The Dells

Earlier this month was our 2nd annual trip to Wisconsin Dells. And I have a renewed love for water slides, since I discovered the Hurricane!
It was terrifying and awesome.
Anyway - it was so great to spend time with these friends and their kids.
The kiddos seemed to get along pretty well.
The first ever Wisconsin Dells Talent Show was the big event of the weekend. Henry took home the prize for his skit,
which involved all the kids, a shark, and a squid.
But there were also some honorable mentions,
like a few magic tricks...
Kate's balancing act...
and two amazing vocal performances.
The guys, of course, had their time to bond in the pool.
And the ladies were showered with wonderful gifts again.
(Actually...that's a lie. These socks are NOT wonderful or comfortable... they are just kind of weird.)
We ate lots of good food - like Matt's homemade bacon jam.
(actually that's a lie too - bacon jam is NOT good.)

But it was good to be with friends and spend some time in 80 degree temps!

NINETY years

Jerod's Grandpa celebrated his 90th birthday this week.
NINETY.
If you knew him, you wouldn't believe he is that old. He is about as sharp and healthy as a person can be at NINETY.
And last night, we had a little party for him - complete with a huge cake and NINETY candles. Just kidding. That would have been a fire hazard.
But here is Great-Grandpa Ken with his family, minus several people. This is what happens when two people get married, have a few kids, then those few have a few, and so on and so on...

How They Play

It usually begins with something like this...
with just a little tickle.
And then it turns in to something more like this...
And it is so sweet.

A Serious Love

This little man has a serious love of vehicles. Over the last 3 years it has not died down. He is passionate about cars, trucks, trailers...anything with wheels. So when he received $10 for Valentine's Day he was very excited to spend it at Target on a vehicle which he did not yet own: a garbage truck.
And he loves this new garbage truck. So much so, that despite its large size, it gets tucked in every night right next to Sam.
That's one lucky truck.
