Holiday hiatus......

Thats where I am at the moment.
I am making gifts, ornaments, planning days off and walking the dog:)

I have big plans for a different blog, maybe moving over to Typepad and eventually setting up my ETSY shop.

Until them my mind is mush and I just havent had the words to write on here.

Way to distracted by good and bad things(NO not those things!), blah!!

November SPC challenge week 4

Well lately you can find me in my trusty side kicks........................................ my newest pair of Converse that is!! I just cant be without them. Once you got them to where you want them, all nice and broken in you never want to remove them.

In mad dashes out of the house I just slip them on. They have seen rain, sleet, city streets and country sides.

They hide wear and tear, they are like Timex because they take a licking and keep on ticking(well in their case, walking:)

I will have these sneakers 3 years from now. By then they will be like an old friend. They will be retired and taken out for comfortable wearing when new ones are still getting broken in.

For now they are pretty much the only shoe my foot doesn't complain about!

Patty makes a scarf!!!!!!

I finally made a second one for myself. This is in between making ones as gifts and just taking an all out break from the knitting world. Ive had this yarn for a few weeks now and I really wanted to make myself something with it, I loved the colors which were brown, orange, pink and yellow.

It is just a simple scarf that I added a button to so that it stays put and I also stitched on a few felt stars. I think I will be making more with the sewn on felt, I love how it looks and how it personalizes it even more so.

Next I need to learn how to knit more then just scarves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This website and all of the podcasts that are up and yet to come. Jennifer Ackerman-Haywood at Craft Sanity interviews different inspiring crafters and artists alike each week and you are more then welcome to listen to it via browser or download it onto your I-pod. I just recently listened to the podcasts for Amanda Blake from Soule Mama, and Hiedi Kenney of My Paper Crane.
I just couldn't stop listening because they both were extremely interesting and they gave me the itch to keeping knitting and get going with other projects.

I highly recommend this site!!!

And of course the two women mentioned above both have wonderful blogs that I frequent allot as of lately:

SPC week 3 November

I have so much I really want to post, one of them being my extra fun weekend(that just past) that I had with a friend. I have many a pictures from a really cool old museum that is all about collecting. I don't want to get into details about it on this post because this post is about my SPC challenge week 3 for November. I was contemplating even participating this week and here I am on Wed adding my link.
Its kind of an oldie but goodie. It has to do with a locket my boyfriend bought for me which at the moment is misplaced(I will find it though, mark my words)
It is very special to me, and as soon as it is rediscovered I will wear it every day. So here it is!

SPC week 2 November

OK so in the last post I told all of you how I don't wear dresses. Well maybe it was a tiny lie because I dont but yet I found one that I love to wear here and there.

Sometimes I am drawn to wearing this one summer dress that is very light weight and has a retro inspired pattern. Since it was to cold out to wear it how I usually do(over a bathing suit or just with flip flops) I wore it with a yellow thermal, some jeans and a pair of my favorite converse and let me tell you that it was the most comfortable Saturday attire for being lazy.

I am not good at snapping pictures of myself unless its from the chest up because that's all I seem to get in unless I have a timer on. AND me being a klutz can never get back into position properly before it goes off and always wind up falling down in my pictures.

This week I decided to capture the view down and I loved the way it came out. You can see my dress pattern and then a blurry view of my jeans and sneakers, but you get the point of the outfit.

I will call my attempt for week 2 of November's SPC challenge......................

Well its alllllllllll over, until next year that is:)
I thought we would have to much candy and it turns out we wouldn't have enough! They get alot



of kids here in the development and I was bombarded by groups of them ever 5 minutes. There were some kids who were just taking candy from the bowl without asking and they may have helped contribute to the loss of much needed candy.

I myself wore simple devil ears and an exaggerated drawn on black curly mustache. I also did all of Julia's makeup(the girl I nanny for) I happen to think that her costume was pretty darn cool, not because I made it up but ya know.



















I made sure I took pictures of my much loved jack o'lanterns before they finally kick the bucket and their all a glow with candles.
































It was a good night.

Im all ready are you??

The pumpkins are carved, we have Jake Skellington, Frankenstien, The Devil, a regular Jack O'lantern, and get this people.....................a Pepsi logo (my boss's company, she carved it all by herself)

The seeds have been scooped out and baked, yum. We have three different varieties, my favorite are the curry and red pepper ones.


I have baked about two dozen pumpkin shaped cookies that are decorated with orange icing, green icing, black icing, sprinkles, and eyes!!! These will be delivered up to school at 3 for an after school program Halloween party.

At 6pm its off to get ready for trick or treating, and what can be more suitable for me but yet a Devil:)

As for now I am just being a bum, watching the AMC horror-athon and drinking tea.

I love Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SPC November Week #1

"What I wear" is November's theme for SPC.

I usually can be found in jeans, t-shirts, sweaters(in the winter of course) and my Converse. Occasionally I wear something a little more shmansy, and I zip on the black boots, BUT that is about as far as I got. I am not the girliest of girls. I like grass stains and getting paint all over me.

However there comes a time in a girl's life when she has to wear a dress for something and last month it was my sister's wedding. So its almost the opposite of what I wear and its more what I don't wear but did for this one time(well until I have to do it again) Im sure in the upcoming weeks you will get the insights to what you can really find me in on any given day but for now im starting off with me in a dress(gasp).

