Here I come!

Yes, my trip has been finalized, tickets and all!!! I will be going to Northern California June 21st-July 2ND, how freaking excited am I???? Um, very:) Sorry Will, but the suitcase just cant fit you, and with all these rules and regulations I'm sure we would get caught. To be quite honest with you all I'm not just up and ditching my boyfriend for the Golden State, this is a sort of work related job. I will be escorting the wee one I watch to see her dad for 12 days, but I'm sure I will have a great time..... I'm so giddy!

OK enough of my aimless rambling on about my upcoming trip(yipppppppeeee Cali) OK I'M DONE!

I sent out the "Hope" album today. Way to go me on getting errands done on time, it must be this summer like weather, or err Spring like.

I will be working on another one tonight for someone who is going through some really hard, hard, trying times. It means alot to me to make art for people and make them smile.

"Sex and the City" hits this weekend, minor giddiness going on over here for that as well!!

And I leave you with this link to a great store that has opened up in my hometown. They seem to have very unique, beautiful things..............................Lealand Eve Boutique.

Be back tomorrow with some possible images of some new stuff!

Dr doolittle

Dr doolittle, originally uploaded by coloredsprinkles.

Um, just trying out digi scrapping. I promise I wont post anymore tonight. Just had to share my simple page, it was fun but I still love hands on, finger coated in paint and glue and all:)

"Hope"

This is something I worked on this past weekend. It took me awhile to pick the perfect quote I wanted to put in it, and I was very happy in the end when I decided on one that I had came across awhile ago.

"Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul and sings the tones without the words and never stops at all" - Emily Dickinson.

This book was made a for a secret someone and will be going out in the mail sometime this week.

Its made out of left over cardboard that I had laying around, and just tons of scraps, paints, gesso, doodling, yada yada.

I need to make more of thes
post about going ons below this one.

Double feature

It has been a long weekend for me. I went home(well to Will's house) on Thursday evening and arrived back here in CT today. Sometimes it nice to get back into routine, but I still miss being out there, its soo much better than this town in my opinion.
Alot of sitting around, being couch potatoes went on.
Alot of bookstore browsing went on, a barbecue and yesterday a visit to the park. It was a much needed break for sure.
Some of my new favorite things have been:

1. no nail polish. Who would've thought that me the Queen of nail polish would opt for a bare nail?? It started to feel like suffocation almost, I don't know maybe its the summer. PLUS every time I paint my freaking nails they chip or get messy from making things. So I'm going nude for a bit(not a big deal to all of you but I feel good about it)

2. I'm not a big fan of McDonald's, however, their $1 sweet tea is just soo yum. I love iced tea just not the powdered kind, I like fresh brewed. That is what it tastes like, but with lots of sugar. I know the sugar thing is not all that great but ya know.

3. Historical novels, I just cant get enough. I think I have enough to last me this whole summer and then some. I just get so lost in them for hours.

4. This may not be a new favorite thing, but I have decided to grow my hair out FINALLY. You must hold me to my word, because there will come a time that I want to just chop it off.

5. Dresses, I am going to start dressing a little bit more girlish, this I have decided. PLUS they are just more comfortable then say shorts or jeans.

Thats my list of sorts. Excuse me for just being all over the place, I have so much going on in my mind, and so much I want to share.

Enough of that. So just for fun I am gonna leave you with some pictures of my animal/insect loving boyfriend. His heart is just so big. He found a tiny baby caterpillar crawling on his leg and of course he let it sit there for a bit, watching it crawl on his arm exclaiming how cute it was. I named him Harry(yes we have no lives) After a bit Will decided to find it a safe place somewhere on the leaves of the near by tree. He is such a Dr Doolittle.

Oh and today I read that I made the Catwalk over on SIS!!!! My "Fishstick" layout was chosen by one of the Fashionistas named Diane, thank you once again if you are reading this, very sweet of you. I just love to make stuff and share it with others and also look at the stuff they make. It makes it even more special when people decide to make it known that they appreciate my stuff. Its really special. SO THANK YOU:)

fiddeling around.........a tribute to Fishstick:)

Well Fishstick was my very awesome Goldfish about 2 years ago. Go ahead laugh it up, lol. But seriously, the fish was like no other. I won him and about 5 others at one of those carnival games and out of the bunch he last about 2 years. He grew pretty big, and seemed like he wanted to live life on the outside of the bowl instead of looking out from the inside. There were a few times at night when I would hear him splashing away, literally jumping out of the water like he was some sort of Seaworld fish that put on shows. He was a pretty rad Goldfish I tell ya!

