We should not underestimate or overlook the power of the Lord’s tender mercies. The simpleness, the sweetness, and the constancy of the tender mercies of the Lord will do much to fortify and protect us in the troubled times in which we do now and will yet live. When words cannot provide the solace we need or express the joy we feel, when it is simply futile to attempt to explain that which is unexplainable, when logic and reason cannot yield adequate understanding about the injustices and inequities of life, when mortal experience and evaluation are insufficient to produce a desired outcome, and when it seems that perhaps we are so totally alone, truly we are blessed by the tender mercies of the Lord and made mighty even unto the power of deliverance (see 1 Ne. 1:20).

6th Grade Graduation

The end of May ShiAnne graduated from 6th grade. This is just crazy to me. Time goes by so fast.
The school did a little ceremony for the 6th graders and honored the student council. Sabrina and I got to go watch.

Can you find ShiAnne?

She really enjoyed serving on the student council.

Cute sisters!

Happy Birthday ShiAnne...

I can't believe you're 12!

She has a fun group of friends.

They ate dinner with their hands tied together, it was noisy,
and did a picture scavenger hunt around the neighborhood.

Happy Birthday to my silly, enthusiastic, smart and beautiful first daughter!

Little Preformers

The night before, the night I went into labor with Sabrina, ShiAnne was a narrator in the play a Mid-Summer Nights Dream. She had worked very hard on this playing. They had spent a couple months practicing twice a week after school. The play ended up being the night before my due date and there was some concern of weather or not I would make it but Sabrina waited and we sure enjoyed watching ShiAnne preform. She did a great job and had lots of fun.

Then a few days after Sabrina was born Gideon had his first grade program. We were able to make it to that too. He preformed the German Clapping Dance and did a great job.

Just getting into the music.

It seams with the fourth kid and having big kids that are involved in more stuff we didn't slow down much to have Little Miss Sabrina. We did our activities of one week. Had her on the weekend and jumped into our activities of the next week. Thankfully I have great recoveries and she is a good sleeper. She has just had to learn how to tag along.

This is one of the best things I have listened too in a long time. I had to share it.
I think I will listen to it everyday this year until I can truly live it.

Back to Books equals Back to the Blog??

Well we are going to try.

So today was the first day of school and here are the pictures.

ShiAnne's first day of 4th grade.

Lizzy's first day of 2nd grade.

When did they get so big? It makes me want to cry.

So this is our best first day of school story. To say that ShiAnne loves school and was soooo excited for the first day of school would be an understatement. She made a count down chain at the beginning of August and has been counting down ever sense. Lizzy just feeds off of her excitement. Last night the clothes were laid out and they were ready to go to bed. At 4 o'clock this morning I woke up to use to the bathroom and was pretty sure I could hear the girls talking down stairs. I decided to go and investigate. I was surprised when I saw that the light in their bedroom was on but them I was shocked when I opened the door and they were sitting in the middle of their room playing cards! WHAT IN THE WORLD! They told me they were to excited to sleep. Silly girls! I made them get back in bed and turn off the lights and guess what? They fell back to sleep. When I went up stairs I told Shiloh about this and we lay in our beds laughing. What kind of nerds are we raising? You would think it was Christmas or something.

Okay that was our funny story and this is our not funny story.

Yesterday afternoon Gideon was jumping off the couch like he does all the time. I didn't even think to tell him to stop this is a normal thing at our house but then he landed on his foot wrong and started crying. I could tell from his cry that it was a real hurt. He wouldn't walk on it at first but then last night he started hobbling around on it so I was hopping it would be alright in the morning. When morning came he wouldn't walk in it at all, so while the girls headed off to the first day of school we headed to the doctors office. The foot was swollen and the doctor was surprised when the ex-rays came back and there was no brake. He told us that usually in little kids the bone will give before the ligaments and tendons do but there was no brake to be seen so he wrapped it in an ace bandage, told us to how to take care of it and sent us home. Gideon wouldn't walk on it at all today. I am hopping he will do better tomorrow because that kid is heavy!

The girls had a great first day of school and I think we are going to have a great year!
