Zombie chase

Today is my son Steve's birthday, it's also the day of the Zombie Chase in Provo!!

We decided what a great way to celebrate Steve's birthday! We'll run the zombie chase in honor of him!! We went to Jessica's house on Friday night, and played games, did our nails, Conner played video games and watched movies. We spent the night there, and then in the morning, set out to get chased by zombies.

You know, it's not very easy running away from zombies with a baby, so I decided to stay behind, and protect my grand baby. We hung out with "Bucky", and watched all the runners get chased.
I'm happy to say my kiddos survived!!! They do have some speed in their legs!! It was so fun having the three of them together, and thinking about their brother on his birthday. I'm sure he really appreciated us for that!! Haha!

Moab

After close to 20 years with Varsity Contractors, and becoming President of System 1 (a sister company) Steve finally turned in his resignation. He partnered with 3 other men for ownership in his own janitorial company. Although it's a huge step for him and our family, it isn't really a huge change in employment. He will be doing the same work he has been doing, but will not have to travel as much. The business is mostly located in Utah.

Well, once he took on this new job, he and the other owners decided to have a retreat to talk about the business, and get to know us a little better. We all traveled to MOAB, UTAH. What a blast.

I made Steve and Conner take a picture in our room. Isn't it cute??

One of the other families to join us were the Gowans, who have been our friends since Conner was born. He had fun hanging out with the Gowan's girls.
We traveled to Dead Horse Point with the group. Wow, talk about amazing views. I've actually never been to the Grand Canyon, but this must be a pretty close second.

Then we took a Hummer ride. I really enjoyed this part because they had a guide take us on these slick rock trails. There were people just driving in their own jeeps, but I think I would have been too nervous. It was nice having someone drive us who knows their way around on these trails. There were some pretty scary areas. It was really a neat day.

We also went to a "light" show, where we got on these boats, rode up the river at night, and they shined these lights on the side of the red cliffs and told stories about the history of Moab. It was kind of cold in the evening, and although they had blankets for us, I was still cold. It was also kind of long and kind of boring. Not exactly what we expected. There were a lot of elderly people on the boat with us, they really seemed to enjoy it. Maybe in a few years, when my hair has a little more grey in it, I'll try again. Haha.

Sage's baby shower

Sage is living in Cedar City, and is just about to pop! We really wanted to have a baby shower for her, but weren't sure how we could make it work because she really can't travel. Well, after having Jessica's online, we decided maybe that would work for Sage too, so we invited everyone we could to come to my house. Jamie and Marty came from Nauvoo, and Lynn and Sharon surprised us, and came from Washington. Erin and Jessica helped me so much, I really get stressed out with parties of any sort. I basically provide the home, and beg everyone else to help me with games, food, etc.

We ended up having Sage Skype with us on the computer, then each person sat in front of the computer and opened the gift they had brought for her. I thought it was pretty clever, it gave them a chance to talk to her about the gift, and her a chance to thank them for it.

After the shower, Jamie and Marty loaded everything up in their trailer, and drove it down to Sage and Zach in Cedar City.
