It's Three against One. What Do You Wanna Do?

Yesterday brought a long-anticipated ski trip to Squaw Valley, home of the winter Olympics back in the day. I was very excited to get out of the bay area, enjoy some skiing and check out a world-class ski resort.

Uh, yeah. Here's how the day panned out:

-Started at 5am, 4-hour drive to Tahoe (leaving that early we managed to beat the crazy long-weekend traffic that showed up just a few hours later - seriously, insane gridlock!)

-Snowstorm

-Whiteout ski conditions (couldn't see where the runs ended and the drifts began!)

-Constant rolling down the hill (digging out of snowdrifts)

-Left the slopes at 2pm, exhausted and completely DONE with Squaw Valley (can't recommend it - maybe it was just the blizzard of a day, but their grooming was horrible! The entire park was covered in mini-moguls)

-My personal favorite part of the day: a situation that almost resulted in me and two other girls getting into a full-on fist-fight with a idiot guy who has anger-management issues (it ended when my Coast Guard friend said the phrase that is the title of this blog entry to the anger-management idiot)

-Many, many rounds of laughter.

What a day! I can't say it was great, but we had a lot of laughs.
:)

Pictures:

Before skiing - still excited!

It doesn't look that bad through the camera lens,
but ya really couldn't see 10 feet ahead while skiing.

My friend Jess, skied not ten feet and then got caught in this snow drift
(losing her iPhone in process)

This is how I spent much of the day - on my butt!

We bailed on skiing and decided to go take pictures.
Jess didn't quite get enough of snow drifts on the mountain and
proceeded to walk straight from the Jeep into another drift.

'nuf said.

Near the end of the day the sun came out for about ten minutes, and only above that one peak.
