Spending time with Avery

On Sunday evening our family went to Jessica and Chris' house for Sunday dinner. We felt kind of guilty because Chris made the whole meal, we should have been feeding them! After dinner, the rest of the family went home, and Conner and I stayed. It was my turn to help out mommy and baby. Conner ended up being such a great help! He said it was the best thing ever, playing Wii, eating lots of food, and playing with his new niece.

 It was nice having him around when I was trying to do other things around the house. She would fall asleep as soon as she was placed in his arms. I think it was the way he tickled her nose.

 I had such a blast, just spending time with them for a few days. Avery is such a sweet baby. When she's asleep she grins all the time. When she is awake she is so mellow, she just looks around with her big bright eyes. I couldn't get enough pictures. Chris and Jessica are such great parents, they absolutely love her to death, and are so thoughtful of each other as well. It was a joy to be around them.

A different kind of shower

 Jessica's aunt Molly had planned a shower for on Friday, August 5th. Jessica had her baby the day before, which kind of put a kink in the plans. We decided to have the shower anyway without Jessica there. Molly had this cute cake made for baby Avery.

I just love modern technology. We were able to use Skype and Jessica, Chris and Avery participated in the shower over the computer. We could talk to them, and they could talk to us. I ended up opening all the gifts in front of the computer, and we could all hear Jessica's reaction to each of the gifts. 

After everyone went home, Steve, Kaylea, and I all drove to Jessica's house to present her with the gifts, food, remnants of a game, and the balloons we used to decorate the party. They were so excited with everything, and so thankful for the shower gifts. It was a fun night.

Avery is born!

 On Thursday, August 4th, at about 1:00am, Jessica finally had her baby. She was 6lb 12oz 19"long and has dark brown/black hair. Steve and I got to go see her that morning, and we went nuts with the camera.

 Our first grandchild! It's so amazing!

Amber's Wedding August 6, 2011

 Amber, my niece has been living with my family for the summer. A few months ago, I introduced them to each other, and the rest is history! I'm just posting a few pictures from the temple. I didn't get a lot, but it is a nice representation of our family.
