Jimmer Fever

We've got it all the way here in Kentucky. Go BYU!!!

Shoes!!!!

Our friends told us of this wonderful discovery that they found...A Zappos outlet. It's only about an hour from our house and we decided to go and check it out. We went on a wonderful day. All boots were 70% off and all shoes were50% off. Plus, it was friends and family day so we were able to get an additional 20% off our entire purchase. I ended up with these three pairs of shoes. Anna and Sara were each able to get a new pair of cute Kangaroos all for $70. What a steal!! So, who's coming to visit now?

My First 5K

About a month ago I somehow got signed up to run in a 5K with a couple of my friends. The day of the race came. I was so nervous! I could easily do the 3.1 miles on a treadmill, but I didn't do very well once I was on the pavement. The weather was perfect, except for the wind. The wind was pretty strong, which made me even more nervous. Then I saw the course...Are you kidding me!! So many hills. Not the most ideal for a first timer. Even one of the marathoners said that it was a ridiculous course. So, I sucked it up and began the race.
Here we are right before the race. This is one of the greatest group of women! There was so much support and love in the group. Our shirts say "Run and Not Be Weary...Sista' Power!Coming around the bend. I wanted to include this picture to show our cheering section. We had so many women and kids from the ward come and cheer us on. I was so excited to see them, it brought tears to my eyes. Maybe it was because the finish line was so close, but I think it was to see them all cheering me on...Telling me I could finish.
Crossing the finish line. I completed the race in 40.29 which is about a 13 minute mile. I didn't meet my goal of under 40 minutes or of running the whole race (those hills killed me!), but I did finish. I have run a 5K. Something I never thought I would be able to say. And now I have a time to try and beat for the next one!
With my personal cheering section. After I crossed the finish line Anna came running up to me. I thought she was coming to give me a hug and say good job. Nope. She said, "Mom...You didn't win the race!". Thanks Anna!

Let's Go Fly a Kite

We had the perfect weather for kite flying. The girls were so excited to get their kites up in the air.

Package

Thanks Grandpa and Grandma!

Casual Saturday

We actually had nice weather on a Saturday for the first time in a long, LONG, time. Rob and the girls decided to do yard work.
Sara decided to demonstrate her sense of style. Gotta love the rain boots with the short skirt.Anna helped Daddy plant a bunch of bulbs. She wanted me to take a picture of her dirty hands to show she really did the work.
We had a bush die this last summer, so Rob had to dig it out. I don't recall taking this picture. Perhaps my camera was swiped?!
We were glad that we were able to enjoy a sunny day. It's already turned cold and rainy again. Oh, how I miss the sun!

Ballet

It was visitor's day at Anna's ballet. She is getting to be so good. She has learned so many fun, new things.

We're in Trouble!!!

Sara is very much an independent child. It started out when she figured out how to walk and it has just gotten worse. When she was little I would pick her up and carry her against her will. After I put her down she would walk back to the spot where I picked her up and walk back over to me, as if to prove she could do it herself.
There will be days where I am upstairs in my room and she will bring me a gallon of apple juice and a cup for me to pour her a drink. The best was one day she brought up what she thought was apple juice and it was really vegetable oil. Eww!
Well, I got her in the act today. She lugs over the barstool. Climbs up into the cupboard and gets her cup. This is only going to end in tears, but that is going to be the only way to stop her. Silly girl!

Fun with Daddy

I have the most amazing husband! He realized that I was really tired so he let me go upstairs and take a nap while he entertained the girls. When I came downstairs I got to see what they had been doing for the last hour. Rob had taught them to paint.
Anna lasted the whole time so I was able to get a picture of her signing her name. Sara only lasted about ten minutes, but she had fun while she was doing it.Here are the finished pieces. Sara's creation that she calls "Colors".
Rob's creation that is called "Saturday Afternoon Doodle" (clever, huh!)
Anna's is called "Flower in the Field". She sat down, sketched it out and then painted. She did the whole thing by herself. I love that I can actually see what each object is.

Looks like everyone had a great afternoon!

Package

When we go to get the mail Anna always asks if there is a letter for her. It is so sad to watch that anxious smile turn upside down into the saddest face ever when I tell her that there is not one. That is what happened today. About five minutes afterward the doorbell rang. It was the UPS man dropping off a package from the Clowards in Pleasant Grove. Anna grabbed it and saw that it was addressed to her and Sara . She was so excited. When we opened it we found the most exciting things.
First of all, a pretty pink puppy for Sara for her birthday. She has named it Barbie. She is very much a girly girl! When I told her to show me her puppy and say cheese this is the picture I got; the puppy saying cheese.
We then pulled out what Anna called, "Alli's party in a box." Alli had sent both Anna and Sara stuff from her birthday party so that they could recreate it. She was so excited that she actually cried. "I love Alli!" was heard pretty frequently!

Here she is enjoying her snowman. Thanks so much Alli and Merfy for remembering the girls .They were so excited and so happy. We love you guys!

The Love Bucket

Anna came home from school the other day with the Love Bucket. She had to fill the bucket with the things that she loves. Here is what her 5 year old mind came up with;
1. Her blanket that Grandma Cloward crochet. This has got to be her number 1 love. She has had this blanket since she was little and cannot go a night without it.

2. A stuffed lamb named Mutton that Grandma Hadfield and Aunt Kassi gave her at birth. She loves that thing!

3. A stuffed puppy. Not sure why it was in there.

4. A very old picture of her family. It made me realize that I desperately need to print out our new family pictures.

5. Her ballet slippers. She loves to dance!

6. A princess Barbie doll to show that she loves Princesses and Barbies.

She wanted to put a lot more stuff in, but it just wouldn't fit. I love my sweet Anna. She is one of the most kind, compassionate little girls around. She has such a tender heart that is filled with love for everyone and everything.
