Week By Week

Well obviously I have had very little time to sit down and write a post, so I thought I would do a quick update of the last 4 months. Life is definitely busy but I wouldn't change a single thing. We are now getting solid sleep every night..amen! The babies eat between 7-8, go down for the night and don't wake until after 6 only to eat again and then back to bed for another 3 hours!!!! :-) Our kids have some sleeping genes because even Connor doesn't wake-up until 8:30. So that means I usually have a solid 2-3 hours in the morning where I can workout, eat breakfast, shower, and get ready for my day (ie couponing, cleaning, etc) all undisturbed. :-) But before you get jealous, once all the kids are up, it's non-stop the rest of the day and almost nothing gets accomplished except for taking care of the kiddos. Babies just started taking 3 somewhat predictable 2 hour naps during the day..usually at the same time but occasionally they get off a little. Although in the afternoon, I'm able to time it so Connor has 'rest time' in his room while they babies are down and that usually gives me at least another hour to start prepping for Eric to come home and get dinner going.
For those of you who are curious here are some answers to common questions....yes, they are on the same schedule. If one wants to eat, I wake the other to eat. Yes, I'm still nursing and they are doing great :-) I'm very proud that I've made it longer with them than I did with Connor. The only downside is I realize that I hold onto my weight while nursing and lose it like crazy when I stop but it's worth it to not be paying for formula. As far as personalities go, Jack is definitely more of a snuggler and needs a little bit of extra holding and loving. He talks a lot more than Ali and has a huge ear to ear open mouth smile. We are even getting giggles out of him which of course melts my heart every time. He is very alert and always looking around just like Connor did as a baby. Ali is sooooo easy going and laid back. She has the softest but sweetest voice when she talks to you and a cute little grin. She definitely makes you work harder for the smiles but she never breaks eye contact with you. Whenever we talk to her, she will start moving her mouth trying to imitate but no sounds comes out..lol.
Connor is still doing great with them! He is done with school for the summer and the heat has been awful especially this past week, so it does get a little tricky trying to keep him entertained without dragging the babies out in the heat. Connor just finished a soccer camp and I'm going to look into signing him up for basketball. He is so athletic and wants to play every sport.
Work is going great for Eric as he just got a promotion recently that was well deserved and overdue. I still love being a stay at home mom and wouldn't trade these years for anything!! I did start selling Tupperware recently (which makes me feel a little old..haha) because after spending so much of our days now within this house..I really enjoy getting out a couple evenings a week to laugh and have a great time with other women/moms...and the extra money doesn't hurt either. ;-)
Here are some week by week pictures just to show you how much the babies have changed. We go next week for their 4 month checkup (a couple weeks late)..can't wait to see how much they weigh but dread the shots...it's very hard to comfort two babies at the same time by myself with Connor :-(
Hope you all are having a wonderful summer and I will try and add some albums as soon as I can sort through the thousands of pictures (literally, thousands..I'm not joking!)

God bless,
Becky

Our Double Blessing Has Arrived!

Ali on the left and Jack on the right

On February 11th we welcome Ali Kathryn Williamson at 10:36pm weighing in at 6lbs 50z and 18 1/2 inches long. Jack Turner Williamson followed one minute after weighing 6lbs 11oz and 21 inches. Jack had a brief visit to the NICU due to the cord being wrapped around his neck but Ali went straight to the regular nursery. I unfortunately hemorrhaged just like I did with Connor and ended up with two blood transfusions. We all went home together 5 days later.

The road that led us to this point was anything but smooth. Eric and I faced many challenges, disappointments, a range of every emotion you could think of. There were countless nights that I was not only emotionally drained but physically and mentally too. However, through it all God continued to lead and guide our every step. It is never easy to wait on God and His timing, but I can tell you if you are in that place right now, I just want to give you a little encouragement. God is faithful...God IS faithful. I can't tell you how often I had to say that over and over to myself during this journey He took us on. I needed that constant reminder and He would provide me with just enough evidence of His faithfulness to keep me going when I didn't think I could any longer. There were difficult decisions along the way and we didn't always have the support of those around us that we wanted, but Eric and I were confident in the direction God was taking us and had to lean on each other to know that we both felt He was telling us exactly what to do and when. Doors were opened that I never could have knocked down no matter how hard I might have wanted...it was Him. There is one verse that the Lord gave me as a small child that has stuck with me my entire life and especially through this circumstance.
Isaiah 40:31 'but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.'
Now, holding my sweet new babies the joy I feel can't even be put into words. God has carried us from the very beginning all the way to now and I know He will continue to do so.

