HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy new year all!

Hope you have a good one - 2014 will see this blog grow, so keep posted!

2014 - Looking forward to a hobby filled year!

Every year I start new projects, to work on alongside those I haven't finished from the year before!
This years projects will be:
Complete the painting of my Ultramarines 1st & 2nd Companies
Build my Death Korps of Krieg to 1500 points
Build my Deadzone stuff
Build my Bauhaus force for Warzone: Resurrection.

It's the last one that really has my attention though.  Since the early 90's when Target a Games first released Warzone, the background and style really caught my attention. At that time I had two forces - Imperial (effectively British & Commonwealth) and Bauhaus (Germans). I built both forces off a solid core provided by the starter box, and loved them.

This past Christmas my wife gave me the new Prodos version of Warzone as a gift, along with a complete set of Bauhaus releases! They're great minis, and I can't wait to get stuck in!

Here's the one I've painted so far: Max Steiner, hero of Bauhaus!

Achtung! Cthulhu has landed!

Mophidius' Acthung Cthulhu has arrived!

I've not back many Kickstarters this year, but this one (Along with Cubicle 7's Cthulhu Britannica: London) was a MUST HAVE, given that Call of Cthulhu is quite possibly the greatest RPG ever written (disagree? Then tell me what your favourite is).

The books are beautiful - full colour throughout, and printed on good quality stock, all presented in two nicely bound hardcover books.

The artwork by Dim Martin is inspirational and sits alongside photos from the Second World War which adds an air of authenticity to the setting.

Lynn Hardy's writing is as top notch as can be expected, and draws the reader in, each section firing inspiration at the Keeper for use in their games.  The colour text adds further depth to the setting.

I'm looking forward to running my first A!C adventure in the new year!

Prologue....

I've drafted, deleted, redrafted and then deleted this first post so many times now it's getting silly.

Now do you introduce yourself to an audience you're not sure is there, in such a manner as to a) keep their attention and b) not appear weird?

Answers on a postcard please!

OK, how I'm going to do it is say HELLO! And welcome to what I hope will be an interesting read thought 2014.

I'll be rambling about my hobbies, which include wargaming, painting toy soldiers, reading, comic books, music and films.  There may also be a small amount of political ranting (but I'll try to keep that to a minimum)....

Sound good? Sound like the kind of thing you'd want to read about?

Then 2014 could just be our year to become good friends dear reader.....!

My first ever fan fiction!

My First foray into fan fiction - a Battletech short story!  I've been wanting to write short stories for a while, but never really go...
