a blast! Thanks ASC for these wonderful pics!
