Weeds?

Anna came in with a bouquet of flowers for me. She knows that she cannot pick other people's flowers, so she picked all the weeds for me. I promptly displayed them, of course. Who knew that a pile of weeds could be so beautiful!

Swimming fun!

The girls were so anxious to get into the pool today and wanted to get in as soon as they woke up. We had to run a couple of errands this morning, but I let them get in as soon as we got back. The number one rule of the pool is that they have to wear life jackets. I am so glad we put them in jackets, especially Sara. Right after I took these pictures I went inside for less than 30 seconds to put the camera on the table. When I came back out, Sara was lying on her back, screaming. She had slipped on the bottom of the pool and couldn't regain her footing. Luckily she was wearing her jacket and it helped keep her face afloat. I can't imagine what would have happened if she wasn't wearing that jacket. Unfortunately, she was afraid to go back into the water after that. Anna ended up staying in the pool for about three hours. She was so tired by the time she got back inside. Hopefully she sleeps great tonight! As for me, I learned that I need to apply sunscreen better. Anna has an awful sunburn tonight. Oops! I guess she didn't inherit my skin!

Pool!

We finally broke down and bought a pool. It is not a very big pool but it is enough to keep us cool in this miserable heat and humidity! We started filling it tonight and the girls didn't want to wait until it was full. Sara somehow got a hold of the hose and started getting revenge on Anna for everything that she had done to her.
She got her pretty good!
We figured if Sara got wet she would leave Anna alone. So into the pool she went.
She enjoyed it so much that we just left her and Anna in there with their clothes on.
Don't let Sara's face fool you. She loved it. They were cold, but happy.

Father's Day, For Real

Even though Rob already got his Father's Day present, we figured that we needed to treat him special anyway. The girls love their dad and love to spend time with him.
Anna wanted to give him a bag of M&M's.
I think he liked them!
Oh, my silly family. I sure love them!
I don't have words for this picture, but I think it is a great one! My silly, silly Sara!
Eating breakfast in the family room. Notice all of the Spackle on the walls!
Anna wanted to make a cake for Rob. I really think that she wanted to lick the beaters!
Rob got what he really wanted...A nap!
Anna's finished product. It had to be a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and princess sprinkles!
Happy Father's Day Rob! We love you!

Ballooning!

Rob has become pretty involved in hot air ballooning. Tonight he was called and asked to help at a balloon glow in Indiana. So the girls and I called the neighbors and headed on out to Indiana. It was so hot and humid. The girls were incredibly grumpy until the sun went down, which was around 9:30. Don't know if we will do that again.
Here are Anna and her friend, Madison, trying to get the balloon to go up. Sara sure loves her daddy!
I thought this was a pretty good shot.
The firemen were passing out hats so the girls had to have one.
Daddy trying to cool off Sara.

The Bat Museum

We had to run downtown today and the girls saw the giant bat and begged me to stop. So being the nice mom that I am, I stopped and let them play for a little bit.
Of course we had to take a picture in front of the giant bat. I don't know what is going on, but lately Anna has to pose in all of the pictures. Sara is starting to do so as well.It really is a cool place!

Playing in the little batting cages.Posing (again) on the mitt.
How cute are my girls!

Happy Early Fathers Day!

Now having an acre of land, Rob decided he was in dire need for a lawn tractor. He has been researching them for about three months now and decided that the John Deere was right for him. He ordered it yesterday and it showed up today. He was so excited! Now he fits right into the neighborhood and our lawn looks a lot better after being mowed!
Happy Father's Day Rob!
Anna was pretty excited to mow the lawn with Daddy.
Once again, Sara had to join in as well!
Fun times with Dad!

Before pictures

I took some before pictures so that I could document what the house looked like before we fixed it up. The carpets actually look a lot better than when we moved in. Rob cleaned them this weekend.
This is the bonus room. We are turning it into the hang out room.
This is either going to be a reading area or craft area. We are still not sure what we are going to do.

The guest room until we get the bathroom finished downstairs or have to change this to a nursery. Whatever comes first.
The girl's bedroom. I have actually taken down the wallpaper border already. We have purchased the paint. I just need to do it.
Our bedroom. I despise the color and it flows into the bathroom as well. Still trying to figure out what to do with it.

Hide and Seek Continues

I heard more giggling today. I found Anna hidden in the linen closet. Of course since Anna was in there, Sara had to join in. They are going to be sorely disappointed when all of their hiding places are filled!

First Breakdown

So, it only took a week. I had a huge breakdown. I woke up at 7 that morning and just started cleaning. I finished at 5 that night and it still looked terrible. The previous owners were filthy people that did not care what condition they left the house in. I had this grand dream of moving in and decorating. Guess it wasn't a reality. So, I don't know if it was the fact that I was tired and sore and sick of whining children, or if it was the disappointment in the house, but I became extremely home sick yesterday. I wanted more than anything to have my family and friends around me. I wanted help. I know that if I was in Utah my kids would be taken care of and that people would be there to help me clean. So instead of trying to resolve the problem I just sat down and sobbed. I didn't know how I was going to do it. I was so ready to just move back to Utah.
Today I am doing a little better. I still want to head back to the familiar territory of Utah and be around those that love me. But, I feel that I can survive a little bit longer. The girls have not bickered as much as they did yesterday. I have received a couple of e-mails and phone calls from the women here in the ward just checking on me. I know that I will be alright here but I think it all boils down to one thing; I'll be okay in Kentucky but my heart will always be in Utah.

Hide and Seek

A new house is awesome for hide and seek. Since there is nothing in the house yet, the girls have been having a great time. It took me fifteen minutes to find Sara the other day. I found them in the cupboard this morning. Silly girls!

Porch Swing

We went and picked up my porch swing today. The girls even helped carry it. Can't wait to get it up so I can sit in it and watch for fireflies!

Elder's Quorum Party

We got invited to the Elder's Quorum party tonight. It was a lot of fun! The girls were so excited to get to ride a horse. Here they are waiting for their turn.
I tried to get a self portrait with Sara, but the little monkey put her hand up right as I took the picture. The only thing she ended up blocking was me!
Anna finally got her turn. She got to ride Gracie who is really careful with kids, or so Anna told me. They got to ride it by themselves as one of the guys led the horse around an acre and a half lot.
I didn't think she would do it, but she was all smiles when she came back. She has even informed us that she now wants to ride a horse in the Kentucky Derby.
I was completely shocked when Sara got on. I don't know why, since she is the one who is the most brave. She got to ride by herself as well.
And they're off!
Afterward, they found a barn and all of the kids started throwing hay at each other. They were having a grand time!
They came home filthy but happy. I think I need to go find some boots for my cowgirls!
