We really didn't have any plans today. We had gone online to see how much the museum for the Derby cost and it was more than what we were willing to pay, or so we thought. So we decided to just drive down there and see Churchill Downs. Once again, it was a very hot, muggy day, as evident in this picture that
Merf shot of Alli and Anna. Once she had the camera out, the lens fogged up. But it was too cute not to post.
Merf also shot this picture of Sara. I love it!

All of the kids in front of Churchill Downs. It is an enormous place! I can't imagine being there during the Derby, though. Way too crowded.

When we walked into the museum, we found out that AAA member got a huge discount, so we decided to check it out. So glad we did. It was awesome! You enter the museum by running through the gates.

I love this picture! The kids got to dress up in jockey clothes. Anna decided to try it, but wasn't too happy once she had it on. Can she look anymore pitiful?

The tombstone of a winning horse. Three horses are buried in Churchill Downs. They bury the head, the heart and the hooves and then cremate the rest and bury the remains.

Look out Sara!

Sara racing the horses.

Anna racing the horse. They had an interactive game where you could race against others. We couldn't get the kids off the horses.

I even raced
Merf. I beat her!!

Sitting in the 360 theater. Funny story.
Scotty decided that he didn't want to sit on one of the chairs. Sara wasn't having any of that. She marched a chair over to him, pointed at the seat and said, "One! Two! Right now!" She kept repeating it over and over until he sat down. Gotta love seeing your parenting skills come to term!

Cute girls!

Riding yet another horse. We are not quite sure if the kids could sit on this one, but there wasn't a sign stopping us. So we went for it.

Sara loved it.

Kids getting weighed.

By the end of the trip, Sara was done. We had sufficiently worn her out.

It was very worth the money to go to the museum. It was very kid friendly. And now Anna is saving her money to buy a small pony. Lovely!
