Drive Me Crazy

We went to a jumping place with a group of friends. Sara was a crazy woman, wanting to go down all of the slides. My cautious Anna wouldn't do hardly anything. But they both enjoyed these cars. Good thing I spent so much money on the place so they could play in these inflatable cars. But it was fun to get out of the house.

Raindrops keep falling on my head

I caught the girls doing this the other day. Trying to catch raindrops. I remember doing this as a kid as well. One of the joys of childhood. It reminded me that sometimes I need to stop and enjoy the rain as well.

Pioneer Day

We had an impromptu bbq with our friends on the 24th. The kids got out of the pool long enough to eat. So fun! We love that our kids and us have made friends so quickly.

Paradise Cafe

We have heard that we needed to try Paradise Cafe. It has been featured on The Food Network and even had a throw down with Bobby Flay. So while Corry and Merf (fellow foodies) were here, we decided to give it a try. You walk in and there is immediately an aura of fun! There were so many hats to try. Rob tried the rooster one.The girls were not that interested in the atmosphere, more about the food.
Who is that man I married?
Sara found a Birthday hat and tried to blow out the candles.
What an awesome chair for the princesses.
Is that a tomato or Sara that I see?
Spoon?
The crazy parents!
Overall it was a very fun atmosphere, but the food was iffy. If it was cheaper we would do it again, but the food was not worth the price. But we've done it once. We're good.

Bat Museum with Daddy!

Rob took the day off since Corry made it into town. We had to do the bat museum with daddy. It was his first time. Anna begged me to take this picture. She has the pose down.Another picture request from Anna.
Churning butter.

Girls Room

After several weeks, we finally finished the girls bedroom. All of those lovely aquatic animals are tole painted on. Here are the before pictures. And the after. Anna picked out the paint colors. The pink is called ballet pink, appropriately. It took three coats of the pink just to cover up those lovely animals. I liked how it turned out. But more importantly, the girls love it! Now all I need to do is finish the quilts for the girls beds that I started two years ago. Wish me luck!

The Zoo

We ventured to the zoo today. It was huge and there was so much to do! Here are the kids in the reptile and fish area.Sara found a Rhino to sit on.

This eagle kept staring at Sara and she kept staring back. So funny!
There is a splash park in the middle of the zoo. It is such a nice touch since it is so hot there.
Waiting for the sea lions to show up. Sara loving on Missy!
Anna and Alli. They are not only cousins but best friends.
One monkey with another.
Sitting on the monkeys.
Not quite as big as a gorilla.

Not quite a full grown gorilla.
Live animals!
I think both of Ann's hands could fit comfortably in one of the gorillas.
Pretty tiny!

Churchill Downs/Kentucky Derby Museum

We really didn't have any plans today. We had gone online to see how much the museum for the Derby cost and it was more than what we were willing to pay, or so we thought. So we decided to just drive down there and see Churchill Downs. Once again, it was a very hot, muggy day, as evident in this picture that Merf shot of Alli and Anna. Once she had the camera out, the lens fogged up. But it was too cute not to post.Merf also shot this picture of Sara. I love it!
All of the kids in front of Churchill Downs. It is an enormous place! I can't imagine being there during the Derby, though. Way too crowded.
When we walked into the museum, we found out that AAA member got a huge discount, so we decided to check it out. So glad we did. It was awesome! You enter the museum by running through the gates.
I love this picture! The kids got to dress up in jockey clothes. Anna decided to try it, but wasn't too happy once she had it on. Can she look anymore pitiful?
All the kids at the winners circle.

The tombstone of a winning horse. Three horses are buried in Churchill Downs. They bury the head, the heart and the hooves and then cremate the rest and bury the remains.

Look out Sara!
Sara racing the horses.
Anna racing the horse. They had an interactive game where you could race against others. We couldn't get the kids off the horses.
I even raced Merf. I beat her!!

Sitting in the 360 theater. Funny story. Scotty decided that he didn't want to sit on one of the chairs. Sara wasn't having any of that. She marched a chair over to him, pointed at the seat and said, "One! Two! Right now!" She kept repeating it over and over until he sat down. Gotta love seeing your parenting skills come to term!
Cute girls!
Riding yet another horse. We are not quite sure if the kids could sit on this one, but there wasn't a sign stopping us. So we went for it.
Sara loved it.

Kids getting weighed.
By the end of the trip, Sara was done. We had sufficiently worn her out.
It was very worth the money to go to the museum. It was very kid friendly. And now Anna is saving her money to buy a small pony. Lovely!