Jack and Ali were 4 weeks on Friday. Jack weighed in at 7lbs 2 oz and Ali 6lbs 14oz. They have already started to go from 4 hours in between feedings at night to almost 6 hours! Praise God! I really can't complain because we are getting way more sleep this time around than we ever did with Connor. Connor is loving the role of big brother and is such a huge help. He is constantly giving them hugs and kisses and gets very upset when we let them cry too long. The other day I wanted to take him for just some mommy and me time. I thought he would be so excited but boy was I wrong. He was very upset that Jack and Ali weren't coming almost to the point of throwing a tantrum. I asked him later if he had fun and he said yes but that Jack and Ali needed to come next time..lol. He has transitioned so well and we couldn't ask for more.

My heart is overflowing and thanking God for these precious miracle babies! They truly are a gift from God and I already can't remember what life was like without them here.

God bless,
Becky

New Photo Albums!

Okay, I am trying to finish packing to leave tomorrow but I uploaded all of our photos from August through what I have currently taken this month. That should be enough to keep you all busy until I have time to post. Tomorrow is my 28 week appointment and we will have another ultrasound, so hopefully tomorrow night I will be able to post an update with news pics of our sweet babes!

Summer is Gone and Fall is Here!!

We're back!! I'm sure you all thought we were gone for good but I'm back and more determined than ever to keep up with this blog this time!!
This summer was a whirlwind for us and I'm still catching up from all of our travels. So here go the updates:

1. In May, we wrapped up Connor's 2nd year in preschool and the kids had an adorable little concert that they put on for the parents. Grandpa Jack was able to come down and you could tell Connor was so proud being up on that stage. I have some really cute videos that I need Eric to help me trim down and upload on here.

2. In June, Connor took soccer lessons at the YMCA. He has been asking to play soccer for over a year now and was so excited when the time finally arrived. We now have a soccer goal in our backyard and he is loves to go out and practice with mommy and daddy. At the end of June, we joined all of my family at Wild Dunes for a week long vacation. It was such a great time of games, food, and relaxation...in fact, it was so relaxing that I didn't take my camera out all week!!

3. In July, Connor finally got his birthday present from Grandpa Jack, Mimi, and Papa. They gave us money to buy him a playground but before we purchased one..Eric and I wanted to be able to put in a fence. Eric and I kept telling him he couldn't get his playground until the fence was done. Well we came back from being out of town one weekend and the fence was done...the first words out of Connor's mouth 'now we can get my playground!!'. He amazes us with his memory and how he can recall things from over a year ago and he also remembers EVERYTHING we say.

4. August was a very exciting month. We welcomed a new niece!! My brother, Bob, and his wife, Stefini, welcomed their first child, Margaret Joann (Maggie Ann) Frisina. My brother has been deployed in Afghanistan since March and was given 2 weeks of leave when she was born. They decided to have him come home a week after Stef's due date and within 12 hours of him being home she went into labor! We had all been praying they would be able to experience that moment together and God was so faithful in His timing to allow it all to be perfect! They decided to wait until the baby was born to find out the sex and when my brother came down the hall to tell us (at 12:30 in the morning!), he was so shocked and overjoyed to say 'it's a girl'!! Little Maggie Ann took us all my surprise..we were sure she was a boy. Unfortunately, Bob's two weeks went by way too quickly and now we are praying for March to come fast so he can be home with his wife and precious baby girl!

After spending a few days with my new niece and family, I headed off to Orlando with some of my favorite ladies from MOPS! We traveled down for a few days for the MOPS Convention which is always a wonderful getaway for us mommies.

Right after I got home, we left to spend a few days at Seabrook Island with Eric's family. Fortunately, I did snap a few pictures during that vacation. One of the highlights for Connor was all the time we spent on the boats. He loves being out on the water. The weather was great considering how unbearable the heat was this summer.

