Slides!

I took Anna and Sara to a slide place this afternoon. It was a great place full of lots of inflatable slides and trampolines. Anna refused to go down any of the slides, but Sara went for it. Her favorite slide was about twenty feet up and she wouldn't let me climb up with her. She is definitely my risk taker, but she seems to have a lot more fun than most!

Louisville Slugger Museum

Sheralyn came to town. Hooray! I'm so impressed that she braved the snow (we got about four inches and they shut down all of the schools today!) in order to come and see us. We figured no one else would brave the "snow" so we decided to head out to the Louisville Slugger Museum. It is a great one and I would highly recommend that you see when you all come to visit us. Not only do they have all sorts of baseball memorabilia but you get to tour the factory where the bats are made.
Here are Sheralyn and the girls in front of Babe Ruth's 1927 bat. There is a notch for every home run in it for a total of 60.Sheralyn really liked posing with the players. Here she is with Babe Ruth.

More posing with Ted Williams
Sara decided to copy Sheralyn in her own style. Here she is with Ken Griffey, Jr.
The ceiling is covered in bats.
In between the legs of Ted Williams.
Riding horsey on "The Babes" leg.
They have a giant bat leaning against the building. The best part is that there is a glass company a couple of doors down and they have a large fake broken window with a large ball in it. So funny!
A close up of the four of us.
They have small play area for the kids with a batting cage. Anna loved it. She would hit the ball and then run around the "bases".
Sara also loved playing ball. She would put the ball on the tee and then push it like you do in billiards.
The large baseball mitt. It was perfect for a picture.
Sara refused to look.
A better view of the large mitt. So much fun! It was one of the best museums that I have been to.

Valentines Day

This year we spent Valentines Day in Kentucky visiting Rob. We went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory (there is one about five minutes from Rob's apartment...Heaven!) the Friday before. Then on Sunday morning Anna and Sara helped me get Rob's present ready. I found this cute idea on naptimejournal.blogspot.com and decided to give it a try. Mine ended up being a little bit different than hers due to the fact that I had to figure out how to get it to Kentucky. Here's my finished product.

And just for journal purposes I want to put what I wrote on each tag.

H is for handsome and hair. It's fabulous.

L is for love of my life.

I is for intelligent. You are one of the smartest people I know.

M is for Monopoly. Wanna play?

B is for brownies. You took a chance and we fell in love.

E is for eccentric. Need I say more.

Anna and Sara helped me put it together Sunday morning and we put the leftover candy and nuts in a bowl so that we could help ourselves throughout the day. Well Sara grabbed a pistachio and a cashew. About ten minutes later she threw up and broke out into hives. She is allergic to some sort of nut. It would be nice to know which one. So, I stayed home with her while Rob hauled Anna off to church. I gave Sara some Benedryl and she immediately felt better and the hives subsided a lot. So we were able to enjoy the rest of our Valentines Sunday watching the Olympics. My parents gave the girls a do it yourself candy necklace and they had a blast. Anna actually threaded about half of her candy before she decided to quit and just eat the candy.
Sara threaded about four before she quit.

All in all it ended up being a perfect day just for the fact that we were able to spend the day together.

What I've learned

This has been a long, hard month. Having Rob gone and being the sole caretaker has been incredibly difficult. Add Sara getting RSV to the equation and it has been down right ugly. But surprisingly I have only had one breakdown, which is shocking to me! I thought I would be having a lot more. I guess I have learned that I am stronger than I think I am.
I credit this to the service of wonderful friends and family. So many people have been answers to my prayers. When I think that I cannot do it anymore, a kind neighbor shows up on my door with dinner. This has taught me to be a better neighbor and friend. Had these friends asked me what I needed help with I would have told them that I didn't need anything...That I was doing fine. These women took it upon themselves to just do it. I need to do that. Very rarely will someone tell you that they need something. I just need to listen to those gentle promptings and just do it! Rob is even experiencing this in Kentucky. He has not had to fix himself dinner on a Sunday since he has been out there. I am so grateful to those who have taken care of him. It really does warm my heart.

One of the other things that I have learned is that Heavenly Father does answer prayers. Sometimes it is not the answer we want, but He does know what is best for us. When Rob was praying to find a job he would ask to find a job where we were needed. Me, I prayed that Rob would find a job in Utah. We joked that we would find out who the more faithful was. Obviously Rob was since we are now moving to Kentucky. This was not the desired answer for me. I have had an extremely hard time accepting that this is where the Lord really wants us to go and have been fighting it. I received my answer in such a strange way this week. As you all know, we have to rely on fertility procedures in order to bring children into our family. After our miscarriage a couple of months ago I felt that we were done. Not because I felt that our family was complete, because I didn't, but because we felt that we were out of options. Well, Rob received the information on his health insurance this week and discovered that infertility is covered, which is huge! And it doesn't end there. We love our fertility Dr and it took a couple of years to find him. I don't feel that we have a couple of years to weed out the bad doctors this time and I have been so worried about trying to find the right one. I decided to e-mail my doctor to see if he had any referrals. He responded yesterday that one of the doctors that trained with him works in Louisville and he would highly recommend him. Also, this Dr's lab technician trained at the U of U with my current Dr's lab tech. Seriously, what are the odds? It seems like we are supposed to go to KY in order to possibly further our family. Who knows what else the Lord has in store for me once we get out there. This has helped put some of my fears to ease.
I'm so grateful for these and other answers to my prayers. I know that He knows and loves me. Thank goodness!

Naughty Words

For the first time in her life, Anna used a word I told her she could never use and it was directed to me. "I hate you Mom!". What exactly did I do to deserve her hate. I made her go to church. So I called up Rob and made him give her a talking to. I guess whatever he said made her feel pretty bad because I found this in my room:
She made the hearts in primary and put them on my bedside table. When I asked her what her note said she told me "I'm sorry mom. I love you!". All in all, she is a pretty sweet kid!
