jumpstart

In addition to the craziness of the holiday season, I decided to buy a car, move and catch up on work. In the midst of it all I found myself not taking pictures over the holidays. While I'm disappointed to not have documented the past month, I was happy to not worry about dragging around my camera, dealing with charged batteries, exposure and capturing the moment. Instead I just lived it, fully and with both of my eyes.

That said, I'm anxious to dive into my book on light and lighting in digital photography, and jumpstart my photo taking once again.

Until then, I'll be dreaming about Spring as we get a light dusting of snow here.

Kelly Moore Bags

I love love LOVE the look of Kelly Moore Bags. I am currently planning my trip to Zambia and I'd like to have a bag that doesn't look like it has an expensive camera in it. I also don't want to carry two bags (purse and camera bag) or wrap my camera in a towel and put it in a big purse like I did last time...enter, the B-Hobo bag by Kelly Moore. I am crossing my figners and toes that it arrives in time for me to get on a plane March 15th since the site says it will ship in "early March" but I'm ordering it regardless. That mustard colored bag must be mine.

shall we try this again?

So I guess I pretty much suck at updating this. I basically gave up on my photo 365 project back in March. But I'm restarting it (again) for the new year. I have 2.5 months until my trip to Zambia, so I really need to get a move on if I'm going to learn how to use my camera to its fullest.

In honor of that goal I present: Zambia 2008, in photos.

pushing play in duluth

Ok, I have been really lazy about taking pictures lately...let the record show that "Project 365" has been on pause since about day 8. I know this is a lame excuse, but it is hard to carry your camera with you everywhere in addition to your purse, lunch and anything else you have at the time. I did recently stuble upon Jo Totes which are a great option for ladies with SLR cameras to have a purse that fits all of their stuff at once...incuding safely holding the camera.

All unacceptable excuses aside, I recently restarted my project in Duluth. We only drove around for a few minutes for pictures on our way out of town, so like many of my recent photos, I look forward to going back for a "do over" when I have learned a few techniques.

And so I give you, 20 minutes in Duluth:
