Only a little over 3 weeks until baby # 2 (ya that's right, she still has no name) is here! Or maybe less since the doctor told me I'm already 3cm at 36 weeks...so we'll see. Hopefully not too early because I still have a lot of stuff to get done, including Amaia's birthday party. I'll be really put out if I can't do it.
Here's Amaia's 'Can-Do's for this month:
A hair tie is a 'tee-tie'
when we open the sun roof, she reach up with both hands and grab some sky. Then she'll make us get some, in both hands, even if we're driving. And then she'll eat the sky, and insist we do the same
still loves baby sister-she'll share her blankey with her by putting it over my stomach, and sometimes when she's playing on my iPod she'll hold it at an angle so that they can both 'see' it.
I guess I shouldn't be calling it 'my iPod'-that kid uses the thing more than I do! If I even get it out all I hear is 'turn iPod??? turn iPod more?' until I give it to her....
That being said, she sure messes up a lot of stuff on my iPod...Like adding things to my calendar, possibly deleting them, setting alarms, deleting Apps, and she deleted the note in my Notepad that had the list of all the things she did new in the last few weeks, so bear with me as I try to remember as many as I can
She's gotten herself a little attitude. She's been quite independent for about a month or so, but now it's just pure attitude. She's not so great at sharing anymore, and has started to hit when she gets mad.
Usually we let Amaia sleep in the car during Sacrament Meeting since church is 12-3 (aka her nap time), that way she gets at least an hour or so. This past week she decided she wasn't sleeping. After church we heard from her nursery leader that he saw a new side of her: She usually (according to him) will play nice with the kids (and I dont' remember exactly all he said), but last week she was hitting and the word of the day was "nnnnnnnnoo!"
She's started to say no (just like that-all the n's drawn out), even if she's doing what I asked her to do, she'll still say no.
She'll sit herself in the corner and tell me she's in time out. When I ask her what she did or why she was in timeout, about 90% of the time it's because she 'hit andrew' (our little friend across the street). The other 10% she hit either Daddy or Teddy.
If she doesn't feel well, she come up to me and in the most saddest voice ever tell me 'Amaia sick'. It's so sad, especially when 20 minutes later she's throwing up. And then she comes back and tells me that she needs tylenol, or that we need to go to the doctor to make her better. No kidding, she didn't say it in so many words, but that's definately what she was telling me.
She thinks that baby sister and/or mommy is always sick, because we keep going to the doctor and apparently you only go to the doctor if you are sick
I got her one of those 99 cent tape measure things (like a measuring tape, but floppy like a tape measure) at the store. She calls it her 'pink thing' (since it's pink) and will go around measuring things, and tell me 'measure book' or whatever it is that she's measuring. She also likes to measure my tummy like the doctor and tells me to 'no moof'.
she always asks for a 'hanle-burr' as we pass the McDonald's on our way out of Walmart
She's finally figured out how to pronounce 'f', 'th', and the 's' when it comes at the beginning of a word
I told her that Mom's name was Emily (since she knows that Daddy's name is Justin) and she started running around saying 'un-a-mee Amaia' :)
We watched Vern's kids one Saturday, Dillon and Kaylee, and ever since then she's referred to her little baby doll as 'Baby Kaylee'. She likes to put her to bed on a pillow with her blanket, or take her to the bathroom, or change her diaper (by lifting her legs up and asking for a tissue so she can wipe her bum). She does this with Teddy and other dolls too.
She can dress herself! The only bummer is that if she starts to get it on backwards there is no helping her-she'll freak out if you even reach out towards her while she's putting her clothes on. The only hope for a straight outfit is to lay them on the ground right side up before she ever grabs them
Not sure if I mentioned this, but she sings the BINGO song, except all she says is "B-I G-O" over and over
A fruit snack is called a boo-nak
I don't want any funny comments about Argentina losing-the pictures and video were (and still are) really cute :)