Only seemed suitable to make a little ditty for him
EDIT: It should say "I would hear him jumping out of the water" I left out the hear in that sentence, bummer!

I should be cleaning, but......................

I had to finish this layout. Its definitely colorful, summery and well strawberry:) The layout may have done better without a picture, just maybe a collage of sorts. I have to stop thinking that I neeeeeeeeeeeed to use a photo in each thing I do, I DON'T! Right?! Maybe tonight I will focus on that. This layout was just done with some random paper I picked up from Michael's, no big name brands here people. I did a sort of basket weave thingy, I liked the effect of this, very sweet.

The strawberry stickers are from the Martha Stewart line though and the piece I did my journaling on is from the K & Co Amy Butler line, didn't I tell ya I loved it? I did some blue paint wash on the card stock and then some gessoing(spelled right?) here and there. I think its like a sugary color explosion.

Journaling says:

"Strawberry fields forever............one of my favorite places to go sit, and think on a beautiful summers day!"

and there is a Polaroid of Strawberry fields, ta da!!!!!

Oh, was so silly to hear I won the RAK over on the Peachtree Studios blog. Thank you once again!!!!

Ok, over and out. Must go mop or something.

the unfortunate Monday

Woke up this morning with an overwhelming feeling of pending doom, or something along those lines. About 2 hours later I got a flat tire! Fortunately a very nice gentlemen(seemed to be a MTA shuttle bus driver) helped me out:) Unfortunately it took gobs of time trying to figure out the jack which then fell over and caused my car to fall to the ground and roll forward, all was well after that though, luckily.
To make up for the mini mishap I stopped and got an iced coffee and a sandwich and went on my merry way, trying to just get more upbeat. As I merge onto the Hutchinson it becomes apparent that it is non moving traffic for miles and miles, ick. I think it took me something like 20Ty minutes to move 2 miles. In the distance I saw somewhat of relief in sight, there appeared to be flashing lights galore so right away I thought "OK accident, people are backed up to the sight of the accident and then we are home free" Well that was the case, however only after I had to pass the horrific sight that was once a car and a person inside. It really startled me and made me extremely anxious and horribly sad. From then on I just wanted to get home, feet on the ground, no more driving. I just felt so nervous and crawling out of my skin.
I made it home and the rest of the day went ok, I guess it was more of an unfortunate beginning to a Monday, eh?

I was featured over on Scrap Scene in which I did a little interview about scrapping and all that good stuff, so be sure to swing on over there and check it out:) Thank you to Angie and the rest of the Scrap Scene people for allowing me the chance to share my stuff as well as my constant babbling and silly humor.
Last week they did a feature on another one of the runner ups, Louise Williams from New Zealand. Good stuff I tell ya.

What else.........................hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, oh got some new stuffs this weekend while I was back home. Finally caved in and bought a round big circle punch, makes it much easier when cutting out mass amounts of, well circles!
I haven't been much of a Martha Steward Scrapping supply girl, but I did come across some cute scalloped sort of borders and adorable fabric strawberry sticker thing a ma jigs(using them in my current piece). I also came across the new Amy Butler line brought to you by the fine people at K&Co. Its very vintagey and sweeeeeeeet. I believe the package I bought was called.............AB Lotus Tea Box Die Cut Card stock Ephemera. Digging it. Desert dollies anyone?? I purchased two different sizes of these fine objects, totally gonna fit them into some projects, sooner or later.
As of right now, I am working on a layout, taking a break though to fill ya in, but on the verge of whipping out the needle and thread. I should be posting pictures of it probably by tomorrowish, something like that.

Yup so that's about it, gotta get going before the caffeine stops flowing through my system. Reality Bites is playing in the background, so live this movie.