5. September was all about getting back into a routine again after our crazy summer of travels. Connor started back to preschool and this year is taking the big leap and going 4 days a week. He absolutely loves it but for me by Wednesday I'm missing him and ready for the week to end..haha. It is nice being able to clean, grocery shop, run errands, and have the occasional lunch with friends without the interruption of a 3 year old..lol.

AND LASTLY OUR BIG NEWS....
After 2 years of struggling to give Connor a sibling, Eric and I were so excited to find out in July that we were expecting and not just one baby but TWO! One of the main reasons why there wasn't any communication this summer was all of our travels seeking medical treatment. It was very exhausting and stressful at time but God was faithful as always and it was worth everything we had to go through. I have been horribly sick since 5 weeks and 6 days (yes I know the day it started..haha) and was able to start taking zofran at 8 weeks. Now at 18 weeks, I am still on zofran to get by and be able to keep food down but at least it's working!
Connor will be big brother to Jack Turner Williamson and Ali Kathryn Williamson. He is so excited and is getting lots of practice with his little cousin Maggie Ann and is wonderful with her, so I know he will be a great big brother! The twins will arrive no later than Feb 18. The doctors will not let me go longer than 37 weeks.
17 weeks!

Baby A..our little girl!
Baby B..our little boy!
Well that should catch us up! Check the links for pictures on the right..I will be uploading everything I have this afternoon. It's not much...I was really terrible about remembering to use my camera but have already been taking pictures this month, so I'm sure it won't be long until I have albums with over 200 pictures again!

Hit the Pause Button

This is going to be a crazy week in the Williamson household! I am working in Columbia until the 10th and do not have my computer, so the posts will be pretty empty this week as I don't have pictures and videos with me. Also, Eric has an interview in Charlotte today and then he will head back to Charleston to work. So just giving those of you who might be anticipating posts this week (because I know they are just so awesome..haha..j/k) a heads up that I will do my best, but don't expect too much until after the 1oth!

Ten on Tuesday!

Well here it goes..first Ten on Tuesday post!

1. I got to go shopping today..ALL BY MYSELF!! That rarely happens and is so nice because whenever I go with Connor I can't concentrate and end up leaving empty handed! I even got some great deals!

2. I LOVE Summerville's Farmer's Market. I took my mom and sister-in-law Saturday and got a really cute necklace and earring set for $7!! The food is so fresh and the atmosphere is fun too!

3. Connor is at the stage where he really enjoys playing games, so yesterday we played Candy Land, Candy Land Castle, CoCo the Clown, and Hi-Ho Cherrio. Daddy came home just in time to join in too! He also must not have the competitive Weston genes in him from my mom's side of the family because he never really cares who wins.

4. I'm missing 2...that is Connor being 2! The day he turned 3 we have begun to experience a new child and I'm not sure I like this one..haha. He is really testing us a lot and let's just say if I wasn't exhausted at the end of the day before..I DEFINITELY am now!! Everything from getting dressed in the morning, cleaning up, sharing with friends, going to bed..you name it! We have really stuck to our training methods and what we expect from him and I am glad to say that the latter half of yesterday he was truly an angel!! Eric came into our room after putting him down and said ,'who is that child?', because he was so good! Hopefully, this will be a short lived stage!! Anyone else experienced this?

5. Eric had an interview over the phone this morning and it couldn't have gone better. He has an interview at their office Monday and we will see what happens. I'm not sure I'm prepared to move but also interested to see where the Lord is directing us.

6. I have a new WoodWick candle and I'm in love with the scent..haha. Eric keeps laughing at me because I keep talking about it but everytime I walk in the house and am greeted by it..it puts a smile on my face. It's the little things in life..isn't it?

7. I am procrastinating by doing this right now because I don't want to tackle my desk which is currently filled with lots of mail including bills..yuck! I miss the days where I didn't have any responsibilities...haha!

8. Connor is currently whining in his room and can I just say I'm soooooooooooo tired of whining! I thought that was something only girls did but boy was I wrong!! We have told him that if he wants out of his room then he has to call us without whining...I might be waiting a long time listening to this until he finally stops and asks the right way!

9. We are having our pastor's family over for dinner tomorrow night. I love entertaining and cooking for people so I'm super excited that we can finally have them over!

10. I'm trying a new recipe tonight and can't wait to see how it turns out. It's a curried chicken dish and we love curry so I'm hoping it's going to be good!!
