4th of July
Had a great weekend with the Murphy family. They so generously opened their home and yard to all of us for a weekend long celebration. Lots of fun and fellowship was had. We had a beautiful night of camping on Friday followed by some tent mischief on Saturday morning. Many fish were caught and time was enjoyed relaxing Saturday on the boat and in the hammocks. Saturday night after a late movie - that most of us slept though - we had an adventurous night. We started out around 12:30 all adjourning to the tents only to make a mad dash for the garage around 1:30 when the rain and lightning started. Michelle, Nathan and I even managed to collapse and move in 2 of the tents before most of the rain came. YEAH for us; the rain didn't get the best of us THIS time!! We didn't have to set them up again later to let them dry!! :) We then crept into a nice cool, dry house to finish our slumber! Murph's Turf camping is definitely the place to be. Never camped anywhere else that the ranger would gladly open their home for campers to escape the rain! (We also enjoyed the newest member of the Reyna family, Ryan - an 18 wk old lab mix. What a sweet disposition. Poor guy was so tired by Sunday. So many people - especially kids - and so much excitement!
Broken wing

Just got through getting Caleb's left arm casted today (6/25/09). I feel like an awful mom. It's been broken for nearly a month! It happened a day after Taylor had his finger jammed badly at church. Caleb and Samuel were rough housing, and they fell with Samuel on Caleb's arm. Then he tried to yank his arm out. He came out where Nathan and I were and said that his arm hurt. He was holding it and saying that he it was broken. He had heard Taylor saying this about his finger many times just hours before, and a nurse at church assured us it was not broken. So when Caleb started this I took it with a grain of salt. Both arms looked exactly the same. We squeezed on the broken arm and got no real reaction. He said it hurt a little. We were expecting a broken arm to cause screaming pain. He wimpered a bit more about it that night and only slightly the next day. And since then the arm was continuing to look normal, and he was playing and swinging from stuff, helping carry groceries, and even picking berries a couple of weeks ago with nothing else being said we figured it was bruised and now okay. Then Monday I noticed a swollen spot on the side of his arm that was hard. We scheduled an appt. and ended up with an x-ray and a cast. After his x-ray - which he was SOOOO proud of - he said, "I told you it was broken." AARRGGGHHHH!! The doctor said it will be fine and that the good news is he only has to wear the cast for 2 weeks instead of 6 since his arm is 2/3 healed. The bump came about when the bone was mending and ocassionally it would slip since it was not immobilized. It was creating a larger bone mass around the break, but he said that this should absorb and everything look normal in about a year. S..I...G...H... Well it doesn't look too bad. Just like he has a large muscle in his forearm, so I can deal with that for a year I suppose. He's one tough cookie to have not complained about the pain anymore than he did. Even today with everyone squeezing on it, he acted like all was fine! Guess I haven't quite figured out when to panic and react and when to take it with a grain of salt and let things roll off. Still learning..We went berry picking again this weekend and the cast didn't get in the way at all! Of course the inside of the cast has a pretty purple tint to it now though! LOL

I was worried that last night storms would dampen our harvest but all was well in Wynne, AR. We headed over this morning to do some REAL harvesting in the fields. We were a couple of weeks early for nectarines but loaded up on peaches and apples. We even got to pick some blueberries today! We'll be back in a couple of weeks though because we even found a large crop of blackberries!! MMMM!
After we were done picking, we rewarded the boys with a little stream time - even Ginger got in on the fun! :)

Play Ball!!
What a fun evening!! Brandy called and asked us to join her and Mike along with all 5 kiddos for an informal game of ball down by the fairgrounds. We all had a blast and everyone (with the exception of Lynden) eventually took a turn up at bat and chasing balls. We even had our very own special baseball Zamboni! This was Lynden's favorite task of the evening. He and his truck did a GREAT job of keeping the infield looking nice! :) I finally found a team that I feel secure playing with! A fantabulous time was had by all!!

Memorial Day weekend '09
Team work!!
Can you feel the electricity?

Rain didn't dampen Bailey's experience
or the boys' appetites though!

Can you feel the electricity?
Sunday was anything BUT sunny. It rained all day, so we piled into the front of the tent for a soggy breakfast.
Rain didn't dampen Bailey's experience
A raccoon robbed our cooler, so we had to go out for Taylor's BBQ. Then is was on to DQ for a yummy treat!
