I've officially paid for my 2 sewing machines. After advice from my sis and a few days of headache, I decided not to buy the $3000 machine, but the regular kind and a serger. I've made peace with my decision and feel a lot better now that the money burden is lessened.


My first sale! Extremely funky and comfy scarf consisting of 11 different yarn styles. The yarn costs $45 / ball. Sold for $100.

More pattern magic

I made another pattern magic garment. Man! Have I told anyone how much I love this book? I'm still battling with myself over sewing machine issues - $1000-$1500 for a basic one, or $3000 for a semi-industrial extraordinary one? And then plus the overlocker/serger that I need because currently all my edges fray? And a dress form? I've none of the essentials - but so much money that I don't actually have! It's time to get serious. I'll make hats/scarves for money. Any takers?
Ism is on hold right now. I don't know when I'll ever get my thesis done!

Painting mishaps

Has it ever occurred to you why oil painting is called oil painting? I've been helping my brother to do little bits of painting over the weekend. Today I was asked to mixed colors - and I mixed oil paints with...water. DANG! Thinking is obviously not my forte. I thought everyone mixed paints with water. Definitely a bimbo. Better stick to sewing.
