UK Fan?

Anna's teacher has completely brainwashed her into becoming a University of Kentucky fan. The other night UK was playing basketball pretty late and Anna got so mad at us when we made her go to bed. She made us record it for her. Anyway, UK and University of Louisville are playing in the final four and it is pretty much a big deal around here. People are intense! At school the kids got to wear their favorite team colors. Anna's teacher asked her if she had any UK shirts. When Anna said no, her teacher gave her two shirts. Anna was so excited and had a hard time deciding which one to wear. She finally settled on the one below. She wouldn't even button her jacket because she wanted everyone to see that she was a UK fan.
Both Rob and I were a little worried about what a superfan she has become until we asked her if UK played BYU who would she root for. Without hesitation she answered, "BYU, of course!". Guess she can stay in our house...For now ;)

Shaker Village

While Grandpa and Grandma Cloward were visiting we decided to do some low key tourist things (since I can't really do a lot with a newborn). We discovered that there is a shaker village just outside of Lexington, so we decided to give it a tour. Sara was more interested in picking flowers than she was listening to the people talk. These women were incredible! They were making their tapestries on the loom. It was impressive (I thought of you Rachel when I saw this. You would love it!). The hours that are spent on each piece are long and I can't even imagine how long it would take to set up the loom!
We made Sara try on the bonnet. Surprisingly enough, she agreed!
We got to see how they made their own brooms. It was quite interesting.

Grandma and the girls checking out the livestock.

The Love Bucket

At Sara's school the kids get to bring home something called "The Love Bucket". They put everything that they love into the bucket and bring it to school to show. I let Sara chose everything that went into the bucket. She surprises me sometimes. She chose to put her doll, Pretty, her puppy, Penny, a picture of the family, a picture of her and Anna holding Spencer, sixlets, her wankie (blanket), and a piece of paper that she colored on. Oh, and there was also a sequin from her flip flop that she included because she likes sparkly things.

She was pretty excited to go and share her treasures. And she got to do it on pajama day...Double excitement!

First Bath

Spencer finally had his first bath. He hated it! And I have to say it is a little different to bathe a boy than it is to bathe a girl ;)

Play Ball!

The weather has been beautiful lately. Rob took the girls outside the other night to teach them how to play catch. Anna's is starting to pick up the concept, but Sara is a few years out.

Writer of the Month

A couple of weeks ago we received a letter indicating that Anna was to be awarded the writer of the month. We had to keep it a secret from her, as they announce the winner on the morning news. So the morning that she was to receive her award we headed to the school to surprise her. They announced her name and had her come to the library. When she rounded the corner to come into the library her face was priceless. You could tell that she was so proud of herself.
Here she is with her certificate.
With all of the other winners.

Her story. They were assigned to write a story using "fancy" words.

"My mom is going to have a baby boy today! I am so xstadic (ecstatic) bekus its my first brother. Im going to see it when I get off the bus. I think he will look cute. Yester day I thot that she was just going to the hostpetel but today she went to the hospitel and got the baby out of her stumik (stomach).

Her story will be displayed in the library for the month of March. Way to go Anna! We're so proud of you!

Raising Them Right!

My mom sent Spencer a Cosmo pillow pet. We thought it was appropriate to take his picture with it when BYU was playing in March madness.
What a handsome little man! Love the smile and the dimple!
Too bad he wasn't a good luck charm...The Y lost :(

Goodbye Aunt Kassi

The day came when we had to say goodbye to Aunt Kassi. The girls had a really hard time with it. Sara kept saying that she was going to get on the plane with her and even packed her back pack to go. It's so great to have all of the visitors, but it sure is difficult to say good bye to them.
We had to get a picture of Spencer and Aunt Kassi...Aren't they cute?!The girls wouldn't let go of her on the way to the security line.

What cute girls!
Having a hard time saying goodbye.

Thanks for coming Kassi. We appreciate all of your help. We love you!

Ballet

Anna's ballet school had visitors week. I cannot believe how much she has improved! They started using the bar this year and she has become really good on it. There are still a couple of things that we need to practice, but overall, she is doing reallyreally well! So proud of her!

Kassi's Here!

Before my mom left, Kassi arrived. It eased the pain of my mom leaving and the girls were so excited to have Aunt Kassi come to visit. One of the things Kassi did was go to Anna's school lunch. Here's Anna with her friend Rylee. Aunt Kassi and Anna.
We were also excited to have Kassi come to cut the girls hair. It was very much needed and the girls won't let anyone else do it.

