What a funny little boy!

This post is going to be about Connor and what he is up to these days. I no longer have a baby but a little boy. Connor has been learning and growing like crazy. He has started talking a ton and quite often will say things so clear or ask a question I understand. He knows and can make almost all the animal sounds. When I ask him to say an animal he won't say it but makes the noise except for puppy. He loves to say words like puppy, baby, happy, and Teddy and he says them really well. I am amazed everyday at something he does or says and how smart he is. This morning he was standing in front of my closet with me and when I asked him what he thinks I should wear, he starts pulling on a shirt and says "this" so clear. I know he understands us now most of the time but sometimes when i ask him to do something like pick up the toys he gives me this are you speaking english look it is soo funny. Almost anything we ask him to say he will at least try and he copy's us all the time especially Chris. If Chris laughs at something Connor will laugh too, if Chris puts his feet up on the foot rest Connor does too. He follows chris around trying to help. Oh and what a little helper, I am unable to vacuum, sweep, mop, do laundry, or dishes while he is awake or he thinks he needs to help or do it himself. He throws a fit if I won't let him vacuum. He is such a tough guy and is constantly trying to pick up or move things that he thinks are heavy. If he sees weights he has to carry them around. He can now get in the fridge which is nice in a way but is mostly a pain in the neck. He brings me things he wants like juice and his sippy cup but he also opens whatever he can and will make a hugh mess or start eating it. There was an apple he would munch on then put back for a few days. I am also always finding things in the fridge like his tooth brush, a tractor, or an empty sippy. He keeps opening yogurts, it drives me crazy he won't finish one before he puts it back or leaves it somewhere and opens another). He loves fruit and says orange really well. He is obsessed with juice and will no longer ask for anything else. A week ago he started setting on the potty and taking off his diaper when he needed to poop so we thought he was ready to start potty training. He went a few times but when I started having him sit on the toilette when he took off his diaper, he started fighting it and now doesn't want to sit on the toilet and hasn't been taking off his diaper. I didn't feel ready for potty training and wasn't sure he was ready so I'm ok with him stopping for a while. He is always putting on people shoes, I think he has tried on everyone of mine and chris's shoes but has just recently started putting on his own then saying "lets go". He won't sit in his highchair anymore and i can tell he likes sitting at the table together for our meals. He is so funny and very smart. His favorite things are juice, candy, tools, trucks, trains, guns, strollers, boots, four wheelers, baths, going out side and books. Below I have posted some recent pictures of him helping, trying on my church boots, and one today of him in his boots he put on to go with dad. I told him he needed pants too not just boots.

Connor and the Gecko

While in Salt Lake this last time for a dental appointment for Chris we were lucky enough to have my parents come and spend the day with us. One of the fun things we did was go visit my moms sister Becky Clark and here family in Lehi. Her son had a gecko he got for Christmas and Connor was very fascinated but nervous about it. It was a pretty cute little guy. We also went to the mall and Connor got to play on a train. Connor loves train and will say woo woo. These days Connor is saying lots of words and makes a ton of animal sounds. He will be talking in no time he already says lot of things that surprises me every day.

Connor and the horses next door

A few months ago while Chris was closing in the carport I took Connor over to see the
Horses next door. Here I am thinking he might be frightened of these big animals, Ya right Connor loved them and even Teddy did much better around them than I expected.
Y
Connor loves to take Teddy on walks. He throws a fit if I won't let him hold the leash but as you can kind of see above Teddy is usually the one leading Connor around.

Thanksgiving

This last thanksgiving we were lucky enough to have my sister Britany's family come for a visit the first of the week. The first picture was taken while we were at the dinosaur bones quarry that wall on the left is full of real dinosaur bones. You can kind of see them in the pic. They headed home early the 23rd and we spent thanksgiving day just us with a prime rib roast and left over cheesy potatoes. And headed to Highland UT as soon as Chris got home Friday for a real Turkey dinner with the whole Garrett family. Connor loves that rocking horse so much he was on it most of the weekend. It was a good thanksgiving and we were so blessed.

Dinner at a Camp Site

A couple of weeks ago we decided that we didn't really want to go camping, you know just until we get a big and cozy camper to sleep in. But we did want to get out and do something outdoorsy so we headed out and found a fun campground to do dinner and smor'es. We took the four wheeler and had a good time figuring out how to cook steak over a fire without any tin foil and trying to keep Connor from going off on his own.

Connor is always copying Chris, he tries to do whatever he can just like dad. Chris was putting wood on the fire so of course Connor had to.

Connor likes to climb on the fourwheeler he is obsessed with them.
Connor thinks he should be able to go on the fourwheeler by himself
He also thinks he can drive the truck.

Chris, Connor and Teddy coming back from a long ride.

Every time I turned around he was headed off in a different direction. It was a very fun evening, I am glad we packed up and headed home around 9 though as soon as the sun was gone it got cold. I don't like to be too cold when I sleep.

Faces

Connor is always making faces now a days they are so funny. He is always trying to copy everything we do and has become quite the little dare devil. I definitely run more towards the let him do it and learn from his mistakes. I have in the past let him do thing and get hurt that after I wonder to myself why didn't I step in. I always feel so bad when he does something that gets him hurt and I could have stopped it but I wont always be there so I want him to know what limits are and why he shouldn't do things. Like I hate that he has been burnt a couple times but I am so glad when I say "no hot" he knows what I mean and will stop dead in his tracks.

I put him in these overalls and he looked so much like a farmer. Exactly what I think of when I think of the farmers I have known.
It was so cute.
Connor might end up being a farmer for Halloween. It was Chris's turn this year to pick out his costume and well it hasn't happened yet. I guess we will see.

Just like Dad

Connor is always trying to be just like dad. He follows Chris around whenever he is home and when Chris is working he will put Chris's boots or hat on and is always saying Dada. He gets so excited if Chris has been out doing something when he hears the door open. Screaming Daaaad and running for him.

Recently he found Chris's hunting hat and carried it around for most of the night putting it on and taking it off setting it on the couch and then coming back for it and putting it back on. It was really cute.
Connor is obsessed with the four wheeler or really just four wheeler's in general. He has several little ones he plays with ever day making the noises and a push one that he is always on. It is really the only toy he is super protective over. When friends are over he will sit on it so they can't play with it. He also loves to climb on the four wheeler anytime he can when we are out side and while on a ride he thinks he needs to drive and will push my arm away if I try to hold him.
Connor also loves the lawnmower, I think he might think it is a Four Wheeler. If he can't get to the four wheeler when were out side its his next target. A while back we were out side and he disappeared I started getting a little nervous but then found him on the lawnmower. I couldn't help but laugh.
