Helping Daddy!

The girls love spending time with their daddy. He was cutting up some squash after church today and the girls wanted to help. Being the great dad that he is, Rob gave them a little bit of squash and a butter knife and let them cut away. They had a great time!

Bats Game!

Rob's company got tickets to the Bats game. It was the first time I have ever been to a baseball game. The girls and I were so excited to go!
Sara was excited to eat her hot dog. I have a lot of pictures with Sara with food all over her face!
In front of the field.
They had a merry go round at the game as well. I hope that the girls are getting a little bored.
But probably not.
The skyline of Louisville.
Anna insisted on having some Cotton Candy. It was all over her face. We ended up not staying the whole game. The girls were restless once the food was gone. So, now we can say we have been to a Bats game. It was fun, but I don't know how soon we will be going back.

Roasting Time

It has started cooling down a little bit at night so we were able to pull out our fire pit. We invited our friends the Anderson's. The kids have a lot of fun with each other and we really enjoy their company.
Anna and Sara tried to roast marshmallows together. It didn't really work out that well.
So we let them each have their own.
Anna's got a little too done!
Rob enjoying his first s'more of the season.
Anna and Emma with their extremely sticky s'mores!
Sara trying to roast them. Step one, put them it on the stick.
Step 2, get it over the fire. She eventually got bored and put it down. Her mellow roasted faster than mine!
A face only a mother could love!
Anna and her daddy.
Anna has been learning about camping at school. She insisted on listening to ghost stories around the fire. The guys really got the girls screaming. I think Anna is a little scared here as she is peering out of the side of the chair.
Listening to the stories.
Another bonding moment.

We had a lot of fun and are ready to do it again!

The Zoo, again

One of our friends called and invited us to go to the zoo with them. The girls were bored, so we headed out. We had been having nice weather, but it got ugly today. It was incredible hot, so we didn't last long and I didn't get a lot of pictures. On the way out, the girls convinced me to let them ride the merry go round again.

Kentucky State Fair

Today we ventured to the Kentucky State Fair, where the motto was, Hey, do you think we can fry this? We had heard that we could try some interesting things fried; Snickers, Pop Tarts, Pickles and Twinkies. We didn't try any of them, although I would like to try the fried Snickers one day.
This is how Sara enjoyed the fair. On top of daddy. I love that she rests her head on her hands on top of his head.
There were quite a lot of animals to see. Here is Sara in front of one of the exhibits.
Here is one of the gross things that we saw at the fair. Really?! It's just plain disgusting!
The highlight of the fair for the girls was the carousel ride. Anna really wanted to ride the Ferris wheel, but it cost $5 a person. Serious rip off!
Sara was pretty excited to ride as well.
Sara's all smiles!
We made one more stop to see the animals on the way out. The bunnies were a huge hit for the girls. This one was very interested in Sara. She thought it was great!
Anna was brave enough to pet all of the animals.

All in all, we had a great time. Not sure if we will do it again, but we did it once!

Nothing Exciting

I don't really have anything exciting to post about, but I think that the grandparents were itching for new pictures of the girls. So, I'm happy to oblige! We made mini pizzas tonight and it was a big hit with the girls. They love anything that they get to help do!
Anna wanted a picture with just her.
So did Sara. Man, I have cute kids!

11 Years!

Eleven years ago I married my best friend. The last eleven years have been quite interesting to say the least. We have been on some amazing adventures together. We have had several ups. We have experienced several downs. Losing our babies could have torn us apart, but he became the person that I depended on the most and I love him so much for the rock that he was to me.
In honor of the past 11 years, here are 11 reasons why I love my Rob.

11 He is dependable. I know that I can count on him and so do others around us.

10 He has amazing hair, just ask him!

09 He has an interesting sense of humor. Sometimes I don't fully understand it, but he keeps it interesting.

08 He is an extremely hard worker in every aspect of his life; work, home, kids, church, etc.

07 He is very optimistic. He always finds the glass half full. This is helpful when you are married to a glass half empty type of person.

06 He honors his priesthood. I love that I can ask for a blessing and know that he is worthy to give me one.

05 He is the best father for our children. I love the stories that he makes up to tell them at night. My favorite is still the caterpillar story.

04 He encourages me in my interests. When I wanted to do a dance class, he made it possible. He encourages me to go and find friends and pushes me to do girl's night out.

03 He is an awesome cook!

02 He loves the Lord and tries to do what is right.

01 He loves me and treats me like a Queen, even when I don't deserve it.

Happy Anniversary Rob! I love you and am so grateful to have you in my life!

Second Day of School

Pictures for the second day of school turned out so much better. Anna was a lot more happy (I think she was a lot less nervous) and was willing to pose for pictures. Also, she let me dress her is something much cuter than the Dora clothes that she picked out the day before.
She had a blast her first day. They made a fake fire to roast their fake marshmallows over. She had to show her stick off in the pictures as well.

First Day of School

Anna started her second year of preschool today. I was a little worried that she would be clingy, seeing that it is a completely different school in a completely different state. But she did wonderfully! She walked right up and gave me a hug and a kiss goodbye. It helped that some of her friends from church were there.
She didn't want her picture taken. I finally convinced her and this is the face I got.
A little bit happier here.
Sara also wanted to have her picture taken. She was so sad that she didn't get to go this year. Next year it will be her time.
I love my girls!
In front of her new school. She came home with so many cute things and had so much fun. It's going to be a great year!

Grandpa and Grandma Come Back

Grandpa and Grandma stopped in to see us on their way back home. Sara was pretty excited to see them.Sara also found Daddy's Swiss hat and had to try it on.
Then Daddy had to wear it as well. Don't they look awesome!

I scream, you scream....

The girls have become addicted to ice cream. It is a must have when the heat index is up to 110 for the last week other day when I was watching the news it said that we have been above 95 degrees for the last 58 days out of 65. Yikes!
Anyway I thought that these pictures turned out pretty cute.