Grandma Time

Sara and Spencer (okay and mommy!) were able to enjoy a lot of Grandma time. It was wonderful to have her here! She had Spencer sleep in her room for the first couple of nights and because of that he has been sleeping five to six hours at night. She let the girls seep in the bed with her and she got up early to help get Anna ready for school and on the bus. I'm pretty sure she left here exhausted.
In this picture they were saying "I love chocolate!" We learned that it is not the best thing to say for smiling pictures.Love this picture!
Grandma and Spencer.

I cried pretty hard when she left. Actually, I cried about a week before she left because I knew she was leaving. Stupid hormones!
Thank you for everything you did, mom! I love you!

Anne of Green Gables

For Valentine's Day Grandma sent Anna the condensed version of Anne of Green Gables. She finished it in about two days and loved it. So, when my mom came out to help with the baby she brought the movie for Anna to watch. We popped it in late one night. Anna was enthralled.

Sara fell asleep.
And Spencer was just along for the ride.
My favorite part of the night was when Anna realized that Gilbert teased Anne all of the time because he liked her. She then realized that the boys at church tease her for the same reason. We have told her this several times, but sometimes you just have to come to the realization yourself.

Happy St Patrick's Day

This is the extent of what we did for St. Patty's day. Anna was sad that the leprechauns didn't come to our house, but I didn't have it in me. Besides, when did this become another holiday to celebrate with candy and gifts? I can't keep up anymore.

A week old!

Spencer is a week old. He has changed so much! When we took him to the Dr for his jaundice check up he had dropped to 8 lbs 10 oz. I think it is so funny that he "dropped" to that size. I don't know very many babies that are born that size. But since he had dropped almost a pound since birth, they had reason to worry. So, we made an appointment for four days later to make sure he gained. Well, when we took him back in he was 9 lbs 3 oz. He was gaining more than an ounce a day. Crazy kid! So, he is healthy and happy. We sure do love him!

Snow!

Kentucky has some weird weather! One day we have 70 degree weather with a couple of tornado's and a couple of days later we got two to three inches of snow! Funny thing is that they didn't cancel school. Last year they canceled school due to a chance of snow but they didn't cancel when there was actual snow. They even had a couple of buses slide off the road. Silly Kentucky people!
The girls were so excited that as soon as Anna got home from school they bundled up and headed out to play. Sara was pretty excited to make snow angels.Anna did some as well.

They also made a snowman. It was a little one since the snow was starting to melt, but it turned out pretty cute. When Rob got home they insisted on having him pull them around on the sled with the tractor. I think he had more fun than the girls did. It's a good thing that they enjoyed it because the next day it was 60 degrees and the snow all melted away. Gotta love Kentucky weather!

Sara and Spencer

Sara is slowly starting to warm up to Spencer. It took her about a week. She has started to become my little helper as well. I love these pictures! She does love her little brother!

Rob started a tradition with the triplets of buying all of the babies a stuffed puppy. Spencer received his the other day. Sara was trying to introduce him to the puppy.

Life is a little bit crazier with Spencer around, but I sure do love it!

Grandma!

Grandma came to save the day! So glad she is here...Wish she didn't have to leave:(

Tornadoes!

This is a little old, but I needed to document it for my journal. The day after we brought Spencer home from the hospital a tornado warning was issued. Thank goodness Rob was home for the week and we had pulled Anna off the bus about an hour before hand. So, we grudgingly went into the basement. The girls fought the entire time and Spencer was supposed to be under the lights due to his jaundice. Rob and I were both extremely tired and we complained the entire time. After the warning had expired we went back upstairs. Just as we walked up the stairs the sky became very green and the wind started howling again. We went back down the stairs to wait out the storm. When we came back up the second time we began to watch the news. That is when we learned that an entire town about twenty miles from our home was wiped out from a tornado. Many people lost their lives and all of the schools were destroyed. I will never complain about having to go into the basement again. At least I have a basement to hide out in. I have decided that I am not a fan of tornadoes, though. I want to go back to Utah where all we have to worry about are crazy snow storms!

Random

Rob's team from GE sent this to us. I had to capture a picture of it because it was so cute.

The girls are still so in love with Spencer. Anna especially wants to constantly be holding him. Sara is a little indifferent. Poor thing is feeling a little neglected. Hopefully she will warm up to him.

Under the Lights

My poor Spencer has had to go under the lights. He hates them, therefore I hate them! He has to get his foot pricked daily and that is not a happy thing. Hopefully he doesn't have to stay under for too long!
