After close to 20 years with Varsity Contractors, and becoming President of System 1 (a sister company) Steve finally turned in his resignation. He partnered with 3 other men for ownership in his own janitorial company. Although it's a huge step for him and our family, it isn't really a huge change in employment. He will be doing the same work he has been doing, but will not have to travel as much. The business is mostly located in Utah.
Well, once he took on this new job, he and the other owners decided to have a retreat to talk about the business, and get to know us a little better. We all traveled to MOAB, UTAH. What a blast.
I made Steve and Conner take a picture in our room. Isn't it cute??

One of the other families to join us were the Gowans, who have been our friends since Conner was born. He had fun hanging out with the Gowan's girls.
We traveled to Dead Horse Point with the group. Wow, talk about amazing views. I've actually never been to the Grand Canyon, but this must be a pretty close second.
Then we took a Hummer ride. I really enjoyed this part because they had a guide take us on these slick rock trails. There were people just driving in their own jeeps, but I think I would have been too nervous. It was nice having someone drive us who knows their way around on these trails. There were some pretty scary areas. It was really a neat day.
We also went to a "light" show, where we got on these boats, rode up the river at night, and they shined these lights on the side of the red cliffs and told stories about the history of Moab. It was kind of cold in the evening, and although they had blankets for us, I was still cold. It was also kind of long and kind of boring. Not exactly what we expected. There were a lot of elderly people on the boat with us, they really seemed to enjoy it. Maybe in a few years, when my hair has a little more grey in it, I'll try again. Haha.