Although its not my usual I did love it and it suited me fine. I felt so girly in it and I realized that wearing a dress once in awhile isn't so bad. Its nice to get compliments and twirl around in a big poofy dress once in awhile. I highly recommend it.

And with that I start this months challenge with my first image........................................"Not my Usual Jeans" I offer two images, one in and black and white and one in color. BOTH were taking by me, I set the camera up, ran over and posed and snap. Quick moving here people!!

I love this image. It is of my friend Melissa and me and a few of her friends pumpkin picking. I am the one appearing to take a picture. I love how we are spread out through the field.

I sort of snagged it from her myspace page, tee heeeeeee:)

SPC food week #4

If I'm not drinking coffee then I'm drinking tea. My tea of choice lately has been Chinese Tea or Earl Grey with a splash of milk. On this day I was using me new dainty ULTRA fem tea cup Will bought me. It is swarming with painted roses and gold leafing, it is girly.

This is how I wake up in the morning, caffeine of any sorts. Sometimes I like it extreme in a Venti style caffeine over load cup or some days out of a tiny cup in my bed relaxing.

And there you have it........................Tea for one:)

In the works

I am just going to put this out there because if I do it will get my butt in gear!

I VOW to become more creative, more productive. I am going to start using all of my art supplies and craft odds and ends.
I AM going to create and once I get the ball rolling I WILL be addicted, sucked in ONCE again.
I will pick up my knitting needles again EVEN if I can only knit a scarf.
I will learn that dang sewing maching FINALLY.
I will attack that pile of scrapbooking materials and work with my poloroids I took all summer long.
I will post more pictures on my blog of all of the above said, UNLESS its a gift which in that case I will show after the fact.

I am saying all of this because I have noticed how lazy I have become and how I feel sometimes I am ready to bust at the seams with creativity!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Forgotten photo to share

I want to hide out and read a book in this old gazebo.

I came across this hidden treasure in the Oyster Bay Planting Fields this past summer. It was one of a handful of adventures me and Will went on.

The picture was dumped off in my photobucket and forgotten, UNTIL today I was browsing my images and WA LA a must post!

Pink for a gloomy day

Its fall, well it feels like it this past week.
It also feels like April with its chilly showers and the need for somewhat warm clothes.
The first few days of this rainy weather and I was OK with it, hiding in my room lighting my fallish smelling candles watching movies and trying to fire up the creativity that has taken a hiatus inside of me.
Then came today with the overwhelming gloom and the need to just not get out of bed and wrap the blanket over my head and stay there.

SNAP out of it!

AND that is what I did. I jumped out of bed, put on my bright pink shirt and matching shoes and then decided to post some eye candy I came across this past weekend.

I am very slow with posting pictures of meaning, I still have a few from my sister's wedding. HOWEVER my camera's batteries have died and I need to get new ones in order to upload them.

I do though have a few of something that caught my eye and cried out for me.
OH if I only wasn't driving a Volkwagon Rabbit I would've taken you home with me and nursed you back to your pink pristine health:( BUMMER!

Here's to the future when my car is big enough to pick up such great found objects.

Until then I will drool over the images I have for always and forever and hope:)

SPC- Food week 2, yipppeee!!!

Ok, ok, ok.
SO the other night I was enjoying my red wine after a long day and much needed time to myself. While sipping at the wine and looking down into my glass mid conversation with my boyfriend an interesting sight of patterns and shades of red(at least in my wine induced eye site state:)appeared to me.
Low and behold with camera in hand I snapped a few images. This food self portrait for the second week I call "Red red wine" you make me feel so fine...................ahhhhhhh UB40:)

These boots. They are by Campers and I really would love to be wearing them on my feet!

Sighhhh, I have see them a few times last year and didnt know who made them. After much investigating I found them and now I must find a way to own them:)

In other news I was gifted this very awesome adult Mood ring by Lucky Brand.

An Autumn weekend..........

This past weekend I spent my Saturday picking apples, pumpkins and visiting the beach back out east where I used to live.

It was great to spend the day with good people including my friend Melissa and partake in some fall activities.

We took tons of pictures, laughed, drank yummy apple cider and then went beach combing and trail walking.


It was a perfect day and a great start to the Autumn season!I also realized just how lucky I am to have someone like Melissa in my life. She is a true friend through and through and always is positive towards me and lets me know just how important I am to her and I let her know that she is equally important to me.
I also realized that I just don't spend enough time with her and that has to change, I definitely need more of her in my life she is such a vibrant individual and I am very lucky.

Now what to do with all the apples I picked?? haha


















Yup at the end of the night I was exhausted and drawing faces on the small pumpkins I purchased. This one was for Will and he was Dracula Pumpkin head.

On Thurday we will get some good use out of a few of the apples, Julia's(the girl I am a nanny for) class will be making applesauce which I will be going up to the school to help out with. It will give me something to do.

What I really need to get a recipe for is candy apples, such an old fashion fall treat.

Maybe I will try my hand at a cobbler of some sort or baked apple pie.

Oh how I love this time of year.

Ok I am off to get my hair cut, cant wait:)
