Beef's
On average, ever two weeks or so we'll load up with our friends (who are also our neighbors) and head to Beef O'Brady's for some health food which includes hot wings, burgers, french fries....and my favorite, their cuban sandwich. Pretty much everthing is fried and therefore is pretty tasty. Their kids love to go because they get to play games; for some reason Jason is good at the "prize time" game where you fish for stuffed animals. Both of their kids and the extra friend all left with rewards from Jason's fishing efforts. We love Beef's!

Christmas Boxes
Today I went to volunteer to stuff boxes for Christmas dinners going to 650 families in our county. I was there from 8:30 until 3:30 and we still haven't put in the turkeys, bread, & eggs. That will be done tomorrow when we actually pass out the boxes to the families. We also had boxes of books for the kiddos to go through and pick out as many as they want that were donated at various places in the community. It will all begin bright and early at 7:00 until they are all passed out. I sometimes take for granted that I can go to the store and buy these types of things at any time...and that I will celebrate my holiday with more food than five families could consume between Jason's family's Christmas and my family's. I really take away so much from these types of projects when you get to see the people that you are helping and know that you participated in making Christmas a little more special for deserving family's of our area.

Arriba! Arriba! Ándale! Ándale
Jason's office staff gave him his Christmas present today. It was so creative and reminicint of our trip to Cozumel, Mexico when Jason decided it would be a FANTASTIC idea to rent a scooter for the day! I actually rode on the back of the scooter with him for a few blocks and saw my life flash before my eyes several times...He said they only loaned the picture to him to show me, but would like it returned to have a permanent home at his office.

Two days - too fun!
We went to Dallas over the weekend to do a little Christmas shopping and to celebrate John's birthday (Jason's dad). We went to eat at some of my favorite places...The MiCocina http://www.mcrowd.com/micocina.shtm in west village (very cool location) and Bread Winners http://www.breadwinnerscafe.com/ ...YUMMY!!! I'm pretty sure I've gained five pounds in the last two days becuase of all the food I consumed. Alyson and Khloe joined John and Glenda (who's not pictured - she didn't feel well so I didn't bother her with posing for pictures) on the trip. We went to the new American Girl store and Khloe seemed to have a really great time. She managed to leave with a new little friend. I discovered a new store I had never been to called Zara (http://zara.com/ )...I almost didn't walk in the place because it looked so high-end, but I'm glad I did because it was very affordable! Jason's parents also gave us a couple of ornaments to take home of the "oil-rig Rudolf" that is at the center of Jason's hometown every year. http://www.lufkin.com/rudolph.html We took a trip to Dalls, accomplished most of our shopping, and celebrated a birthday in two short days...it was tiring, but fun!

Deck the Doors
Thursday finally arrived and the event turned out great! We had so much stuff that was auctioned both silent and live...the dog that stayed the night with us and made his television debut with me even sold. I can't really imagine going to an event like that and leaving with a dog, but there was something there for everyone. I took home a reindeer set among other things that I won the bid on. Also, my wreath won first place and I took a photo with it's new owners... I'm sure they'll update the JA website regarding the event; here's the link if you're interested: http://jaconway.org/view/31

Ho Ho Ho & Hullabaloo

nu=3232>874>293>23238743848<2ot1lsi.jpg">
Jason and I were double booked with two Christmas parties to attend. We first went to his office party and then left to attend Ho Ho Ho & Hullabaloo. It was a great way to kick off the holiday season!
Mem-Fast
Jason and I left early yesterday morning on a last minute decision to take a quick trip to see Jim Brickman. We got there around three which gave us a little time to prowel around before the concert at the Orpheum theater. We really enjoyed the concert and I'm fairly certain we were the youngest couple there! I loved the entertainers he had as part of the show and I am now a fan of the violinist, David Klinkenberg, who was incredible! The violin coupled with the piano is a sound that is so beautiful! We stayed at the Westin along with the basketball team, The Timberwolves. Those guys are REALLY tall!!!

I'll copy that!
I went to our neighborhood bunko ornament exchange party on Tuesday. My friend, Laura, was the host this year and she did an outstanding job. Everything had a holiday touch from the veggie tray, cookies, homemade chocolates in the shapes of Santas and Christmas tree, and sugared candy canes for the hot cider. It was all so cute, I made sure to take a few pictures to put on my blog....

Geaux Hogs!!!
We watched the Hog’s game next door at Shawn and Stacy’s (not pictured) along with her family from Tulsa: Greg, Michelle, and Ashley. They had to head home mid-game and missed the triple overtime win over LSU. Our friends, huge LSU fans, which live at the entrance of our neighborhood (incidentally is one of the most juvenile places to live in this town) will have a little surprise waiting in their yard and front porch when they return from their trip to see the game in Baton Rouge. Just for the record, Jason and I had NOTHING to do with this prank, but I couldn’t help documenting it for blog purposes!
