Dining - Running - Surfing - Cruising

It all began on Friday night when I picked up my friend Jacie to go to Disneyland to get our information packets for the 5k the following morning. We had fun wandering around the fitness expo and getting a lot of free stuff. Paul and Brandon met up with us for dinner in downtown Disney, along with our friends John and Becky. We had a great time at dinner, but toward the end of the meal E had had enough and we had to leave a little early. While walking through downtown disney I had to go in the awesome lego store. These are the legs of a huge giraffe...

Dining - Enjoying delicious bbq pizza...

Running - We left at about 5:45am for the 5k. There were 4,000 people running. 1,000 of which were children.

Here we are before the run...

Please note Becky's spirit fingers in this picture. We were really excited to finally start!

Just about to reach the starting line...
Our awesome fans cheering us on...

Even Mickey and Minnie put on their jogging suits for the race...

They had a bunch of the parade floats out around the park...

We got to run "behind the scenes" in a few different parts of the park...

There they are again, as we made our way into California adventures...

Racing to the finish line...

The champions with their medals...

This is definitely the best way to run a 5k!

Surfing - Our stake held a surfing contest for all ages. It was a lot of fun to watch the surfers, take pictures and hang out with some of our friends at the beach!

Cruising - In the evening Paul came through with his surprise for our 3 year anniversary. He arranged to have our friends babysitt E and took me on a dinner cruise. It was so nice to be just the two of us for a few hours.

(Don't worry, it's just sparkeling cider:)

After dinner they had a DJ playing music and people started going out onto the dance floor. Paul and I got to talking and realized neither of us could remember the actual title of "our song." That was kind of depressing. I finally remembered it and then I left to go to the bathroom. When I returned Paul asked me to dance and the next song that the DJ played was "Keeper of the stars," our song. (We danced to it at our wedding.) I'm kind of a sap and started crying on the dance floor as I thought about the past 3 yrs and all that we have been through together and how we have grown. I am so grateful for Paul. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have him as my eternal companion!

"Keeper of the Stars" lyrics:

It was no accident, me finding you. Someone had a hand in it, Long before we ever knew. Now I just can't believe you're in my life. Heaven's smilin' down on me, As I look at you tonight.

I tip my hat to the keeper of the stars. He sure knew what he was doin' When he joined these two hearts. I hold everything When I hold you in my arms. I've got all I'll ever need Thanks to the keeper of the stars.

Soft moonlight on your face oh how you shine. It takes my breath away Just to look into your eyes. I know I don't deserve a treasure like you. There really are no words To show my gratitude.

So I tip my hat to the keeper of the stars. He sure knew what he was doin' When he joined these two hearts. I hold everything When I hold you in my arms. I've got all I'll ever need, Thanks to the keeper of the stars.

It was no accident me finding you. Someone had a hand in it Long before we ever knew.

A Saturday Full of Firsts...

#1. I forgot to call my brother on his birthday for the first time.:( Sorry Dave!

I hope you enjoy this video

#2. Paul and I went door to door in support of proposition 8. It wasn't the most pleasant experience, but it felt great to stand up for something that I firmly believe in!

#3. We met Charlie Ames who is only 12 days old now, and for the first time we were the ones trying to keep our child from hitting, touching or rolling over a baby.

#4. We attended a Bat Mitzfa ceremony and reception. Has anyone ever been to one of these? It had to be one of the most awesome celebrations I have ever been a part of! When we arrived they had these cute party favors with our names on them that told us wich table to sit at . . .

The whole reception had a candy theme. There was even a "Candy Bar." I wish I would have thought of this for our wedding reception! I was in heaven right along with all of the little kids.:)

The DJ and MC were excellent. It was so fun to watch everyone dancing and having a great time! It's a lot harder to get out and boogy on the dance floor when you have a baby . . .

But you know Paul wouldn't let that stop him! E didn't quite know what to think of all of the lights and loud music . . .

Unfortunately we had to leave early and didn't get to taste the goodness of this delicious looking cake. . .

I think it is safe to say that if we ever get invited to a Bat Mitzfa again...We are SO there!

A much needed vacation after our vacation . . .

We got back from UT on Sunday and I still don't feel like I have things completely back in order, but I decided to enjoy my Friday. I relaxed and read out by the pool and then Paul had the great idea to go to the beach and watch the sunset. Of course we ended the evening with Frozen Yogurt. This weekend we went to "Frosted Cup." It was good, but Yogurtland is still my favorite.

I am becoming more and more impressed with Paul's photography skills. . .

I thought it was so cute when E fell asleep hanging onto his toy this week . . .

HE ROLLS OVER! Anytime we put E on the ground now he rolls onto his tummy. The funny thing is that he cannot roll back over, so he is constantly crying out for our help. . .

I took this picture while at my parent's house a few weeks ago. . .

(I thought it turned out kind of cool)
