A Big Sandbox

After cleaning up the garden area with Grandpa, the girls decided that the area was one giant sandbox. Sara found my garden trowel and Anna got the big shovel and started digging. They ended up playing in there for about two hours. I believe we will be investing in a sandbox at the next house!

Yard Work

My parents came over to help me clean up the side of the yard. It was very much needed. The girls loved helping Grandpa turn the dirt in the garden. Anytime they can get outside they relish it. The best part about it, they have no problem going to bed and they sleep through the night.

Sleepover!

Anna and Jayde got to have a sleepover at Grandpa and Grandma's house. Not a lot of sleep happened, but the girls sure had a lot of fun. I guess at one point Anna put her arm around Jayde and said "Don't worry Jayde. I will protect you!". Then Jayde said the same thing to Anna. I love that Anna is close to her cousins. Hopefully they can remain close after we move. They sure love their Grandpa!

Bad Day?

Last Sunday I was having a pretty bad day. I was feeling sorry for myself, which is never a good thing. I grudgingly got the girls ready for church and headed on out. It is not often that the girls let me actually listen to the speakers in sacrament meeting, but for some reason they did that day. The speaker was talking about how if we are feeling blue and sorrowful we need to lose ourselves in service. There is no better way to forgot our sadness. So, after I shed a few tears, okay, a lot of tears, I decided to test this and find out if it was true. I had the girls help me make cupcakes and take them to a neighbor. When I say help, I mean they licked the beaters. Anyway, it is true. You do forget your own problems. Yes, they are still there, but you don't have time to wallow in them. So, if some cupcakes or brownies magically appear at your door, just sum it up to me having a bad day!

The Countdown Begins!

Ever since Anna found out that Rob was coming home she has been begging me to make a countdown. So we finally buckled down and did it. The girls are so excited to pull off one of the numbers everyday! We can't wait until Daddy comes home!!

Weenie Roast!

My dad called to inform us that they were during the first burn of the season. This calls for a weenie roast! So much fun! And they got to play with cousin Jayde. What cute girls!

So Cool

Sara went into the shower wearing the sunglasses and kept them on through the whole thing, including her shampooing and drying off. Once again I just have to say, I love my Sara!!

St Patricks Day

My mom got the girls these shirt for St Patricks Day. So cute!

Pirate Island

Rob came into town...Hooray! At first we had talked about going out on a date (I couldn't even tell you the last date I went on with just him and I) but we decided that the girls needed to hang out with their dad as well. So we headed over to Pirate Island. It is a lot like Chuck E Cheese but with a lot better food. Plus you are served by a pirate! Awesome!
Anna decided that she wanted to try and play "Guitar Hero". Daddy stepped in to help (or takeover!).
Sara tried to play as well. The guitars were pretty heavy!

Riding the motorcycle with Daddy. Anna loved it...Sara not so much. That surprised me since Sara is so much more adventurous than Anna.

All in all we had a great time. It's always nice to spend time with our Daddy!

Kentucky

While I was in Kentucky I decided that I had to come up with at least 10 things that I liked about it. So, here we go.

1. Rob's job. This has to be the number one reason. He loves his job and is happy there. That is extremely important to me.

2. The land. We can get a lot more land and house out there than we can in Utah.

3. The people. Everyone is so polite out there. Case in point, we were pulled alongside of the road downtown trying to figure out something to do, when all of the sudden a nice gentleman knocked on the window asking if we were lost. We told him we were looking for something to do and he rattled off about 20 things to do. He was so helpful.

4. There is so much to do there! I have a feeling we are going to become baseball and basketball fans!

5. We are only a hours away from a lot of major cities...Memphis, Chicago, Washington DC.

6. Speaking of DC, we are only about seven hours away from my best friend, Sheralyn!

7. Humidity! I may regret saying this later on, but I love that I didn't have to use lotion at all while I was there!

8. There is a Cheesecake Factory very close!

9. The roaming hills and all of the trees. I can't wait to see it in the Spring and in the Fall. It has got to be beautiful!

10. Rob is there! Wherever he goes, I go. Okay, maybe this should have been number 1.

So there you have it. I was able to come up with 10. Now if we could just figure out how to get our family and friends out there it would become the perfect place to live!

Picnic!

The girls requested to have a picnic in the family room tonight. So we headed to Taco Amigo (our favorite place by far!) and got ourselves situated in front of the TV and watched Toy Story. We had a great time and I think that I win the mom of the day award today!

Snow Day!

Even though we have had some great days of semi warm weather this week we woke up to about seven inches of snow. Yuck!!! But Anna was very excited to see the snow. She must be her father's daughter because she loves it and I absolutely hate it! So while I was out shoveling the stuff, Anna decided to build a snowman.

The finished project. She was so proud of it. Luckily for me, but not for the snowman, the sun came out this afternoon and melted the poor snowman. All that is left of him are a bunch of grapes and a carrot. Hope the birds enjoy them.

I think Sara is more like me. She came out for a little bit but wanted to go back in after about ten minutes. She managed to get out of her coat and mittens, but couldn't quite manage her snow pants and boots. This is how I found her. She is such a monkey but I love her!
