Launching the Wanderer

I started really traveling at the age of 18. I went with a group of High School students from all-over-USA to Europe, where we performed (there was a choir, orchestra and band) in various locations, including Notre Dame cathedral in Paris. We flew in and out of Frankfurt, Germany, stayed in two towns in Germany (Heidelburg and Dinkelsbuhl) and then traveled by bus to Austria (Innsbruck), Switzerland (Lugano & Lucerne), Holland (Sellingen), Italy (Milano e Venezia) and France (Paris, of course!). It was the time of my life (up to that point).

That was TEN years ago this month. (TEN whole years since I graduated High School! Shocking!)

Since then, I've had many, many more grand adventures and have wandered far and near; over 40 countries, over 40 US states. That trip at 18 was the beginning of my multi-country touring. The travel bug bit hard and latched on then. And although the frantic pace I used to move along at has slowed now (travel is harder to do when you've got to pay for it!) the bug is now so deeply absorbed in my system that I'll never get it out. Que Sera!