Bye:)
P.S: enjoying the new Death Cab "Narrow Stairs" album, I can always relate to their songs. Its as if they have written their lyrics my life:)
Also.......Prince Caspian was a pretty decent flick, a little more warsy, less magical.
Next up, Indian Jones................hes back!!!

nothing to report, but im checking in anyway

Well nothing big going on over here in this neck of the woods. I think my highlight of this past week has been a tag sale find I made this past Saturday, go me. Ok, well you see I usually gravitate to the book area first, I have a thing for them. I'm checking out whats on top of the table and grabbing a few things here and there, a couple of good biographies of famous women that are good for young girls to read(I'm thinking about the little girl I take care of, I'm all about the reading and how important it is) So all in all it was a good find, I was a bit disappointed at first, nothing else eye catching. Then I realize there are boxes under the table kind of hidden out of sight, and what do I find?? (Ok this is a big deal to me by the way) The entire Lemony Snicket series(hardcover) and the entire Narnia series!!!!!!!!!! Jackpot, and for all of these books I paid a whopping $12 dollars!!!! These were all in good condition, and the Lemony Snicket series goes for around $10 a piece and the Narnia series about $7 so I saved around $100 or so bucks. That was my grand find and most prized possession of the week:)

I just finished reading "A Beautiful Boy" by David Sheff. Its a pretty heavy read(not literally, emotionally) Its a memoir of a father and the story of his son's drug addiction. I found it to be a good read, eye opening, sad, disturbing, a whole bunch of emotions rolled into one. I am now onto his son's own memoir called "Tweak" its of course about his drug addiction, his point of view, the other end.

I received a very nice prize package just yesterday from my contest win over at ScrapScene. I won a very cool stamp set from Danelle Johnson, and it happened to be a stamp set that I have been contemplating buying, a journaling set, so I'm excited to use that.

I haven't made any layouts since my last one, the "This is my face" one. I have been frustrated about a few things and I guess it put me in a mood of sorts, one that does not include creating things. I do have an idea floating in my head at the moment, and its not of my norm sort of thing. I also have to create my layout for Gettin Sketchy and this months challenge. You should come over and participate as well, it will be fun and you can win a very cool prize:)

I am really loving this girls art! I came across her videos over on Youtube.................a huge addiction of mine every night. She is just so interesting, and bubbly, and fun to watch, and her art is so whimsical and beautiful to boot.

So yeah, that's pretty much it for now. Um, my not so very interesting entry for today:)

Oh well, they cant all be fantastic and interesting right?

Kicking it with the pink and green....

Trying out some bright colors, here is pink and green and well black all together(lets not forget the white) I used some stuff I received in the SIS secret swap(thank you to whoever it was that sent me this stuff) I took the fabric squares that have pink flowers on them and I stitched them on in a very random pattern on black card stock. I loved the opposite side with the pink KI flower lace paper(love love) I used alot of contrasting, painting, stitching, doodling(you know the deal) The journaling is from a Kate Nash song entitled "Mouthwash" (great song).

"This is my face
Covered in freckles
With the occasional spot
And some veins

This is my body
Covered in skin
And not all of it
You can see

And, this, is my mind
It goes over and over
The same old lines" - Kate Nash

So, its raining, which I kind of enjoy in the spring because I love how eveyrthing is green outside(I dont know, its just my thing) Its Friday and I have some things to do so that I can wrap up this week. Its been very wierd you can say, however I got the knack back and Im running with it.
P.S: The above image may be a bit off. I have started using the scanner to get my layouts onto the computer, and well I have to then piece them together in Photoshop and im still new at that!
OH and Happy Mothers day to all you mommys out there as well as a very special Happy Mom's day to my friends who have kiddies:)

Happy NSD!!!!!

Just wanted to pop in and give a quick little weekend loving:) Today is National Scrap booking day, and well oddly enough I haven't
done any scrap booking actually in about 2 weeks!! BUT I am in spirit
celebrating this fine holiday by gathering items that I will be sending off to
my super rad partner for the SIS Secret sister swap! So far I have
gotten a great little stash of goodies, and its only just begun, cant
wait to send them to her:) As for my package I received yesterday, I was blown away. Whoever it is that is my secret swapper, she sent me theeee most generous
, fun, fantastic box of goods EVER! So if she is reading this(whoever
you are) thank you thank you thank you, it may just be what I need to
get out of my uninspired mode. I will snap some pictures tomorrow when
I arrive back home so I can share with all of you what I received.
Other then that I pretty much drove all the way to a scrap book store THAT NO LONGER EXISTS! bummer, then we saw Iron man,
which was good for at least the parts I was awake(I was very tired and
the seats were so comfy, and no the movie was not bad or boring)
The real kicker to my day was the drive home. Rain+ already bad drivers = EXTREMELY bad drivers. I think I gritted my teeth the whole way home, but its all good.

Time for a movie and some chilling.

Later!
