Steve took Conner to Alaska last week. They just got home yesterday. They said the fishing was actually really bad for King Salmon, and right after the trip the river they were fishing on was closed to salmon fishing, but Conner turned out to be quite the fisherman. His fish was the biggest, it weighed 37lbs, Steve caught one that was 27lbs. Conner spent most of his time fishing for trout, he lost count of how many he caught. Needless to say, he caught a lot. They spent a lot of time eating, I guess the meals were amazing, and Conner beat Steve at pool several times, he's pretty proud of that.
As a side note, Conner LOVES moccasins, he wears them everywhere, and wears holes in them, then buys more. I was pretty surprised to see he even wore them in Alaska!! Silly boy.

She's gone
This was the first week I got to actually participate in surgeries. It was an incredible week. The first surgery I helped with, I had another nurse say to sit in the main chair, and she would walk me through the things I needed to do. Well, I sat down, and pretty much performed all of my duties perfectly, with no help from her. She was amazed at how well I did, the doctor said I performed well above my experience level, and did a great job handing off the instruments, then he took it a step further and called the office manager. She called me into her office later that day and said the doctor said I was so good in surgery it was "freaky". Needless to say, it was a great experience for me. The next day I had 3 surgeries. I did really well again, this was with a different doctor. I absolutely LOVE surgeries!! So incredible.
Our stake is having a trek this month. They asked people to sign up to help with different committees. Well, I knew I would not be able to take work off, so I didn't sign the list, but this week, I have had several people saying my name is on the committee for medical help. I don't know who put it there, but I ended up having that Friday off of work, so I will be able to help after all. The funny thing is, Conner and Dad will not be there, they will be going to Alaska. So I will be going to youth conference alone. I'm looking forward to it though.
So today was a sad day... Kaylea moved to Provo. I knew it was coming, but it seemed to come so fast. She has been packing her bags the last few days, and today we decided we'd take her to the store to get some of the basics she might need, food, soap, dishes, etc. After shopping, we took her to lunch at Casa Del Rey, then before Steve and I were even done eating, Kaylea was so anxious, she just kissed us goodbye, and drove to Provo. The house is so quiet... I miss my kids... =)
Conner was at a football tournament at Weber today. He came home with a sprained ankle. This is not a good start to the football season... ugh.
