A story

Nearly everything at home has a story to it... or a memory attached to it.
This painting is from the streets of Myanmar...

That said .... most of my stories are Asian *smiles*...
I've travelled to the rest of the world a fair bit as well... but am always inclided to get Asian things home.. particularly Indian

The Kettle below is from Good Earth...

The rickshaw below is from a little wooden craft store in Sri Lanka.. This one has a crack in it.. so if I got Sri Lanka this year.. I will most certainly pick one more..

The two things you see below.. The big diya is from The Craft Khazana
and the taller diya is from The Craft Safari...

And all these little things.. totally complete the way home looks *smiles*

a few more corners

A few more corners of my home.
These two beauties.. the sitar & the veena came all the way from India. The veena is an antique from Calcutta and the intricate work is often  conversation starter. The wood work is truly beautiful.

It took me a while to decide how they were going to be placed on the wall, and in which corner of my home.. Coz the living room is really small... to host these two beauties... But I had my mind on putting musical instruments on the wall.. and that was it.. .*smiles*

Do you have anything interesting on your wall??

Horse cabinet

One of my favourite things at home.. is the horse cabinet… This I got after a hunt down Sharjah .. from Pinkys I think.. Its my prized possession!!

Oh I have a new horse from Rajee Sood Homes to put up soon!! *smiles* Have been waiting!!

I like this home of mine, coz its got the perfect space for this swing... another of my prized possessions.

This Ganeshji weighs atleast 25 kilos and was hand carried by my cousin.
I feel so loved everytime I look at it... *smiles*

Preparing for Diwali

Preparing my home for the festive season is my favourite thing to do.

Removing the pretty things to put around. Cleaning & polishing everything to make it sparkle.

The girls are now big enough to put out the rangoli themselves...
Oh but the wind keeps putting the lights away...

I simply love to see candles ... everywhere..

Last year, we put out all our pretty trays with various sizes of lamps that we had, and various candles and candle holders at home...

A cluster of various items... made it look even more gorgeous..

Look how beautiful this looks.. *smiles*

Can't wait to start putting on the lights this year... *smiles*

Diwali food

Food display is my favourite thing to do...
Here is what we did for Diwali last year...

This was jal jeera ...
Jeera means cumin and this is a refreshing drink typically made of jeera & lemonade... tastes yumm!!

We had kebabs on skewers with little coriander chutney with them..

Individually served chaat ...
This is my all time favourite.. I can eat chaat at anytime of the day!

We had a variety of chaat, paapdi chaat, dahi chaat, channa chaat. *sigh*

More kebabs in a different display...

And the evening simply looked amazing... the food was impressive too! *smiles*

Corners of my home

All set to keep this carpet aside & put up my new one. Hence I thought I’ll quickly take a few pics & share them too.

This is how my home looks everyday… (atleast when it is clean)

This little lamp was my new find last year, from the craft safari. I totally loved it *smiles*

Posting pictures of corners seems to be my favourite time pass *smiles*
