Happy Birthday Saturated Canary

A short post, just wanted to share a card I made using this sweet digital image from
Saturated Canary.  I coloured with Copics then added a bit of sparkle with a couple
of different gel pens.

I decided to add a couple of frames cut from gold cardstock and pattern paper.
Add at different angles so it highlights the image and takes away that worry
of whether the image is centred on the card.

Finished it off with the 'Happy Birthday' die cut.

A family moment.. Archer turns one  Here he is with his brother, Mason
and sister, Sophie. We have spent more time watching Archer over the last
year through Snapchat and messenger . So lucky we have the technology we
do these days. Even though they don't live that far away between Isolation time,
no traveling or visiting due to Covid we have missed a few birthdays and
celebrations. But we still get to see parts of their life and that is a blessing.

Crafty hugs everyone

With Love Rainbow Rose

Todays card is made with stamps from The Ton, both the bunch of roses and that gold embossed pattern on the vellum.

I coloured the roses with Copics and followed the same pattern I used for a Rose I coloured in a class with Kit and Clowder plending one colour into the next. Love how it turned out and have done this a few times now as I really like it.

After I finished colouring I fussy cut the roses and after trying a few ideas I decided I liked the look of them laying on some soft green coloured vellum. I then remembered this background stamp I had also purchased from The Ton. I love how it looks and here I have used as coming from the side, stars and dots and heats embossed in gold it looks wonderful.

I finished the card off with a die cut sentiment in gold 'With Love'. I hope you like it as much as I do.

OUR LIFE AT THIS TIME

Today is our last day of isolation and I even got a phone call from the department of health thanking me for helping Scott deal with the isolation time.
It was an interesting two weeks and we have worked our way through a number of puzzles, colouring (he is now the proud owner of a large collection of alcohol markers and watercolour markers), called on friends to drop off bits and pieces that had been forgotten in grocery deliveries.

Elysha has been in her element watching movies, parts of movies, chatting to herself, writing long stories where she marries the hero (each time its different, Harry Potter, Dr Who (Matt Smith one) etc, dancing with the Wii and the latest is singing with a microphone along with music that also has the words for karaoke.
It is a very interesting experience as its in the same area Scott is doing puzzles or colouring and it doesn't appear to worry him that her tone flat, made up words when the captions were too fast for her, terrible voice going from song to song.

Scott also talks to himself but a lot less than Elysha and we know this is a form of working out problems and working out what is going on before discussing with us.

Scott is a routine person and every step is pondered and decided on with lots of thought.  Everyday he goes for a walk out the front, down the driveway, turns left five paces then up the stairs to the front windows left then repeat approx 15 times.
Everything  must be explained, rationalised, discussed and things we just take for granted are big for him. Most days are good, some I feel mentally exhausted by the end of the day having explained every step and every decision to both Scott and Elysha.

I think he has learnt a lot with us over the last year especially since March when things changed and he started coming every day. He has learnt to relax very slightly understanding I don't stress the little things, he has gotten use to my sense of humour and even sits and laughs with me when I stir up my husband (his brother) who plays the game well.

There are definitely times I want to run and hide or rip my hair out. I dream of a holiday where I'm the only one that goes and I sit watching sunsets with a yummy cocktail in my hand and a good book to read.
. In this dream holiday everyone can sign fluently, there is no need for social distancing and I get a massage every day.  Mmmmm I think Im asking for too much there maybe.....

The Flower Challenge #46 Summer/Winter Reminder

Its time for the reminder for the challenge at The Flower Challenge Blog and this month is Summer/Winter.
If you were super quick at the beginning of the month you would have seen this card one minute then next it was gone. Yep...... posted the wrong card..... so now Im sharing , again.
I love this stamp from The Ton  Morning Glory that flowers through every season bar Winter. I never used this background stamp enough to begin with as my colouring was a little flat I felt. But since adding lots of cours and layers in watercolour I love using it as a bright card well worth sending to someone.

I have silver embossed the whole image and here I have tilted so you can see the shimmer added to the painted layers. Don't mistake that for messy embossing on the purple flower it is glitter in the sparkle layer added to the watercolour.

I have added to a large pale green cardbase after die cutting the word die sentiment from the card front ' Sending Sunshine'. I did cut again in fun foam in blue and in gold mirror card then stacked up. I have saved the floral die cut word for another card.
I'm really please with this card and look forward to sending to a friend.

Now its time to go check out the Flower Challenge Blog to see the stunning creation from Mac Mable, our Guest Designer this month, and also from the Design Team. As always they have all made amazing inspirational cards and look forward to your visit.

Here's hoping you decide to take part in our challenge this month but hurry up its ending soon, and I'll see you again soon.

The Flower Challenge #46 Summer/Winter - Take Two

Yep Im back again and if you were here earlier today you would have seen a different card, just wipe that from your memory OK :)

I accidently posted the wrong card so lets start again.

I have gone with this wonderful floral stamp from Studio Katia Floral Garden, it is a wonderful stamp. I have coloured with Copics.

I couldnt bare cutting this down so I used my frame dies from Honey Bee Stamps they are called deckle edge and I love that the set is for square frames and also the large number of sizes in the pack. After cutting the floral image I added it to a pale blue cardfront.

I still felt it needed something so I then grabbed the two largest in the die set and cut a silver glitter frame and rather than add as a perfect fit frame I added at a different angle. All done

So now its time to go check out the amazing makes from the rest of the Design Team and our Guest Designer Mac Mable and my apologies for my previous post.

Happy Birthday Rhino and Friends

A birthday card that nearly hit the bin. Do you ever have those days
where every step something seems to go wrong?

I coloured this in the last 30 Day Colouring Challenge and I think I am going to spend this challenge using the images I have coloured as I have so many and maybe colouring one or two plus a big project I am in the middle of stamping out.
So back to this creation, added Glossy Accents to balloon, beak, icing and hat.added the image to a white card base, oops crooked, removed without too much damage and fixed.

Then I decided to use the big Happy Birthday that fits perfectly gold mirror card and I dont know how I managed it but I got glue everywhere. There were marks on the mirror card itself and all over the place on the card. The more I tried to clean it up the worse it got.

I added some die cut stars and banner scrolls, I liked how they looked but the eye still drifted to the marks from not only the glue now but also from the rubber I had used to clean some off. Then I thought ok, glitter, so I added more glue in the areas where I had glue marks and on the die cut, added lots of white glitter. Thought it was okay

Took photos and bang where ever the gold letters didn't have glitter it looked stupid. Last try, die cut the Happy Birthday again, was very careful with the glue and added to the card front, no glitter.
I think I saved it and it will do for someones birthday.

What a drama for one card. Thats it, see you soon with more. Thank
you for coming to visit and I hope you come again soon.

Hugs Aileen
