Joseristine is a Hong Kong-based skincare brand established since 1995 by Choi Fung Hong. Recently, Joseristine has expanded to Malaysia and is available via online purchase at the moment.

Their star product, Joseristine Anti-Pollution Whitening Mask is rich n chitosan, a type of sugar extracted from the outer skeleton of shellfish including crab, lobster and shrimp.

Besides the hydrating function, chitosan also helps in the absorption of heavy metal, UV protection, antibacterial and is biodegradable.

The products consists of 2 parts - the mask sheet in the cup and a bottle of the essence. Prior to applying, we are supposed to drip the essence into the cup (with the mask inside) and shake it well.

I tried out the CC Long Lasting Cushion. Most of the time I am out for the entire day, so it is highly important that my foundation stays in place.

First, open up the cushion and remove the sticker packaging that protects the cushion. I absolutely loves how THE FACE SHOP has put in an effort in upgrading the interior into golden and metallic. It is quite a change from the previous version that was purely silver and plastic. The new look has added bonus points to the overall product appearance.

Next, press the puff onto the cushion to get an adequate amount of foundation. I like the bouncy feels coming from the puff which is different from an ordinary make up sponge.

Tap the puff gently onto the face to apply the foundation evenly. Make sure to cover your blemishes area.

Kerastase 3-Step Haircare Ritual

I am no stranger when it comes to Kerastase products. Growing up with a hairdresser relative, I have been introduced to Kerastase since I was a teen. There was a point of time when my hair got severely damaged after dyeing and perming (everyone must had been through that rebellious teenage stage!). These days, I can safely proclaim that most days are good hair days ^^

For weakened and damaged hair (such as spit ends, loss of elasticity, brittle hair with different lengths), I would strongly recommend Kerastase’s Resistance series (packaging in light green).

Introducing the 3-step hair care treatment:

Step 1: Bathe

Repairing Reconstructing Shampoo – RM90

Apply the repairing reconstructing shampoo to damp hair, emulsify, massage and rinse.

The pro-keratin and ceramid help to rebuild and strengthen the hair fiber from the inside.

Step 2: Treat

2 options under this step. Personally, I would use the masque only on once or twice basis.

Repairing Anti-breakage Cream – RM100

Repairing Reconstructing Masque – RM145

Apply to washed and towel-dried hair. Massage onto lengths and ends. Leave in for 1-2 minutes (cream)/ 5 minutes (masque). Emulsify and rinse thoroughly.

Step 3: Texturize

Resurfacing Reinforcing Milk – RM94

This is a leave-in product that requires no rinsing. Apply to washed and towel-dried hair. Massage onto lengths and ends before you proceed to blowdry.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel™

Beauty comes at a price. And that price surely wouldn’t make you happy.

With the rising cost of living, the cost of mani-pedi is also rising in tandem. It costs about RM200 in Klang Valley area to get a simple gel manicure these days. What used to be a bi-weekly routine is now a luxury splurge.

This CNY, I decided to paint my own nails! T o T

The results used to be disastrous whenever I did hat in the past. But this time, it turned out well with Sally Hansen Miracle Gel™.

The new Sally Hansen “Royal Splendor” Miracle Gel™ Collection features 3 new shades to the Miracle Gel™ - Regal Rosé Wine and dine, Off with her Red!, and Prince Char-mint.

Super amazed by the chandelier in the set that can be switched on and off with the mini button! Thumbs up to Sally Hansen for coming up with such a brilliant idea!

In conjunction with CNY, I opted for “Off with her Red!”. As the name suggests, the nail polish dries off pretty quick miraculously. The colour and shine effects are equivalent to the conventional gel polish, hence the name Miracle Gel™ although no UV light is required throughout the process.

The colour could last up to 14 days (depending on how much house chores you do LOL).

I am now using “Regal Rosé Wine and dine” which is beige with tinge of pink. Very clean and neat colour suitable for normal day use.

The black bottles are actually the 2X Volume Top Coat which provides a high-gloss finish and mirror shine. Makes the colour longer lasting too.

Additional surprise in the box. I had trouble opening this bottle of “matte polish” until I realized that it was in fact a USB! LOL. Second cutest thing ever apart from that mini chandelier.

[ADV] E Nailspa - Acrylic Gel Manicure & Magnetic Gel Pedicure

For those who follow me on Instagram would have noticed that I’ve got my nails done recently! This time, I went for acrylic gel with ocean-themed design in preparation for my upcoming trip to Redang. It will be my first visit to the island in East Coast (damn jakun lololol) and I heard that our islands are way more beautiful than the usual touristy islands we visit in Thailand. Super excited already!

Gotta show you the final outcome before anything else. Absolutely love the dual tone gel colour and the intricate waves design that my manicurist put in so much effort to draw on my nails meticulously. And those adorable seashells, starfish and tiny pearls! *heart-eyed*

My manicure and pedicure pampering session was done at E Nailspa located at Desa Sri Hartamas. It didn’t take me long to find the nail salon as it is located at one of the shop buildings right behind Souled Out. Parking was not an issue as there is a basement parking at the building itself. Alternatively you may park at the outdoor parking space outside Souled Out. As for me, I was lucky to have spotted a car vacating a perfect spot right outside the building! Teehee.

Situated on the first floor of the shop building, E Nailspa is safe from the hustle bustle of the restaurant and bar businesses within the vicinity. The salon is cosy, properly furnished with English-themed wallpaper and furniture which make you feel instantly at ease.

It is also fully equipped with quality products and hygienic tools expected from a professional nail salon. I was impressed as unlike some nail salon, E Nailspa is well-ventilated and is free from nail polish stench.

Plenty of sample nail arts for you to get your inspiration. Meanwhile, owner  Emanda Chong gave me some suggestions for my nail art and colours. I was tempted to go for the black and white flower design but nah, I had to stick to my ocean-themed nail art! Next time perhaps.

There were altogether 5 armchairs at the nail salon! Must have been quite an investment as it was super comfy and makes one feel like a Queen. LOL. I have never felt so comfortable resting on an armchair at a nail salon. No wonder they call it a pamper session. Just the chair itself is a good form of pampering.

My manicurist who graduated from the O.P.I. Academy. Thanks for attending to my special requests. And thumbs up to her exemplary skills for making my nails so perfect! Everything was carefully done without any missing edge.

Don’t worry about the stick-on items falling out one by one as it was done by acrylic gel. Or to explain in layman term, first the manicurist would stick them one by one with glue, then apply a few coating of transparent acrylic gel onto your nails and dry them with UV light. The acrylic gel would be thick and strong enough to hold the stickers to make sure they don’t fall. Should be able to last for a month if you take good care of it.

Next up was 3-step Spa Pedicure. After some good scrubbing, my feet immediately felt so much cleaner and smoother. Foot mask was applied thoroughly and generously, after which my feet were wrapped for the next 15 minutes before the mask was rinsed off.

I had some dilemma when it came to choosing the design for my toe nails. Initially I wanted white base with stars and pearls stickers, the same as my fingernails. But Emanda did not think that it was a good idea as the stickers would not last on my toe nails since I wear covered shoes to work daily. Instead, she recommended me the latest magnetic coating which will be the upcoming trend. I have seen this effect on their Instagram which is rather new and interesting, so why not! The magnetic coating comes in either silver or gold. It works best with darker base so I opted for dark blue with golden magnetic coat.

I was intrigued by how it works. After applying the normal gel colour, my pedicurist applied a layer of that special coating onto the entire toe nails. After that, she would use a magnetic tool to make the coating gather at the centre of the nails. Couldn’t take my eyes off the whole time, never had such canggih pedicure session before! LOL.

The end result was stunning. The special magnetic coating gives you a marbling illusion from various angles.
